Agree with you that the decision was technically correct according to the laws of the game. I don’t think that means it was applied within the spirit of the law. You have to look at why the law was written. If the defender had played a sloppy back pass towards the goalkeeper then I’d agree it’s a new phase of play but for the attacker to be able to pounce from an offside position as soon as the defender takes a deliberate touch encourages play that the offside law was brought in to stop.

Agree with this. Think it’s clear there’s a distinction to be made between players showing solidarity in their belief black lives matter and the organisation Black Lives Matter. That’s ridiculous. How can it only apply to domestic games? UEFA need to ensure that Klopp’s boys are not disadvantaged in the Champions League and implement all the rules suggested there as well. On top of that, Liverpool should be able to have fans back at Anfield at maximum capacity to create that famous atmosphere that we all love to see inspire the players to Champions League glory.

Doubt very much that they’re thinking about their players’ welfare. This is all about money. No League Cup and 4 less EPL games frees up a few weeks where the top 6 can play big money friendlies in China and USA.
