Will Saints still be Top of the League after todays games
beatlesaint replied to John B's topic in The Saints
If Maynard wants to come here he should bloody well score against Cardiff so we stay top for a couple more days -
Lets hope they put in a £1.99 bid that NC accepts then. Cant criticise him for finding toucj with goal kicks cos Kelvin had a spell of doing that a while back !
-
I'll second that Daren !!!
-
You should have heard the FL chairman's reasoning behind it, hilarious !
-
Not really. Played 120 minutes Tuesday night, drove down here Wednesday so i suspect he has had one maybe two training sessions with us only.
-
We really do yeah

To say I am surprised that Seabourne is playing is an understatement.

Carling Cup 2nd Round - Bristol City / Swindon Away
beatlesaint replied to jim_bergerac's topic in The Saints
Well considering they wont play until the 2nd round date at least we will know who we get in the 3rd round if we win :-) -
What ?
-
and that "decent save" he gives Bart scant parise for was actually superb....and his distribution is always excellent.
-
Well if they cant afford him stop buggering about and lets go buy us a centre half to partner Fonte !
-
Its a good thought but the away team has a say in ticket prices for these games. Saints may well have wanted to pitch the prices lower but Torquay probably didnt. I dont think they would have been very pleased to have seen say 18000 in the ground and only taken home £75 in gate receipts
-
Not sure they have. Several texts on Solent last night from Poopey fans were blaming Cotterill and saying he's manager, he should sign players ! Are they so thick that they dont realise the club still dont have a pot to **** in and cannot afford players. Its hardly Cotterill's fault. Having said that I love to listen to him bleating on Solent most weeks on my way home from St Marys....you can almost hear the violins starting up in the background everytime he comes on, hilarious !
-
Not sure Torquay warrant a large Police presence in the first place.
-
If I was a player and the fans were continually singing about a guy who retired 10 years ago I would be well ****ed off. Once or twice is fine IMHO.
-
Are you being serious ? We didnt have a single song for Mick Channon or Terry Paine.......
-
Absolutely, and we can even play 4-3-3 if needs be.
-
You can tell you are the club historian as you always manage to put a pessimistic slant to your posts. Years of Saints letting you down have sent you over the top I reckon ;-) I dont agree by the way.
-
I agree with you. Years ago the fee was always quoted, never heard this undisclosed business.
-
I have never defended Lowe but the fee he got for Dean Richards was excellent and he had no choice with Theo due to his age so he did well to get what he did.
-
I wish him well, its just a shame his Dad didnt put his footballing education before the money.
-
Hardly surprising. Their captain off to Barcelona, Nasri off at the end of the season, Clichy gone, no decent goalkeeper or centre half, forward to partner VP sadly lacking.....oh and they will need a quality midfield player to replace Fabregas. So Wenger buys a 17 year old who has never played above League 1....and that was for half a season. Would you be happy ?
-
He's a great talent, no doubt about it BUT we didnt miss him one bit at the end of last season with the run in we had, we didnt miss him Saturday, and as has already been stated on here he is not pivotal to the way we play. De Ridder has not come here to warm the bench, we would not pay "a significant fee" as the OS worded it for him to be a reserve. I think the Chamberlain's are missing a significant point or two in their obsession to make a few quid. One is that he hasn't played above League One standard yet and secondly by going to Arsenal he will be playing in the reserves every week, with maybe a bit part in the League Cup games. His development would be better served playing in the Championship every week and coming up against better defenders than he has been used to. But thats up to them, if Daddy wants him to go and has convinced Alex that he should then fine, thanks and good luck son. But at least NC has ensured we get a good deal out of this and the money, I am convinced, will go straight back into new signings either now, in January or next close season.

She's crap and a glory hunter, dont big her up mate FFS ;-)
-
Maybe but IF he stays fit he will have to be one hell of a player to be better than Connolly......and why offer Barnard a longer contract when he still has another year to run anyway ?
