Yes, and currently assistant manager at Leicester. Probably the most biased commentary I have ever seen. If you have a moment during HT, have a look at the bbc live commentary feed and read what Appleton has to say.
-
Another mistake is our recruitment of players, the board seem to go the ‘West Ham way’ of buying players. All we seem to do is hunt for bargains on the continent and hope they turn out allright. Would like to see us look for raw talent in the lower leagues that suit the way we play (my preferred option would be 4-3-3).
-
It’s a possibility that the board don’t want us to be a club that hires and fires managers one after another (like Leeds and Watford). But wouldn’t the look even more stupid if we go down under Pellegrino, after finishing top 10 in our last 4 seasons?
-
I voted sack him, but could easily have been back him. The only reason I would back him is because I can’t think of a coach/manager that would want to step in at this point in the season. We should have relieved him from his duties back in December. All we can hope for now is that Pellegrino manages to keep us up and he gets the sack shortly after our last game. Then it’s time for a clear out and build a new team with a manager that actually improves players and has some kind of tactical knowledge.

Our (social)media department does well on Facebook.

Maybe O’Neil and Keane fancy having a go till the end of this season. If I am right Ireland aren’t going to the World Cup. Imagine the players putting in a performance like this afternoon and then having to go and face Roy Keane in the dressing room. Would like to see Peter Bosz or Louis van Gaal lift the players and make this squad a team again.
-
Unbeaten since Van Dijk left..
-
Remember that Stephens has scored more then some of our strikers. That said I do hope the next manager improves the players as there certainly is talent in the squad. Coyr go and win the game!
-
With all respect, but the board meeting wasn’t about sacking Pellegrino today or tomorrow. It wouldn’t make sense to let him do the press conference and sack him before the game. If he was to be given the boot it would be Sunday or Monday. Enough time for the caretaker/new manager to prepare for the next match.
-
We need someone who can Bosz the team and get the maximum out of players..
-
-------------- McCarthy -------------- Cedric ----- Stephens ----- Hoedt ---- Bertrand ---- Ward-Prowse ---- Lemina ----- Hojbjerg ---- Gabbiadini ----- Carrillo ------ Tadic If we cannot get through the WBA defence, or they are putting us under to much pressure. Switch to 4-2-3-1 with Lemina and Hojbjerg dropping deeper and Gabbiadini sitting behind Carrillo. Forgot to mention that we need a new manager to make that work.

Pellegrino was straight down the tunnel, could it have been win or bust for him from the board?
-
Could it be we sit back because our fitness levels are poorer then other teams? Following the through live text so cannot see the match.

Dutch media have said we are close to signing Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow, however Loserpool are also interested.

I am going to agree with others who say the recruiment department. After Koeman left they made so bad mistakes. 1) Puel, although I think he is a good coach and tactician, he wasnt the right person for the club. Puel played more conservative then the club had hoped. 2) Pellegrino, unlike Puel I dont think Pellegrino is top class coach. His tactics are negative and poor, and once the opposing team change their tactics/formation during a match he often fails to see it on time. 3) The players, we seem to recrute players on the basis of, does any top club have a squad player they dont need anymore, instead of scouting players that suit the style and way we want to play.
-
I’m worried with who we’ll end up if this is the best Stoke can get. That’s if we decide to terminate Pellegrino’s contract..

New manager effect after Pellegrino’s dramatic departure tomorrow..
-
However if Reed and Krueger don’t take action and we are relegated at the end of the season, they have to explain to Goa why we have X amount of million for tv rights and so on. It might be cheaper to sack Pellegrino and spend some money on a decent manager then going down.
-
If we want to stay up, the club will need to spend the full Van Dijk money on, - new manager, Van Gaal with Clement as his assistant (yes that would be expensive, but Clement might want to work under Van Gaal to gain more experience). - new backroom staff and structure within the club (maybe Cortese wants another crack, he certainly doesn’t tolerate people not giving 100%). - new academy coaches and set up. - new players. Busy month for the club if they are serious about our PL status.

We want you to go We want you to gooooo Mauricio Pellegrino We want you to go

The championship isn’t to bad tbh. More league games, better atmosphere at the grounds, cheaper tickets, return of El Clasicoast, 3pm kick offs etc. Do prefer the Premier League tbh.
-
Sadly I didn’t get to see the match, but did we create and have chances to score?
-
How about this, Reed sacks Pellegrino, announces that one of Van Gaal/Tuchel/Bosz/Rodgers/Rowett is our new manager a day later and gives him 60 million to invest in the squad. Would you still want Reed to resign?

After managing Ajax, The Netherlands and Barcelona (twice), Van Gaal moved to Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar. In the 4 seasons he managed them they finished 2nd, 3rd, 10th and in his final year they became champions for the first time. We are a great club for Van Gaal to manage as we have a good youth setup and there is little pressure.
