  1. Papa is Pope??
  2. I wouldn't have started with Green anyway, but no I wouldn't drop him - everyone makes mistakes and he has nothing to lose from now on! Only way is up. I think Hart is the best goalie in terms of ability but lacks experience which the Pompey bloke makes up for therefore I'd have picked him, despite his bad taste in clubs
  3. Trying to be realistic I don't think Kelv would have played more than he had to at West Ham i.e. only the games when Green was injured. As soon as Green came back he would have regained the no.1 jersey, so Kelv really would only have played a handful of games, therefore wouldn't even be in contention, just as he's not whilst he's playing regularly for us here two leagues below
  4. Agree with all of that yeah
  5. Lee Hughes won't give Rickie any sort of competition, and chicken legs Pitman will perhaps get into double figures but he's no more than a League One player - attitude and workrate will prove that
  6. Love them for what they did in saving us and making us financially healthy, ambitious future etc. but starting to see some slightly worrying developments. Hard to put my finger on it but I don't think people have quite as much confidence and respect for Cortese already, and they have only been here for a season. Listening to the fans more and rewarding them would help as he seems to be a very ruthless business man who is stubborn and only does what he wants to do - he's not going to listen to anyone else but has to understand that the voice of the fans is a loud voice
  7. Yeah this whole booking fee thing really is a bit of an unnecessary add-on. I mean they say they are adding £2 onto matchday tickets to cut down on people buying on the day but then they say oh we are going to charge £3 to book via phone or online! What's the deal there?! Or have I just got it wrong? Cba to read the stupid OS again, got annoyed reading the article first time around.
  8. I'm just glad they got promoted and not Rotherham - what a long treck up to a dump that would have been
  9. Didn't even watch the game but heard it was pants. Sorry, just can't get into supporting England like i do the Saints. But that's a different issue...
  10. Couldn't agree more. Millwall would have been more of a threat at the top next season. Time for some payback Swindon
  11. Hey! You nicked my name!
  12. I remember reading FourFourTwo many years ago and an article on the most promising young players in world football. Wayne Rooney was at number 2 and guess who was at number 1...yes, Mr Adu! He was said to have more potential and a bigger future than Rooney so don't know what on earth has happened over the years to mean he just hasn't come anywhere close to what was predicted of him. Nonetheless, I would still be delighted with the signing, as obviously the ability is there...somewhere.
  13. They wouldn't be able to sell 29,000 season tickets anyway, as the OP suggests, as don't they have to have a certain amount of tickets kept for fans buying for individual games? Otherwise teams like Man Utd etc. would just sell 70,000 season tickets no problem, but they always have tickets left over for fans buying on the day or in advance for a certain match
  14. Pompey going on a tour of the US of A is just crazy! That will be a nice treat for all the kiddies before they get battered in the Championship. Hopefully they will fly back to a big points deduction, too, which is what they deserve. Either that or they're running away from all the mess that their club is in
  15. Wouldn't get very excited if we signed him, getting on now and has had far too many injuries in recent years. The next Graeme Murty springs to mind if we did sign him
  16. Superb defender and also a top pro, wish more players these days had an attitude like his. Consistent, reliable and never had a bad game. Good luck Chris
  17. 42,000 expected according to the ticket office, should be a good one!
  18. No. I'm just glad we don't have a player like him or Joey Barton in our team, would be almost impossible to cheer c**ts like that
  19. I would sign on Jon for a year, Murts and Perry on very low wages as back-ups, Bart, and DC for another year.
  20. This made me laugh! Well done Rickie, can't wait until next season to see you top the 35 goals (or more), richly deserved award.
  21. Today simply confirmed that Antonio is better than Papa, and it's hard to see how there is any debate about this! I don't mind Papa at all and love him for his crucial goals in the JPT run, but he isn't as quick as Antonio, can't beat a man like Antonio, and crosses probably about as well/poorly as Antonio! Yeah would be good to have them both, but if I had to choose one then there's no question!
  22. Wasn't it good old Jan who said Holmes was the new Robben?! I remember getting excited about this at the time, oh dear!
  23. Couldn't stop laughing when I saw this yesterday! What a bunch of jokers!
  24. Nah let Hammond play the deeper role and put Puncheon or Lallana in the centre as the playmaker, leaving Antonio on the right wing and Barnard back in up front. COYR!
