Agree 100%......we have to airbrush Lowe and Wilde's mistakes and just move on, apparently. As you so rightly say it isnt that easy when you have lived, and suffered, through it !

Why oh why can nobody at that bloody club see that its all very well playing youngsters BUT you need an experienced, older defence !! Play the kids in midfield and upfront by all means but have a solid, experienced back four who are a bit wiser to what attacking teams are about than our current defence. To call them naieve is an understatement, as Dave Bassett commented teams will rub their hands playing us cos the defence is so young and vulnerable. I cant remember seeing a defender of Lancashire's age who is so bloody slow. Why do you think he gets booked or sent off so much ? Its cos his tackling is about a second or two late every time and thats because he is slow in mind and body. Play Perry and get a partner for him who has been around and knows the game, plus a couple of experienced full backs (or one at a push cos Skacel is adequate, altho wasted, there)

The Various Merlions on the Companies House website
beatlesaint replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
Wilde's a Scouser isn't he ? The Rathbone family in Liverpool were a very powerful family of ship merchants and owners - there is a Rathbone Street in Liverpool and the actor Basil Rathbone, most famous for the wartime Sherlock Holmes films is a descendant of the family. Perhaps Mr Wilde is too........... not Saints related I know but hell i know something so I'm gonna share !!! -
What did Duncan (Fitzhugh Fella) say on Radio Hampshire?
beatlesaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Oooh, that'll be the "official club historian" title taken away from him now then. Truth hurts and old rosey cheeks wont like hearing that again !! Devisive figure ? Well put Duncan, well put indeed. -
Where was Spiderman last night by the way ? Injured or "rested" or tummy bug ?
-
In all honesty they wouldnt even have had to return all of it........about a third of that amount to Lowe and Cowen would have kept/paid Stern John's wages til January. The double standards, including as you so rightly point out the Claus pitch farce, know no bounds.
-
Wonder if that will get "postponed", done behind closed doors or will the ego of Harry just let it carry on regardless ?
-
Re-writing his history again then......... not so long ago he was carping on about being an Arsenal fan as a boy and watching them with his old man......now its training with Spurs and always being around the club at 11 or 12.......add to his spiritual home at West Ham...before Pompey became his spiritual home that is.....and surely Bournemouth fits in somewhere. you couldnt make it up could you ? well, not as good as Redcrapp can anyway !! : - )

If he does take Spurs down (please please God) then he wont be able to air brush that failure out of his CV like he has with Southampton !! I prey he gets to pay his dues....

If You Had To Bet On It,Will Saints End Up In Administration?
beatlesaint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
I do not think for one minute that people with money like Leon Crouch who support the Saints would let us fall into administration. It may mean a further upheaval in the boardroom at the 11th hour with Lowe and Wilde forced to admit defeat but I cannot see administration happening. The one thing I have never understood since RL and MW came back is that surely they have only come back to protect their shares (esp Lowe who is not as wealthy as Wilde) so if they let the club slip into administration wouldnt their shares be worth nothing at all ? -
If they were playing together for the opposition it would be quite funny.....unfortunately i share your fear.

So let me get this straight in my little brain. JP more or less admits that the addition of the experienced, older players on Tuesday night, among them Stern John, helped in no small way get us a much unexpected point. 48 hours later Lowe loans him to Bristol City therefore taking away one of the few experienced players we have. I think I can see your cunning plan Baldrick, sorry Rupert.................... Clueless, totally clueless ego maniac Lowe.

I would think its a record for the league never mind just Saints !
-
If he is showing up the kids we wont see him again !!!!!!

Rudi ! Rudi ! Rudi !

3-0 to Shef. Utd, they love set pieces and we, umm....dont !!
-
The reason he save McGoldrick's penalty was because it was bloody awful....end of !!

Injured.

It doesnt evade DECENT managers and chairmen ! We havent had a decent chairman to speak of (altho I think Crouch could have been) but as for managers, well both Hoddle and Strachan worked it out and tightened up the back.
-
Quite agree, every team that does anything in this league, and I include avoiding relegation in that, has a couple of big, burly cloggers at the heart of their defence.
-
Surely instead of getting all these midfield and strikers on loan the solution to our problem would be to scout round the premiership/championship and pick up 2 or 3 older (28 - 35) defenders who are experienced and know how to defend basics like corners and crosses !! Go with the boys in midfield and up front if thats what we have to do but have a solid back line that is experienced. Look at the difference Perry and Lucketti made at the end of last year. A decent centre half to go next to Perry or Killer and a couple of full backs. Who knows, it may just work......and i think it stands a better chance of working than the current line up in defence. There has to be clubs esp in the premiership who have older defenders who just dont get a game anymore. I am lost for words as to why JP.....or RL have a blind spot about the defending and full backs especially. Time to wise up, we can all see it, and so can every team we play !!
-
Well he went on holiday to Jersey (guest of Wilde maybe ?) himself, it says so in his notes in the programme !
-
I was going to say GB wont be in that job this time next year as he has bitten off more than he can chew. Having seen that vote of confidence quote I may change it to this time next month !!
-
I think I have more chance of seeing an Elvis Presley comeback concert than seeing SFC taken over anytime soon !!
-
Like several players currently in the first team Lancashire just is not ready IMHO. Of course the chance to bring them through gradually is not a step we seem to be able to take at present. Perhaps if our loans were experienced defenders it would help Lancashire and Mills etc to watch them in matches and learn in training..........unfortunately this does not appear to be the way the management, or chairman, want to take us !!
