  1. Got the feeling we are going to see our first win of the season this afternoon.
  2. Just signed for Sevilla for 20 million euro, just under 18 million pounds.
  3. Deal seems to have fallen through after Sevilla changed their demands and Spartak decided not to sell.
  4. Dutch media reporting that Promes is about to join Sevilla for 21 million euro’s, that makes that something around 19 million pound? Was it Promes that turned us down or Spartak our offer?
  5. Are we playing 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2?
  6. Yesterday Telstar lost 1-0 at home against MVV Maastricht. Seagar started but was subbed in the 69th minute. Telstar usually finish between 8th and 14th, last year they had a exceptionally good season and made it to the first round of the play offs for promotion to the Eredivisie. They lost to the Graafschap who finished 1 place above them.
  7. Today Telstar started their campaign with a 1-0 loss away at RKC Waalwijk, Seagar played the full game.
  8. This exactly. It felt like we were all part of it and like you say we new the players personally. Remember the videos posted on social media contained the players laughing and having fun whilst training. When Rickie scored it almost brought a tear to my eye.
  9. Clasie update: Yesterday the Dutch Eredivisie also started their new season. Feyenoord lost 2-0 away from home at newly promoted De Graafschap (the club we bought Steve de Ridder from). According to Dutch media Clasie failed miserably and looked a fish out of water. They said you could see he hasn’t played regular football for ages and physically he was out of shape.
  10. Is Hughes the problem? He has done well at other clubs and has been around long enough in the PL. I think the problem lies by our player recruitment over the last years, paying to much for reserve players at other clubs. This summer was the first since years we reverted to buying players who were more or less stand out players at their clubs. It’s going to take a while until we can get the balance right with the players.
  11. My guess the line up it looks something like: ———————— McCarthy ——————- —— Stephens ——Vestergaard—— Hoedt —— Cedric ——————————————————— Bertrand —————- Lemina ——————- Romeu ————- ——————————- Armstrong —————————- ——- Redmond ——————————- Austin —————
  12. Against Brighton? Could it have been in the Championship?
  13. Telstar start their campaign next Friday evening. The Dutch second division, the Keuken Kampioen Divisie (in English the Kitchen champions division) mainly play their games on Friday evening. I’ll update this thread every Friday after the game to let you all know how Seagar got on.
  14. Would like to see this line up. ----------------------------McCarthey ---------------------------- Cedric -------- Vestergaard -------- Yoshida --------- Bertrand ----------------------------- Romeu ------------------------------ -------------- Lemina -------------------- Armstrong ------------ ------ Gabbiadini ----------- Austin ------------ Elyounoussi Subs: Gunn, Ward-Prowse, Stephens, Hoijbjerg, Redmond, Targett, Long This game just might be a little to soon for Ings.
  15. 18: Newcastle 19: Huddersfield 20: Cardiff 1: City 2: Liverpool 3: United Saints to finish 14th after a slower start. One of Fulham, West Ham or Wolves is going to struggle with all those new players, my guess is Fulham.
  16. Ht at Feyenoord v As Trencin for the Europa league. Feyenoord 3-0 down away from home. Clasie started but has invisible, can’t remember him touching the ball this game.
  17. Thank you for the training day update
  18. The Times saying that due to Kovavic coming in, Barkley, Drinkwater and Loftus Cheek can look out for new clubs.
  19. Agree with what you say, however Lemina seems like another Boufal. Bags of talent and skills but the wrong mindset and way to many injuries. I am sure he could be a very good player for another club, I doubt it’s going to work out here.
  20. With the UK transfer window closing on the 9th of August and the window in the most of Europe open till August 31. Which players would you sell (if a offer came in) after the 9th of August? knowing we cannot replace them. I would listen to offers for: Forster: obvious reasons. Hoedt: average and with Vestergaard, Yoshida, Bednarek and Stephens as CB options (with Bertrand as emergency back up), we have enough cover. Hoedt doesn’t have stand out qualities. Lemina: bloke is obviously very talented, however it seems like he always has issues, injured, out of form, not bothered. Davis: has done great for us only passed it now.
  21. Anyone got a link to the game? Can’t find it on Facebook or YouTube.
  22. Man walks in to the local chemist and ask for a pack of viagra. The chemist replies: do you have a note from your doctor? Man replies: no, but I do have a photo of my wife.
  23. What I don’t understand is that IF Putin wanted this guy dead, why not get a hitman to go over to this blokes place, shoot him and make it look like a robbery/burglary gone wrong? Why poison him with a Russian made nerve agent, knowing that after tests on the body it’s likely to be found on or in the body? Or make it look like suicide what has happened to others in the past.
  24. After today’s stage Froome has said he will ride for Thomas after loosing 30 odd seconds. If Thomas can get through Fridays stage without loosing time, it’s just the time trial that could stop him loosing the yellow jersey. With him, Dumoulin and Froome being good time trialists, this is going to be a very good stage.
  25. G could have more work to do now Mouscon has been expelled from the Tour. Don’t understand why Sky brought him to the tour, the guy is known for being a bit of an idiot and now he gets expelled after hitting a fellow rider. They should have brought Ian Stannard as he can do the same job as Mouscon. Sky now have to decide which rider has got to do more work for the other. Hope G gets to keep the yellow jersey and wins the tour.
