  1. Apologies if already posted
  2. I see their halfway through the athletes coming in, I turned on just in time to hear that ex F1 driver Alex Zanardi is in the Italian Paralympic team, I think he's doing the wheelchair racing. Couldn't C4 have done the athletes parade without adverts though? It's a bit sad their missing some countries out during the ad breaks IMO
  3. That'll be music to our ears
  4. Delighted with this signing, Mayuka and Chris Katongo were the two best players in the African Cup of Nations at the beginning of the year. Can't wait to see Mayuka's goal celebration at St Mary's as well
  5. After the first half we had 40% possession. At full time we had 62%. We owned the second half.
  6. In Delroy Facey's 15 year professional career he's played for 14 different clubs, and that doesn't include Hull shipping him out on loan for a 2nd stint at Huddersfield.
  7. As far as I can see they will either avoid it this season and start next season with -10 (as they'd have to be out of admin by then) or get taken over this season, come out of admin and take the -10 this season. The -10 though relates to CVA1 though I believe?
  8. I think Cork and Lee coming back will be significant. Cork is experienced at this level and Lee has always impressed me. He also has pace which we are lacking at the moment

  10. He hired a PR firm and they all made the mistake of posting from a traceable subnet and were outed. There have also quite a few pro-Crouch PR plants on here and Wilde even posted on here himself at one stage. Lowe did a good job up until when he lost the plot around Strachan's departure. He did a good job of running the club on a shoestring but ultimately let himself down with stupid decisions at crucial times and failing to endear himself to the fans. Michael "we got our club back" Wilde was no better and it was when Lowe, Crouch and Wilde were squabbling in the boardroom that I knew the club wasn't going anywhere until all 3 were out of the club and a white knight arrived.
  11. Wouldn't make a blind bit of difference if religion disappeared. A lot of these incidents are as much if not more to do with culture as opposed to religion. And CB Saint is spot on. Also people's general ignorance of different religions/cultures is a big factor, only yesterday whilst watching the Saints game did Nasri I think? lift his shirt and reveal 'Eid Mubarak' when City scored one of their goals, only for the Sky commentator to say something along the lines of "The authorities don't take too kindly to players making political statements"
  12. Watched it on sky and thought we were brilliant. When we went 2-1 up I didn't care what happened after that, I was just so happy and encouraged by the performance. Play like that against Wigan and we'll win. Great to see Lambert get off the mark straight away and Steven Davis on his league debut. Only concern for me is KD, I'm not convinced he is good enough at this level. I think we should see how he does until January and then buy a better keeper if necessary. His distribution and command of his area just aren't good enough and at this level it is just going to get found out. Still, he more than deserves a chance in the PL and barring a complete disaster I'm happy to back him as our number 1 for now.
  13. As he came on a skate friend of mine bet me 200 quid he wouldn't reach 10 goals this season. Then just as we shook on it Lambo had it in the back of the net 9 to go
  14. Got quite a few mates who are Skates. Pompey do have more than their fair share of mongs but they do have a lot of supporters who are genuinely nice people
  15. You don't also have a feeling that we'll win tomorrow by any chance?
  16. LOL why? Cos Birch says so? I seem to remember Birch being confident they wouldn't get a points deduction last season. . .
  17. Anyone else heard this?
  18. Plymouth have had 6 shots on goal in 9 mins
  19. On C4 right now there's a program titled dole queue cheats or something but it's actually very damning of the job centre. So far they've had a couple of guys doing experiments where one of them wrote his shopping list where he was supposed to provide proof of how he was looking for work and it wasn't even checked. Another women organised her own unpaid work experience and had her benefit stopped because the centre didn't bother to check with the company about the arrangement.
  20. First half hour has been dire. "run out of ideas" springs to my mind. This flag bit looks more promising though
  21. Christ, are all they going to do is dig up celebrities all night? Apparently we've got the Spice Girls to come yet
  22. Bit of a shame he turned into Phil Taylor's PR machine in his later years but a big loss to darts. He had an amazing knowledge of the game. RIP Sid
  23. Their blaming human error on the body not being found earlier. I suspect a junior officer has been summoned to the Super's office. . .
  24. In the 70s and 80s everyone knew the East German athletes were juiced up on steroids but the problem was the IOC didn't have the technology to prove it back then, and had no legal grounds to disqualify them. Some of the female athletes were even starting to grow moustaches and one female shot putter was pumped with so much steroids she had to have a sex change in later life. The technology only advanced sufficiently just before the Berlin Wall came down, and this is what caught Ben Johnson out in '88. Some of the ex-East German athletes have since tried to sue the company who supplied the drugs. It's also a well know fact Carl Lewis failed 3 drugs tests (and he wasn't the only US athlete) shortly before the '88 Olympics and the US team turned a blind eye, letting him compete anyway. I don't expect the US female relay team are on drugs for one moment but it's incredibly ironic how individuals from the US make allegations about other countries drug testing procedures as a result of other countries incredible performances then don't wish to comment when members of their own team start smashing world records. Fair play to Usain Bolt for saying what he thinks.
  25. You mean the same Carl Lewis who failed multiple drugs tests in the 80s which the US Olympic Committee turned a blind eye to? I'd also be interested on his opinion regarding the US 4x100m ladies relay team, who smashed the 17 year old world record by half a second the other night. This world record being previously held by the East German team from the mid 80s, and it's long since been public knowledge they were drugged up to their eyeballs on steroids.
