The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..
beatlesaint replied to SB's topic in The Saints
You will get crucified for mentioning Adam Hammill on here, although I agree with you, he is proven in the league and my Barnsley supporting mate often says he was by far and away their best player. Be useful cover if we could get him on loan. -
He needs a decent run in the team, not just 30 mins here, a game there then another 15 min appearence. No coincidence that his best two games for us were in back to back matches and its a shame he got an injury cos he could have played about 6 games in a row by now and then its easier to judge him. I think he has the potential to be good, but NA doesn't seem to trust him.

Totally agree, next Tuesday against Cardiff is the crucial game to keep that gap between automatic promotion and play-offs to about 4 or 5 points.

If you go back to my original post I said Falque to play on the left or failing that move Fox up and play Harding. Its not an obsession with playing full backs in midfield, its simply called an option...thats O P T I O N, ok ?
-
Swap them around then :-)

Best bit of business Southampton have ever done
beatlesaint replied to Crazy Diamond's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't include Hurst and not too sure about Reid, he wasn't bad for us short term, but the other 4 idiots without a shadow of a doubt were abysmal. -
Looks like we signed the boy from Spurs just in time then ! Failing that play Harding at left back and push Fox into left midfield.

In a similar vein getting Lallana from Bournemouth. -
Well 25 mins in and he is making Walcott look like the novice.

Oh gve me strength, you are either a wind up merchant or you have an agenda. Its been pointed out what is wrong about what he has done/said. If you cant see it then I think it says more about you than anything else to be honest. Sorry but.....hey even the thread title is a clue !
-
Who has mentioned the sack ? Oh, you have.....ok, well he has probably not said anything to get him the sack as such, but referring to his boss as Nicolina in the public domain probably isnt the wiseest thing he could do..... is it ?
-
Tell you what, open a Twitter account, slag off your boss on it and then let your boss see what you have written about him and see if he thinks you have every right to "express your frustrations" :-)
-
He wasn't.

How the hell has it been unresolved for a year ? He hasn't played for the club since then, he has been shipped out on loan, he is training with the kids cos they dont want him as part of the first team squad and they want to get rid BUT only for the right price otherwise he can rot in the reserves. Whats wrong or unresolved about that ?

All this talk of what has JP done and what hasn't he done......lets just remember when he came back from Millwall on loan last January he was bought back into the first team fold immediately and played against Blackpool in the FA Cup. The following midweek there was an away game, JP was in the squad but refused to go because in NA's words "His head wasn't right". To me, thats where and when Cortese started playing hardball with the player. He had basically refused to travel or be selected presumably as a sub. So forget all this stuff about Markus's memorial service (I was there and I dont care what anyone else says he did give off a dont care attitude as the players filed past us and out the church, Connolly at the other extreme was very tearful) the bottom line is he refused to play for his employers and that, in many people's eyes, most certainly Cortese's, was that. The boy has bought all this upon himself and I hope he does get fined for his little Twitter rant.

I love your confidence and would love you to be right.
-
Nope, its not you thats mental :-)
-
Are Spurs interested in him as well then ?
-
Dont know but if you have Sky you can watch it on Channel 985.
-
Incredible isnt it ? If he helps us to the premiership then goes back to his club so what ? Its football, it happens.
-
Tongue in cheek comment I assume.
-
a winger who can play on the left or right !! Excellent :-)

Our last stay in the top League lasted 27 years, hardly dropping in and out is it ? Now if we had a League with 6 teams in it then fair enough........

Hooiveld's block, the sending off and Coterill having a hissy fit
beatlesaint replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
Totally agree on both counts.......oh and that block by Jos was superb. -
The point you have overlooked though is that he has played in virtually all the games in which we have been, in your word, awesome. I'm not sure thats a coincidence.
