  1. Oh he is............he is slow, his tackles are wreckless, his positional play is poor, he is not commanding in the air.... He has a long long way to go, even for League 1. Its a shame but thats how it is unfortunately.
  2. I dont think he has a problem with his salary, I think its just the prospect of playing in League 1.
  3. Offer from other club according to Echo. Thing is with Rasiak, will a Championship club (cos i assume thats who it would be) be willing to meet his current wages ? Its a big stumbling block it seems otherwise surely with his track record in the Championship he would have been snapped up long before now.
  4. Didnt mind using our facilities and a few friendly matches to get himself fit(tish) for a new club did he ?
  5. Well thats right. IF this is true I wonder what McCarthy is basing this signing on ? He has played a handfull of games for us and a few for S****horpe or Scarboro or whoever it was ( )......hardly good grounding for the premiership !
  6. Is this because he wants to go cos AP said nobody had to leave now unless they didnt want to play for SFC ?
  7. Considering Hearts are one of the top Scottish teams I am amazed the result did not even get on Sky Sports ticker tape thingy.
  8. I understand and appreciate what you are saying but is that a bad thing ? I think you have been punch drunk by the goings on at Southampton over the past few years. At some point we have to trust somebody to be custodian of this club for the next generation, and lets face it we sure as hell couldnt trust the last incumbent. I dont really know why you think we as fans should have rights as such. The right to walk away if you dont like whats going on is and will always be there, as it was last season when the old duck hunting chap came back and many walked. I dont have any say in how Asda is run but it wont stop me shopping there. As a PLC the shareholders had rights and look at the god awful mess that got us into. If we had been taken over by one of these Far East tycoons with a dodgy past then yeah, your concerns would be right....but i think ML has shown already that he is not here to make a quick profit then get out of town.
  9. So when people on here slag off Lynam, in reality as he was acting as nothing more than the middle man or broker, he was conned as much as MLT and Leon Crouch. Could people kindly remember that then before telling him to **** off from this site etc. You wouldnt tell Matt to go forth so spare this guy who was genuinally, i believe, doing what he thought was right and proper for the future of SFC.

    Harding

I thought he looked good both going forward and defensively......certainly not bad for a first game. Mind you he is a left footer playing as a left back which at Southampton is almost unheard of these days
  11. With all due respect that is a ridiculous statement.
  12. Jermaine Wright is much better than Wotton.
  13. Not at all....but I think you may have jumped the gun a little. Lets see if the situation is no better 2 weeks from today - then you may have a point but AP has had one week, there are two more before the season starts.......more to the point lets see what the squad looks like when the transfer window closes on 31 August.
  14. Fortune would be a good signing too. Played for Charlton in the Prem, must still be quite a young age. I think he has had some injury problems but if fit would be good for this League.....and thats what we need to remember, players who would be good for this League cos in reality its probably going to take a minimum of 2 years to get out of it. Players for the Championship and beyond come later
  15. They arent bad for a league One side starting with -10 points
  16. AP would not have been attracted here without being told there will be money to spend as and when he wants it, within a sensible bracket of course. You arent going to go on TV/radio and say "Markus has told me he has 3 billion Euros in his back pocket and I can spend as much as I like" As someone has already mentioned its easy to forget how a club should be run properly after the Keystone Cops we have had for the last few years.

    Skates

It does seem very strange. I couldnt believe it when I heard that last night. And who is Paul Hart going to attract there to replace Johnson, Crouch etc ? Its all looking a bit glum for them...........3 weeks is a long time in football isnt it
  18. If that was gonna happen I doubt he would be playing tonight. I would expect, provided he was any good tonight, that AP will be offering him a contract pretty soon, esp bearing in mind Pilchard's training report from yesterday !
  19. He is playing at Salisbury tonight ! Come on, keep up
  20. He isnt as slow as Lancashire If its between the two of them Perry would be my choice every time.
  21. Glad I'm not the only big girls blouse that started getting weepy eyes
  22. This appointemnt just seems better and better with each passing day. I was in two minds about the Hearts friendly next saturday, not now, I want to see what difference AP makes in just a week.
  23. In fairness Flash could actually shoot towards that netty thing with the posts and cross bar that doesn't move no matter how many games you play And they can come along and stick up for him all they like but in my opinion the boy needs a bloody good talking to and a bit of footballing discipline installed in him, otherwise he will never make it big. One clever bit of footwork in the whole Ajax game does not make him class. I would really love it if he carried on the form/skill he showed at the early part of last season, but it looks to me like he has a hell of a lot of work and learning to do to get back to that let alone push on.
  24. Good stuff. I am particulalry pleased with his stance on discipline. Some of these younger players need that - look how Shearer, Le Tiss, the Wallaces etc turned out after being under Merrington's strict regime - great players and very level headed, sensible men, not one of them walked around like Johnny Big Balls thinking they were the greates thing since sliced bread. Hopefully some of that will rub off on the Lallana's of this world, cos to my eyes that boy needs to be told pretty bloody smartish that he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is......he could well be exceptional one day, but he isnt very close to that at the moment.
