  1. Amazed by the amount of people along the route. Have watched the Tour for years, but cant remember seeing that many people, even on the Alp D`uez.
  2. At Feyenoord Koeman has done amazingly well, though nobody expected him to do. However at the Spanish and Portugese clubs he managed, it was less of a succes. And in the Netherlands the opninions on him are divided. Would have mixed feelings if Koeman was appointed.
  3. Apologies for my spelling, in a bit of a rush, but will give the interview a quick translation, The interest of Southampton in Ronald Koeman is becoming more serious (this sentence sounds so wrong). Jos Hooiveld hopes the club brings Koeman to the PL, he says in a interview with VI (dutch football magazine) A year and half ago we changed our style of play, it has become smarter and more fluent. As a small club in the PL we try to play neat football and play a high line. Koeman would suit the club, the 31 year old defender says. During my holiday on Ibiza I spoke to feyenoord players Ruben Schaken and Samuel Armenteros, both spoke highly of him. Hooiveld, who fell out of favour with MP, hopes the new manager will give him a new chance. With the departure of MP and a new manager coming in, everyone starts with a clean sheet. And maybe another player will leave, cos if you have to believe the English press, we are going to lose many more players. We would be lucky if we have 11 players at the start of the season. Hope this makes sense now. In other words, nothing has really been said. Dutch media do seem to think we are about to appoint Ronald Koeman, and that he will bring forward Graziano Pelle with him, for around 8 million pounds.
  4. Koeman was great at Feyenoord the last few seasons, with very little money he finished second in the league twice. However his time at Valencia, AZ and to a certain extent Ajax werent very successfull. At Feyenoord he played many youth players and had to sell his best players at the end of the season. Frank de Boer wont happen, IF the club somehow is able to get him, MP will be forgotten very soon.
  5. Could THFC make me hate them even more? Not sure if that is possible. Gutted if/when MP leaves, but have faith in the board that they will find a good replacement.
  6. Worst has to Katowice, like stepping 30 years back in time. The road from Katowice to Karkow wasnt great either. Copenhagen has a good airport, very well organised. Gatwick isnt to bad either.
  7. In his time at Ajax Stekelenburg was a very good keeper, however he seems to have stalled in his progress. I Agree with Martini that we should go for him, with a bit of confidence and a solid back 4 he could return to his previous best.
  8. Gazza to stop a penalty, make world class saves and Guly to come on in the 90th minute and score the winner. How I hope this will happen. If I remember rightly in Gazza,s last game for us, he made some very good saves. Come on kid, you can do that again today!
  9. Some of our one touch passing was simply amazing. Rodriguez and Lallana are def going to Brazil this summer, and mr Krueger, please get MP to sign a new long term contract. City will be tough next week, but play like this and who know.
  10. I cant be bothered to read the whole thread, this might have been said, but hope MP stays for a long time. He might have made some mistakes etc, but we have changed managers to often the last few years. With MP we have a good young manager and with a manager in charge for a while, he can build a strong squad. The players also seem to like him.
  11. Sorry to hear about your dog Gemmel. Had to have my cat put sleep last Wednesday, absolutly devastated. Does seem the older you get the harder it is, had him for 13 years and it will take some time to get over the fact he isnt around anymore.
  12. I hate Spurs so much. This game tops a bad week for me (had to have my cat put to sleep).
  13. Possibly down to poor strength and conditioning coaches at Arsenal. At a recent strength and conditioning course the trainer said every injury that a player picks up, that isnt down to a tackle or collision, is blamed on the strength coach. Player pulls a hamstring, coach should have spent more time with the player training his hamstring or the player hasnt had a decent warm up. If Arsenal players keep getting injuries, it might be time for Arsenal to look for better strength coaches.
  14. Fulham were poor, how we only ended up scoring 2 goals.
  15. We used to have a government who told porkies so they could start a war.
  16. You raise some good questions Wildsaint. First of all, I am no doctor, just simply used the name of that DJ as a username (liked the sound of it at the time). Second I dont know if the players are overtrained, just named a posibility what COULD be down to our lack of form lately. The symptoms of overtraining/fatigue are lack of concentration, picking up small injuries and exhaustion. The last few games we have seen that our players have been missing oppertunities in front of goal, that could be down to the lack of concentration. I would like to note that my opinion is based on what I have seen during the matches and videos they have uploaded, so obviously I could be well of the mark. Am I more qualified then our coaching/medical/fitness team, I bloody well hope not! I work in sports (for just over 2,5 years, so would say I am still a novice) and have worked with a few athletes. Do hope to get in to S&C and spend alot of time researching and reading about it. The last line of my post that was quoted, I state that I am not that impressed with the strength training I have seen the players doing. The reason I believe that is, that all the strength training the players do seems to be in a group and everyone does the same, also no olympic lifts or heavy compound exercises. That said, if I have overseen that or see photos soon, I will happily retract that statement. So dont quote my posts as someone who is an expert on this, cause in time to come I might retract everything I have just posted and wonder why I wrote such thing
  17. Well I cant arsed to through the whole thread about what certain posters think could be wrong, but this is one possibility why our form has dropped lately. Working in sports I get people who are overtrained and have pushed their bodies to hard for a long period of time, this is what I think has happened to the players too. When you are overtrained, your concentration drops, you pick up injuries and have low energy levels. With our high pressing game and small squad it means we cant rotate and the players have to play many games, and have little time to recover. Older players and player who play almost every game i.e Lambert, Schneiderlin, Fonte and Rodriquez must be absolutely knacked by this stage and would probably struggle till the end of the season, unless they get a break. Under Adkins the players were fit, under MP the players were fitter at the start of the season. But with Adkins history in physiotherapy, I believe he had a greater knowledge of sports periodization and knew when the players needed a rest. Now since MP has been incharge I believe most of the backroom staff has been replaced, and if you dont have a great knowledge of strength and conditioning, then how do you know when someone is a good S&C coach? And based on the training photos the club upload to their Facebook account, I cant say I am that impressed with the strength training the players do.
  18. Chambers, Lallana and Shaw played well, others didnt so. Best team won and thats all whats to be said. The more I see of Suarez, the more I hope he leaves the UK this summer the dirty diving c**t.
  19. Your not a Saints fan and you dont tell the truth, you are just a sad person with nothing better to do then spend his time trolling on a internet forum.
  20. Why dont you just **** of back to POL, and take Glasgow and Barry with you (if you arent all the same person).
  21. Former Dutch footballer Niels Kokmeijer succesfully sued Rachid Buauzon (spelling) for a tackle that ended his career. Kokmeijer at the time played for (at the time second division) Go Ahead Eagles and Buauzon for Sparta Rotterdam. Buauzon was given a suspended jail sentence of 6 months and 200 hours of community service. This is the tackle, I have to say, its pretty horrific and not a nice sight.
  22. Pleased to see some progress with selecting the new board. Would be nice if the club can get the board together in the next few weeks, give MP a new deal and start working on the squad for next season.
  23. Of the other u19 players, how many of them have made their PL debut for their respected clubs?
  24. Yes, he's a good manager and I hope stays here for a long time (unlike some cretins on here).
  25. And suddenly Glasgow Saint is nowhere to be seen, coincidence?
