Arsenal to conduct enquiry into their constant injury problems.
Dr. Kucho replied to Window Cleaner's topic in General Sports
Possibly down to poor strength and conditioning coaches at Arsenal. At a recent strength and conditioning course the trainer said every injury that a player picks up, that isnt down to a tackle or collision, is blamed on the strength coach. Player pulls a hamstring, coach should have spent more time with the player training his hamstring or the player hasnt had a decent warm up. If Arsenal players keep getting injuries, it might be time for Arsenal to look for better strength coaches. -
Fulham were poor, how we only ended up scoring 2 goals.

We used to have a government who told porkies so they could start a war.

You raise some good questions Wildsaint. First of all, I am no doctor, just simply used the name of that DJ as a username (liked the sound of it at the time). Second I dont know if the players are overtrained, just named a posibility what COULD be down to our lack of form lately. The symptoms of overtraining/fatigue are lack of concentration, picking up small injuries and exhaustion. The last few games we have seen that our players have been missing oppertunities in front of goal, that could be down to the lack of concentration. I would like to note that my opinion is based on what I have seen during the matches and videos they have uploaded, so obviously I could be well of the mark. Am I more qualified then our coaching/medical/fitness team, I bloody well hope not! I work in sports (for just over 2,5 years, so would say I am still a novice) and have worked with a few athletes. Do hope to get in to S&C and spend alot of time researching and reading about it. The last line of my post that was quoted, I state that I am not that impressed with the strength training I have seen the players doing. The reason I believe that is, that all the strength training the players do seems to be in a group and everyone does the same, also no olympic lifts or heavy compound exercises. That said, if I have overseen that or see photos soon, I will happily retract that statement. So dont quote my posts as someone who is an expert on this, cause in time to come I might retract everything I have just posted and wonder why I wrote such thing

Well I cant arsed to through the whole thread about what certain posters think could be wrong, but this is one possibility why our form has dropped lately. Working in sports I get people who are overtrained and have pushed their bodies to hard for a long period of time, this is what I think has happened to the players too. When you are overtrained, your concentration drops, you pick up injuries and have low energy levels. With our high pressing game and small squad it means we cant rotate and the players have to play many games, and have little time to recover. Older players and player who play almost every game i.e Lambert, Schneiderlin, Fonte and Rodriquez must be absolutely knacked by this stage and would probably struggle till the end of the season, unless they get a break. Under Adkins the players were fit, under MP the players were fitter at the start of the season. But with Adkins history in physiotherapy, I believe he had a greater knowledge of sports periodization and knew when the players needed a rest. Now since MP has been incharge I believe most of the backroom staff has been replaced, and if you dont have a great knowledge of strength and conditioning, then how do you know when someone is a good S&C coach? And based on the training photos the club upload to their Facebook account, I cant say I am that impressed with the strength training the players do.

Chambers, Lallana and Shaw played well, others didnt so. Best team won and thats all whats to be said. The more I see of Suarez, the more I hope he leaves the UK this summer the dirty diving c**t.

Your not a Saints fan and you dont tell the truth, you are just a sad person with nothing better to do then spend his time trolling on a internet forum.

Why dont you just **** of back to POL, and take Glasgow and Barry with you (if you arent all the same person).

Former Dutch footballer Niels Kokmeijer succesfully sued Rachid Buauzon (spelling) for a tackle that ended his career. Kokmeijer at the time played for (at the time second division) Go Ahead Eagles and Buauzon for Sparta Rotterdam. Buauzon was given a suspended jail sentence of 6 months and 200 hours of community service. This is the tackle, I have to say, its pretty horrific and not a nice sight.

Pleased to see some progress with selecting the new board. Would be nice if the club can get the board together in the next few weeks, give MP a new deal and start working on the squad for next season.

Chambers, Targett, Reed and Gallagher named in England U19 squad
Dr. Kucho replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Of the other u19 players, how many of them have made their PL debut for their respected clubs? -
Would You Care If Pochettino Left Tommorow?
Dr. Kucho replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
Yes, he's a good manager and I hope stays here for a long time (unlike some cretins on here). -
And suddenly Glasgow Saint is nowhere to be seen, coincidence?

Congrats to the woman curling team winning bronze. But now to more serious stuff, who's your favourite member of the womans curling team? Wouldn't mind Eve Muirhead coming round one evening for a bit of fun

Here in The Netherlands people are going crazy about the Olympics and especially the ice skating. Its like a world cup with some taking the afternoon of to watch their hopefulls win. The banter at work is hillarious with my colleagues asking me how GB are doing and telling me all about the medals Holland have won. I enjoy watching the skiing and snowboarding, but havent paid that much attention the games, prefer the summer Olympics.

After reading all this negative stuff and why are season is over after the FA cup exit, its time for a topic on why the 2013-2014 season is great. So no whinging, complaining, calling each other happy clappers or trolls, just comment on why this season has been great for you/us. Why this season has been great so far for me, - 1-0 win at Liverpool - 4-1 win over Hull - Drawing 2-2 and outplaying Arsenal for most of the game - Osvaldo,s goal against City - Our style of play - Chambers and Gallagher making their debut

Well, if I had all the time in the world to scour the internet looking for gossip, I would also sound ITK. But I have this thing called work, a social life, other interests and better things to do then spend every second of the day on the internet. Would reconmend you also try to get out more.

Are you capable of playing around 50 football matches in 10 months, plus training and travelling around the country? If doping was legal, I would say yes, the players could play every match.
-
To all who are whinging about the team selection, theres this thing called periodization. When you push your body to max, it needs time to recover. When you dont give it enough time to recover you can get 'overtrained', and as our high pressing game means the players have to be incredibly fit, its likely some players will be nearing that. When overtrained, you become more injury prone, have low energy levels and feel weak. So making all these changes is necessary for the players fitness levels.

Not convinced of Meulensteen as a head coach, but as an assistant he is one of the best around. Wouldn't mind seeing Meulensteen as a coach in our academy.
-
Maya has been in good form lately, but the Lovren/Fonte partnership has worked well most of the season. It will be a hard decision for MP to make.
-
Just like Josh Mceachran, wasnt to long ago Chelsea fans were saying he was the next big thing.

Exactly, lets go and have a look around Arsenals acadamy and offer their best player a place in our acadamy. He is far more likely to break through here and become a better player then at Arsenals acadamy. Adriansfc also makes a good point regarding loans for young players.

What has happened to Crouch? He used seem a decent bloke, now he`s has been a whinging c*nt.
