  1. Awesome awesome result Swansea are a very solid team.
  2. I saw it happen to a mate of mine. It was only b grade indoor, but he just went to turn and shoot and instead fell in a crumpled heap....... What you say is exactly correct. I seriously hope jay recovers as quick as possible and is straight back into it.... I would not even wish a recurrence even if he left the injury is so bad.... Anyway this is about deadline day... Aren't we looking to sign some guy called Messi or something today?
  3. Wtf? Unless jay is superhuman he will not be seen on a pitch until 2015. Even then there is no guarantee as to his ability to be able ever regain any movement abilities he had pre injury. It's sad I know but a fact. Assuming he remains a saints player this season, my first concern is that jay is able to actually get on the pitch this season and complete a full game. There is zero chance of him recapturing pre injury form/ fitness/movement befor next season. Acl is about the ugliest injury you could do

    Shane Long

this is absolutely 100% correct. I rate long too... reckon he would be a nightmare to defend against. he really opens up the game and gives the creative guys in the midfield a chance to put some nice passes through
  5. Within 10 seconds of coming on v Liverpool gets disposed and Liverpool score. Didn't chase back hard enough. Spurs getting pumped mind you
  6. 18 shots to 4 tells A story Just need to add a bit more depth and I will be very happy
  7. Wow For big chunks of that second half we took the p155. Tadic is world class. If his right foot was any good he would already be at barcelona
  8. you can tell by the way he "passed" the ball and the over exaggeration of the fake cross its deliberate... might see if i can perfect that move against my 7 year old. he's not falling for that "hey whats that over there?" move so that when he looks i stroll straight past him class move
  9. Generally with Aussie Rules Footballers, there are probably about 5-10 players a season that do an ACL. If these players go down the path of the controversial "LARS" which I think uses stemcell growth and or artificial ligaments to repair the damamge, they can be back within 4-5 months playing. The treatment is a bit experimental i think still and the downside is, if the ACL goes again I think you need to then have a traditional ACL procedure performed. The problem with this is exactly what you say leeham. As a rule, a player is out for a season , if he goes the traditional ACL reconstruction. So usually its around 10 months recovery or so with full physio and the best of recovery avaialable. Even then, the amount of players that come back and within 6 months do the other ACL or the same ACL again is freaking scary. In my opinion those suggesting Jay will be back playing in the next few weeks or this year are in "Pretend Land" he will not play for Saints until next year, my prediction is Feb or March, and even then I would not expect much from him for the rest of the season... Football like Aussie Rules, requires more than just running in a straight line, if a player cant cut, turn, spin and change direction quickly they are useless..... It will take alot of time before J Rod is able to do that with any sort of confidence and unfortunately there is a chance that he may have a recurrence of the injury (heaven forbid because I would never ever ever wish an ACL on anyone let alone twice) and there is a very strong chance that he just may never be the same..... seen it plenty of times... Thats why when i saw him fall in that match... I almost cried for the guy... It seriously would have been better if he had both his legs snap in half So in summary If he wants out and we are offered good money in January, it would represent a massive massive risk for anyone buying. As sad as it would be.... he should be sold. But it wont happen as he wont be playing and no manager is insane enough to buy a player for good money that hasnt played for 9 months.
  10. Really? Watching the manure v Swansea game I think it's entirely possible saints could finish ahead of manure. I guess they will go down with us
  11. Now that the majority of signings have been made, I am actually feeling a little more bullish about the season. Long will do good for us, the others well we can only hope they do My updated where the goals will come from Pelle. 16 Tadic. 6 Rodriguez. 1 (i'm not even sure we'll get to see him until about March 2015) Ramirez. 5 JWP. 2 Schneiderlin. 0 Clyne 1 Long 10 Gallagher. 2 Fonte. 1 Taider 2 Davis 4 Others. 1 We will concede 53 and finish 11th
  12. Yep we've got the pakis and saffas this year in the cricket I think Go gaston. This is his year
  13. come on guys . seriously i cant believe nobody has worked out Koemans new game plan. Why do you think we havent signed a replacement for Lovren? Simple. We will be playing 3 defenders and 2 Goalkeepers this season. So Boruc and Forster in goal Clyne Fonte Bertrand in defence. In some games could also see us dropping a midfielder and bringing KD in to play revolutionary 3 3 4 1 system.
  14. Ah FFs he was the first one I had pencilled in so that I wouldn't forget. Steve Davis will score 3 in season 2014 / 15
  15. He will be on the bench Dog no doubt. Can come on for Gaston and be our creative midfielder at around the 60-70 min mark. got the makings of a good solid mid table side this . If the Koeman boys can pick up their fitness can see us pushing for Europa League posi.
  16. I saw Koeman was doing a few laps. Clearly he thinks he is still capable of playing , dont be surprised to see him partner Fonte on openeing day v Liverpool. Be more mobile than Jos I would think Also, we now have a replacement for Rickie to take free kicks and penalties. Also dont be surprised if brother Erwin starts in the midfield opening day v Liverpool
  17. 100%. I know many on here have high hopes of seeing him before Christmas, but I doubt we will see him before March or April, possibly not even until 2015 season being fully competitive.
  18. I saw that whilst watching fox sports news and nearly spat my wine out. 10 mill too much IMO. Also if we have to, Morgan is valued at double that
  19. I love jay. He has been fantastic for saints, but the amount of people I see not the same or have recurrences really worries me. I really really really hope he makes it back ok without any lingering issues etc but I seriously doubt we will see him back in 2014 and wouldn't be surprised if he does not make it back until March or April 2015
  20. I love it too. If I can find it her in oz I will buy one. That 2012/13 strip makes me want to put my fingers down my throat
  21. I tend to agree... he was a bit average in 2012/13 and like a new recruit in 2013/14. He was very good the past season. so one good season....... Good luck to him but I think it was a good bit of Business by Saints and very much a risk for Liverpool.
  22. As my old coach used to say. "Just go wee man, Get your bags and f**k off"
  23. I don't wish him bad or anything, BUT My thoughts exactly
  24. Well lets hope the player thats coming back in part exchange is Lambert Borini is lightweight
