  1. I assume Koeman looked at the Man City attack and thought that a CB with a bit of pace (Yoshida) would be better to deal with their attacks than one who might be more suited to a team knocking it long (Gardos)? Plus Gardos struggled a bit at Stoke in the cup, whereas Yoshida has been quite good when he is has played so far this year.
  2. Not a fan? Yoshida played well for us for the first few weeks of the season before Alderweireld came in. I wouldn't want him to start for us, but if you believe we can get much better to sit on our bench, you're wrong.
  3. As long as it isn't threats, incitement to violence, libel/slander, people should be able to say or write whatever they want, regardless of if anyone else is offended.
  4. I agree we should have held on to him as an option off the bench, but I don't think the club can be criticised for not managing or showing patience with him as a whole.
  5. Exactly that.
  6. So the rule is a 3 year old Daily Mail article with quotes from Alex Ferguson?
  7. To be fair, if Man City had sold out the full away allocation, then Sunday would have been a sell out. Poor atmosphere though and lots of tourist types. Even saw a few half and half scarves being worn!
  8. What exactly does this "2 feet forward" rule say?
  9. Him not wanting to give up his wages is the only thing I can see that would keep him on our books. Just depends how important that is for him versus his career completely stagnating.
  10. What was dangerous about it? Would never be a red.
  11. I'd have kept hold of him, as we're lacking strength in depth and would have given us the option of something different off the bench. It's not like he's been starting every game for Hull. But ultimately, I expect him to be sold to an Italian or Spanish team in the summer for £4-5m, he's just not quite suited to the English game and his career is stalling.
  12. Oh who gives a f**k, sorry it upset you that much
  13. I had Radio 5 on at the end of last week and they had a couple of Aussie Sports Journos on there and they were discussing/suggesting the possibility of banning the bouncer. It won't happen, but it is something that is mooted.
  14. I've stated before that I think it'll take him longer to settle than our other new signings; no pre-season with us, not played in a decent league previously, travelling back and forth to Africa, needs to get used to the physical side of the game, still young. But we can't sustain too many spells like the last two games, always expect him to blow hot and cold, but need more from him than what we've got last few games. Long to start ahead of him for me.
  15. I don't think anyone expects us never to lose, but we weren't great yesterday and people are just stating that, some players were below par, and that's one of the things these forums are for. Man City were excellent, and they look like they could properly push Chelsea all the way, I thought the title race was over, but they did look very strong yesterday. I think that Bayern game definitely gave them a lift, they looked on a high. What I found frustrating is we played similar to how we'd done at Villa; moved the ball too slowly and so wasteful with corners and set pieces from good positions, ridiculous number of wasted crosses in both games, I'm not sure what the solution is there though. I thought Alderweireld was excellent, top, top, class player, really was very good for us.
  16. Best player across both teams, Toby Alderweireld, different class. I can't see him being with us in 12 months time. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_217 using Tapatalk
  17. Mane poor again for us, Long so much better . Tadic really poor. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_217 using Tapatalk
  18. Ultimately I thought we were poor, slow, didn't commit or engage, but Man City looked buzzing from beating Bayern's, they looked faster and hungrier. Sent from my RM-875_eu_euro1_217 using Tapatalk
  19. There is also a good double page interview with Erwin Koeman in today's Sun, lots about him and his brother growing up together etc.
  20. Good stuff. Anyone else see the Sky build up/coverage for Sunday's game? Really bigging us up and an interview with Fonte, but I didn't catch it all?
  21. I can't stand that song.
  22. I don't think either can PM you as they're both "Registered Users".
  23. That's not really the law of supply and demand.
  24. Over the last 2 or so seasons, how many players cut Shaw to pieces?
  25. Only loosely? I'd say the obey the laws of supply and demand the same as any other industry unfortunately.
