Sell/let go: Isgrove, Clasie, Martina, Taylor, Gazzaniga. Buy: Look for a new CB, attacking midfielder, RB. Kongolo at Feyenoord would be a good CB and Klaassen from Ajax for the midfield. I don't play OSM or Fifa so not that familiar with young talent in Europe. Would like to see us buy up and coming talent from the lower leagues. On the exception of the League Cup, the season has been a little disappointing. Would give Puel the summer and a full pre season to get the team playing the way he wants. Maybe add some new back room staff to work with the players.

Started watching Saints in 2002 (when I was 16), so sadly never got to see the Le Tiss years. Ever: Lambert Current: Austin and Van Dijk.

Koeman has won 3 league titles in the Netherlands, 2 with Ajax and 1 very suspect one with PSV. At Ajax Koeman had Ibrahimovic, Sneijder, Van Der Vaart and Maxwell to select. The squad he had was far superior to that of Feyenoord and PSV, anything but the league would have been a massive failure. Up to his time at Feyenoord he was seen as a average manager in the Netherlands. When he was appointed manager at Feyenoord many fans feared relegation. If he had failed at Feyenoord his managerial career would have been over. The last few weeks have been disappointing, but with this squad I doubt Koeman would have done a better job then Puel is now.

I would rather have Davenport playing at CB instead of Caceras

Just had Football Focus on, Lawro and some other bloke (missed his name) were talking about Saints v West Ham. Bloke said about the signing of Gabidiani: Zaza didn't work out with them so there is extra pressure on Gabi to perform
-
Reading Gabbiadini's wikipedia page I just saw his sister also plays as a striker.. I think I'll pass on her https://www.google.nl/search?q=melania+gabbiadini&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjJgqH02erRAhVFExoKHbkHD1kQ_AUICCgB&biw=1366&bih=662#imgrc=_ His goalscoring record seems quite decent and he would bring some extra hight up front.

Good strength coaches, kinesiologists, physical therapists, nutritionists etc. Have the players spend half of the week on the pitch and the other half in the gym and recovery rooms.

Will we see a u23 player make his debut and put in motm performance (like Sims, Stephens and McQueen)? Ryan Seagar back from injury?
-
Slightly oftopic, but wouldnt mind celebrating the victory with the owner of that account..
-
Didn't Pardew roger his misses? Remember that rumour going round just after he was sacked.
-
. Well he's not going to say, glad you f**ked you big head. The team is just like other workplaces, you get on with some, you argue with each other but in the end you all work towards the same goal.

Spartak Moscow interested according to some dodgy football website. Or could Jose be lining up a move to China?

Perhaps Puel should follow Koeman and demand new players
Dr. Kucho replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Expect Koeman to do a interview on transfer deadline day, sitting in his car with Erwin next to him.. -
Where would we be had we kept Mane, Pelle and Wanyama?
Dr. Kucho replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
Mane, Boufal and Tadic as the front 3 would be amazing, the pace and danger from them would scare defenses. Pellet would be useful as a squad player. Romeu is doing a better job then wanyama did last season. Having J-Rod before his injuries is all the current team actually needs. -
Agree that Arnautovic is a good player, but the guy has been a tool and a pain at almost every club he has played at. Would go for Quincy Promes from Spartak Moskou, has pace and can score goals from outside the box. Has 37 goals in 72 in the Russian Premier League.

We tried to explain to him why the players can't play every game on the previous page. All we got was childish responses. Why this prat doesn't get banned for his constant trolling remains a mystery.

You don't understand why 'superman' Andy Murray can play more games then our players. Well let's compare Murray to our players. How many 30/40/50 meter sprints does Murray do during a tennis match? How often is Murray on the receiving end of a crunching tackle? How many kicks against the knees and ankles does Murray get during a match? How often is Murray dragged, pulled and pushed around during a match? How many sliding tackles does Murray make during a match (with the risk that someone stamps on his leg)? Once you have answered these questions, you will realize that comparing tennis players to footballers doesn't make sense. They are 2 completely different sports, and football is way harder for the body. And so the players need more time to recover. Well there you Glasgow/Heisenberg, loads of bites tonight from us.
-
Could be down to several things. VvD is 25 years old, the younger you are, the faster your body can recover. If we compare Redmond to VvD, you see that Redmond has to make more sprints (anarobic exercise) during the match, where as VvD sprints less, but runs more (aerobic exercise). I dont know VvD,s medical records, however if it shows he recovers well and his body can handle the intensity, the club are right to play him. And finally, he is our best player by a mile.
-
I pity your stupidity. However if you werent trolling (seems unlikely), Ill explain the reason why Claude rotates the squad. After 90 minutes of playing football the players will be exhausted, this is not Sunday league where the intensity and speed is much lower. Once the match ends, the recovery process starts. The muscles will be sore and the players will be in pain after recieving kicks and being pushed around quite a bit. Muscle pain (DOMS) takes between 48 and 72 hours to recover, lets say we play on Saturday, that will bring us till Tuesday. massaging might speed the recovery, but wont speed the recovery of the CNS (central nervous system). That brings us to the next point. The CNS takes more time to recover and if we dont give the CNS the time it needs, overtraining occurs. With overtraining the player would start to lose concentration, feel tired, lose sleep (essential for a good recovery) and be more prone to injuries. So if we play Saturday, Thursday and Sunday you see that would simply be too much for a player. In this day and age of football the players have to be quick, strong and able to give 100% for 90 minutes. You can pay them as much as you want, some players have the body and strength to play well in to their thirties, whilst others (think of Robben, Ledley King, Pahars etc) are very talented but dont have the body and strength to cope with the high demands of modern football. You can bring in the best physiotherapists, sports scientists and coaches, but you cant change someones bodytype, joints or nervous system. I do believe with the amount of muscle related injuries we have had, our strength and medical team could do with being reviewed (I could be wide of the mark as I dont know the medical facts and the training the players do).

Quickly scrolling through the comments and was just wondering 'is this forum still being moderated?' Seems like the trolls can say and do whatever the like. Shame really, used to have some good conversations and knowledgeable posters on here. Can anyone recommend a forum where people write their own match reports and sensible conversations are held without trolls ruining the threads?

Yesterday our former right back Jesus turned 38. After retiring from football he has become a model. Dutch football website Voetbalzone has slideshow of photos (from photo nr 5 you can see how jesus looks nowadays). http://www.voetbalzone.nl/inbeeld.asp?uid=292816

Dutch and Italian media reporting De Boer could be on his way out after a string of poor results. Its likely Inter have a caretaker or new manager this Thursday (possible new manager syndrom alert).

Now have injuries s our lack of depth starting to show?
Dr. Kucho replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I think we are doing well on the pitch, losing to Chelsea is no shame, they were very strong yesterday. What does concern me is the amount of injuries we have had so far, McCarthy, Targett, Bertrand and Long all have had hamstring injuries this season. In most cases hamstring injuries are down to weak lower back muscles, glutes and hamstrings. The chance of getting these muscle related injuries can be minimalised with good strength and conditioning, good nutrition and enough recovery time. With the fixture conjestion we have, recovery training (think of myofascial release, low inpact strength training and massaging) and nutrition must be at its best. -
Lawro has us to lose 0-2. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37781121 Would take a draw against Chelsea, some tough games coming up.
