Not all. I've seen a number of reactions over there that welcome the FL's decision, not least because it will unhinge BC - cutting his secured debt down to a size that makes his investment seem hardly worthwhile any more, and reinforcing the need to pay football creditors in precisely the way he said meant he wouldn't continue with the bid. I also get the impression that the numbers are growing who think it'll be best all round to liquidate and start all over again.

Well done. Here's £100m.

Since it's actually relevant I come back to the Kanu 'problem.' At the time that the previous administrator (!!) signed the contract the club are now trying to defraud Kanu out of, the club were under a registration embargo imposed by the Football League. Yet the administrator found a "loophole' - their words, not mine - to get Kanu re-signed anyway. Again here's the link, from 2010: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/contract-loophole-could-benefit-kanu-1-1256309 So the League were doing their bit - it was Birch's professional colleague who subverted them. The club - and the administrator's company - should be shamed (and sued) into paying Kanu's contract in full.
-
And they'll hear two words - the second one being "off".

He knows perfectly well why the penalty has been imposed trousers. He just will not say so in what counts for public. As for journalists - no, not a clue, but then again you need a multimillion-word thread to get your head around the shenanigans down there.

Thanks for the PM Turkish. xx I believe you. -
Yep, he's a proper Churchill. Even up against a terminally unpopular Livingstone he only scraped in for a second term as Mayor, after a disastrous first term that consisted mostly of his aides repeatedly having to ask him to turn up to work.

S4E and now G4S. Why do corrupt companies skimming billions off the taxpayer insist on the number 4?
-
For all the crap being hurled at Kanu right now, I hadn't realised how much PFC and Andronikou (!) had bent the rules to sign him up to his present contract. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/contract-loophole-could-benefit-kanu-1-1256309

No one expects the Pompey Takeover Thread.

Or probably not. Why make up things to vent about?

Bill Gillon @PompeyScot @MatthewLeGod Maybe live up to your name and do some 'research' on the situation eh? Does he know who he's talking to?

Welcome to the dark side. Let me offer you a glass of socialist champers.

Interesting that the Torygraph chose to omit the reference to Kanu in quoting and paraphrasing Birch's 'club statement'. Despite the sense of justice being served, however belatedly, it's still important to recognise that the club-led intimidation of Kanu and others continues. Whipping up PFC fans against him and others is clearly having an effect if you read the reader comments in the News. And as it gets nearer to the crunch, the pressure on these players will be wracked up to such an extent that I think it's entirely possible that were, say, Kanu to show up, he'd place himself at some risk of assault.

trousers, if you seriously think the Tories are in with some sort of chance of gaining an overall majority at the next election, you're off your trolley. The last time they managed it was 1992 - two decades ago. And with Dave's genius, it's still a long, long way off. A quarter of a century with no majority Tory rule sounds good, don't you think?

Virgin Care to take over children's health services in Devon

Whataboutthelibdems? The 'any savings = profit' line always means this: 1) workers whose contracts are transferred experience a massive drop in pay and conditions; 2) some know-nothing CEO will claim a seven figure annual salary +bonuses; and 3) it'll go horribly wrong, this time with children getting sicker, and the taxpayer will have to bail the whole thing out. -
These vastly inflated contracts handed to private scroungers like G4S must be written on the back of a fag packet. It can't be beyond a senior civil servant's imagination, surely, to specify (among other things) minimum employment pay and conditions, as well as stage payments based on satisfactory performance in meeting targets in the lead up to the Olympics.
