De Boer has been quoted saying he only wants to go to a club where he can stay for a good few years. I know thats doesnt mean much in football, but he might just come to us and stay for a while.
-
I think it could be John van den Brom they have been talking about. On the exception of a poor time at Anderlecht he has done well at every other club.
-
At the end of 2014 De boer had won the title 4 years in a row. However Koeman performed above expectations with Feyenoord, with a smaller and weaker squad. Before Koeman went to feyenoord he was seen as a poor coach. He had failed at Valencia and Benfica, hadnt set the world alight at Ajax, AZ and Vitesse. Feyenoord saved his career and showed what he could do as a coach. Looking back and I would have chosen Koeman. De Boer is going to be a very good coach, though Koeman had that experience abroad and had just shown he could get a weak squad to play good football.

It could be that Les is dealing with a potential new manager and that its down to lawyers and agents to settle the dispute with Everton. Anyway looking forward to see who our new manager is going to be, hope to see someone who promotes more youth team players. Koeman may say that the academy players werent good enough, but if I remember rightly, Harry Kane didnt set the world alight at his various loans in the lower leagues. A good manager gives the players cofidence and lets them flourish.

Emery, de Boer, Pellegrini, in that order. Jorge Sampaoli as an outsider.
-
Between Cocu and De Boer I would pick De Boer. Cocu did win the league with PSV the last 2 years, but also had a far better squad than de Boer had at Ajax. Mate of mine, who has been a season ticket holder at Ajax for over 10 years, says Frank de Boer likes to promote youth and improves players. He claims on the downside that De Boer let Ajax play boring football (note: Ajax fans demand they play Barcelona style football), and that due to inexperience he at times makes silly mistakes. Its a risk to employ De Boer, but if we cant get Emery, de Boer would be second choice.

Love him or loath him, but at these times we could do with Cortese in charge. He made his mistakes, but its hard to find someone better at the club in negotiating with other clubs.

Have been going through the Dutch media and all are quoting the same guy, Tim de Wit. Been having a quick look into Rob Jansen, Koemans agent. He seems to represent a whole host of players, so could he be in Liverpool for someone else. Jansen did confirm to Fox Sports in Holland last week that he was in negotiations with us for a new contract. So could this all be a trick form him to get us to pay Koeman more? I am surprised it was broken by the Dutch media, would have thought that the tabloids would have broken this story with all their dodgy connections. Will keep my eyes on the Dutch media today (this was my 3rd post, so any updates will come tomorrow)

Telegraaf useally well connected? They are the Dutch equivalent of the Mail and tend to make up their stories. NOS or Nu.nl on the other hand are reliable sources.

Saints are staying in a small village on the Dutch German border called De Lutte, near Oldenzaal and Enschede.

The chav/pikey culture we could without and the fact that its made easy to live of the state. Apart from that no major things imo. We would like to see a end of the love for reality cr@p like Only Essex, CBB and such nonsens. A upgrade on the infrastructure (road and rail) and no more modern style homes and flats. Having lived abroad for most of my life I miss the UK lifestyle. Living on the other side of the channel isnt to bad, but hope to move back to the UK one day.

With 3 teams in the running for the league, I cant decide who I would like to see win it. Have a serious dislike for Arsenal and Whinger for always sniffing around our academy and constantly moaning about everything. Tottenham, well nuff said. I dont mind Leicester and like seeing a club preform well on a smaller budget, though cant stop thinking that could of been us. We have a good squad and a bigger budget then Leicester. Just a shame we lost many points in November and December. Must be Leicester I hope win the League, couldnt stand seeing the other two winning it.

Local Dutch newspaper, De Gelderlander, is linking us, Newcastle and the traditional top three from the Dutch Eredivisie to Todd Kane from NEC Nijmegen. Kane is a right back with pace, likes going forward and can cross a ball in to the box. 22 years old, on loan from Chelsea and according to some after Tete from Ajax the best RB from the Eredivisie. http://www.gelderlander.nl/algemeen/sport/voetbal/clubs-staan-in-de-rij-voor-kane-1.5658259 (in Dutch)

Noticed that since Forster is back, Davis has been on the bench. What has happened to Stekelenburg? Injured or returned to Fulham. With our current form I think we could get something from this game.
-
According to the Independent Tottenham are in for another League One player. Is that our old scout finding all those lower league players? Spuds could be making some serious money if he progresses like Alli.
-
What would you say is our best PL team since being promoted? I would go for: Forster Clyne --- Fonte --- Alderweireld --- Shaw ------- Schneiderlin --- Wanyama --- Rodriquez ------- Mane -------- Lallana ------------- Lambert ------- Subs: Boruc, Bertrand, Lovren, Pelle, Davis, Tadic, Puncheon Manager: Pochettino

What kind of player is he? Position, skills etc
-
Along with the other kid, Slattery I believe his name was. Werent Arsenal and other clubs after him?
-
I am undecided over Koeman. Saw him do some great things at Feyenoord, but fail miserably at PSV, Ajax to a certain extend and Valencia. Last season was great with some very good games and results, especially after losing so many first team players. Deciding between Pochettino and Koeman I would probably choose Pochettino. Koeman seems like a very nice guy, however under Pochettino I prefered the style of play, the fact he brought in many academy players and it seemed the squad was more together. The club would often post pictures of training with the team having a laugh and playing ball games, something I dont see that often anymore. Also a little dissapointed with the players we brought in, think that some are down to Reed, but players like Martina, Pelle, Clasie, Stekelenburg where most likely down to Koeman. I sincerly hope Koeman can turn the tide and some youngsters can be brought forward (only if seem good enough) and get the chance to proof themselves.

The problem is that Jan Kluitenberg is our physical coach, he has a poor track record at other clubs. Its worrying that players such as Clasie and Ramirez struggle to stay fit and many players seem lightweight.
-
Our fitness has been worrying all season imho. Read a interview with Clasie in one of the Dutch papers and he quoted that Jan Kluitenberg is indeed our physical coach. Kluitenberg was sacked by Feyenoord, before he joined us, due to poor fitness of the players (in a league where fitness levels are much lower than in the bpl).

The Belgium motorways are hell. Up till Brussels you would be fine, around Brussels its one big traffic jam, then Brussels till Liege the motorway is in a very poor state. The Autobahn in Germany sadly isnt in the best state either. Apart from that you should be ok. Colonge is a great place.

, writhing in Dutch or English goes allright, but once listing to something in Dutch or English, and having to translate, thats were its gets messy for me. My apologies for some of my spelling at times.

Just to quote myself, the video http://nos.nl/video/714306-koeman--koeman-stelen-de-harten.html Starts with them going back to When Poortvliet and Wotte were leading the and them saying that Staplewood was little run down. Goes on saying how far we have come and that we are second the in the league. Reporter says that unlike our modern redevelped training facilities (where they arent alloud to film) Southampton isnt like barcelone, then names a list of cities Koeman has worked. Koeman says he didnt expect to be here, and that Southampton is your typical English harbour city. reporter says some stuff of little intrest. Koeman goes on saying that the put up pictures of the players in the tunnel. Koeman says he changed the way the players train and that he has introduced the Dutch school of training. Koeman goas on saying that at the first training the positioning of the players and everything about the style and the way we played brought tears to his eyes. The team improved alot and there is more to come says RK. Reporter asks if we in England do stuff different, RK says he lets Sammy Lee do the pre match talk, who uses f*ck alot in it. Erwin Koeman goes on saying that RK has made a name for himself in a short time. Reporter says to Koeman, you want to beat Van Gaal, Koeman replies with yes. Koeman goes on saying that in the UK the manager invites the manager of the opposition round for a glass of whine. Then they go on about the Dutch national team. Reporter asks Erwin Koeman if he and Ronald have the same contract, Erwin says he would like Ronalds contract. Then Ronald says he likes working with his brother.
