“We need to score more because with all the chances, you can lose the game like today and it’s a big disappointment because they did strong work." Puel on the OS
The penny has finally dropped then.
I agree, some of the matches I saw at The Dell between 1979 and 1984 leaves todays football standing. Ok it might be looking through old rose tinted glasses but some of the stuff we saw, a 4-1 demolition of Notts Forest in 79 is the one that instantly springs to mind, was sublime.
I know, you are preaching to the converted, you missed out the bit about the Academy was in good shape before he arrived, just look at Le Tiss, Shearer, the Wallaces.....
Very true but the dickheads who started that song and joined in wouldnt know that, probably dont know where Liverpool is.
It was pretty shameful to hear it, fortunately it was pretty well isolated and brief.
I think the tactics will be to keep things tight, get a draw and Puel will think we can sneak a 1-0 at Anfield.
I just cannot see us going for it in the way the other teams who have upset Liverpool have done.
Hope I'm wrong of course.
He refers to not picking Fonte and having stability in defence.......I must have been mistaken in my assumption that the defence has been rotated as much as every other part of the team then !
The guys English is **** poor, he rabbits on forever digging a deeper and deeper hole when being interviewed.
im not crazy about him either but let's not start dissecting every single word and trying to work out what he's on about because most if not all of what he tries to say is lost in translation.
It's very plausible, Puel did take an eternity to come out for interviews after the WBA game, as per Solent and of course there was the Everton Chairman chat !
i don't know if anyone noticed at the Spurs game when Puel made his substitutions Fonte just put his hands out in front of him and shrugged his shoulders, it looked a real 'What the hell" moment.
A Gordon Strachan trained team would have had no issue with our Xmas schedule. He had them the fittest I have ever seen from a Saints squad in nearly 40 years of watching them.
