Post-Match Reaction: Chelsea 1-1 SAINTS
hans gruber replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Agree he was. Be awesome if he was lighter on his feet, he would be up with best then but made some splendid saves. Was a cracker match but definitely deserved a point. That first half was superb. In prior years we could only ever dream about a performance and a result like that versus the champions elect. Very proud -
Agree Mane just made Cahill look like a chump lol

Saints 1 Palace 0 - Post Match Nerve Reconstruction
hans gruber replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
agree with the comment about Palace being a far better team than when we rolled them on Boxing day.... at the moment they are going quite well so a result here is a good result and very important.. funny to see the different views on here about who played well and who didnt.... anyway being in oz never watched the game but will watch it ton ight.. just happy to get the result tbh the amount of times this season liverpoo and spurs have won ugly ... well we were definetley due one thats for sure. -
Me too have told the mrs in no uncertain terms she will be slapped if she purchases any Nivea product... Have suggested that my Gillette stuff should be ok as a substitute though

there fixed that for you

i agree its a super achievement. defensively saints are just so tight, surely they must have allowed the least shots on target this season compared to anyone? also, as tough as it seems scoring goals at the moment, when Fonte hit the woodwork on saturday it was the 14th time this season saints have hit the woodwork ... thats more times than villa have actually scored.

I agree. Qpr were ok but saints were comfortably better. Well done lads -
Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-1 Swansea

you just knew at half time what was going to happen.... it was just meant to be. saints still looked mostly very good in the first half and our competition have a difficult week this week so its super important to get back on track v qpr.... still many a twist to happen this season imo... disappointed, but its not over yet..... -
great little player love his tenacity and willingness to run.... only watched the first half as it was 1am and i needed to get to bed..... seriously made swansea midfield look lazy. reminds me alot of Paul Scholes seriously, hopefully he is half as good as paul scholes and he will be a brilliant player

Good lad jwp. Looks like he has celebrated by going out to the barber shop and gotten a short back and sides

You realise John Sydenham lives in Perth now? He used to be an insurance broker I am sure he had his own company. You could probably easily look him up and ask him yourself! Unfortunately never started supporting saints until early 90's when I decided I liked them because they were financially so limited but somehow always managed to stay up. As opposed to the " normal" teams people supported. Have never seen them play live but hope to remedy that at some stage. I visited the dell in 2000 when I was lucky enough to get a transfer with work from Perth to London, and couldn't believe well how crap it was. Made me love the saints even more

Just finished watching the replay. Fantastic celebration by El jero the Mexican Dutch man. Can tell the boy is grateful that koeman gave him a chance. Love the passion. Not just from him but from the whole club. Reed was fantastic , pelle was very good too, everyone did their job. Fonte has been unbelievable this season now Lovren isn't around to hold him back. Forget anyone else, he is the next person on the banner. Very proud of the boys. Fantastic win. Oh and agree. It was handball by Fonte, but no way the ref could give it after not giving the one a few seconds before.

its a dead set penalty. how many times in the outfield do we see a player with the slightest pull on the shirt, fall over as if they have been shot.... and for the offending player to get a yellow card for said offence.
-
beautiful, just beautiful.....................
-
Fantastic news Great player to have around the club. Also sales of southampton football club merchandise have increased 34% in japan since he first signed for the club
-
Lovren jokes just dont get old
-
despite the fact Yoshi didnt listen to me when I kept screaming at him through my tv to "not give Hazard his right foot!!!" when he scored, he had a very good game.... very useful player to have in the squad imo seriously if you dont think being a Saints fan at the moment is not brilliant, best you go support the team down the road
-
I agree with this. Sadly , way too many penalties are milked the same way. I actually thought the ref had a reasonable game as well. still very proud of the boys, made of alot sterner stuff than what we used to see... Targett looks a very good left back too..... maybe not the same flair as S*aw but the boy will have a very long and useful career me thinks
-
Has been very good Defence has been very solid too. Fan of reed too, sure not an amazing playmaker but he makes the opposition midfielders earn their ball. To be fair all of the boys have played well so far 18 minutes to go.
-
Tbh, been pretty rubbish since "White Men Can't Jump" but sure he could still a job
-
i think you are right.... started off like a house on fire... got found out... but most likely had the the majority of his test career in front of him as he tried to reinvent himself.... he was actually such a nice bloke too if you look at all the interviews he did... everyone here in australia is totally just shocked by it all... apparently an injury that there has only ever been 100 cases ever . didnt know the guy but totally gutted. sean abbot had been playing in the aussie 20/20 team and one day teams of late too... not sure how it will affect him but he's not coping at the moment which you can understand. saying that, i hope the test series against india goes ahead next thursday though not sure seeing some of the footage any of the players will be in the right frame of mind... rip Hughesy

Saints interested in Paulo Dybala says the Mirror
hans gruber replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
hmm not sure what hernandez cost hull, and I know last season dybala was only 19 but palermo were only in serie b, and i'm pretty sure in most games lafferty and hernandez were the preferred strikers... i reckon 4.2 million would be about right . 42 million though.... well pelle is wort 95 million euro then i guess -
I just read that... and whilst i did smirk alot..... i thought "how the f**k did we spend that kind of money on him and get away with it.... anyway for me.... its as clear as daylight that morgan, big vic and even cork as defensive type midfielders were the real reason for Lovren looking a good player... Big Vic is like a "human bus"
-
regardless it was a great celebration was thinking the other day.... whilst i regard that osvaldo goal v man city as one of the coolest highlights of the 2013/14 season... even if pelle didnt score one more goal this season he has proven himself infinetely better than osvaldo....fark knows how pelle never made the italy squad sooner...
