Desperate or not, there's no excuse for this at all. And if I was that desperate for money, there are a million things I can think of that I'd try to do before something like this even entered my mind.
Just been announced

Saints v Man Utd - Saturday 1st December 5.30pm
Saints v Arsenal - Sunday 16th December 1.30pm
Saints v West Ham - Thursday 27th December 7.45pm (so no Boxing Day game...)
Saints v Man City - Sunday 30th December 2.15pm
Plus the away game at Chelsea on 1st January is moved to the 2nd January, 7.45pm but not televised
They have to have a certain number of test events (I think it's two) before they get given a safety certificate and can have a full stadium, so I imagine these test events will be U23 fixtures.
Also, maybe the police and the club want the first fixture to be held at the weekend rather than on a weekday?
It's pointless anyway. PwC have this ethnicity pay gap because more white people are in higher paid jobs.
The only issue is where two people are getting paid differently for doing the exact same job.

Looks as if Tottenham's first game at their new stadium will be at home to Burnley on the 15th December, which means we'll be the last match for them at Wembley (5th December).
We were the last team to beat them at WHL, could we be the last team to beat them at Wembley?
The player performances have been the one constant over this period - awful.
What will it take for you to realise that the problem is the poor quality of squad we have? The manager cannot be blamed for EVERYTHING and the poor players admonished of all blame. It's incredibly naive.
Gunn's only recently arrived, it would be incredibly harsh and unfair to drop McCarthy, who has done nothing wrong this season at all.
If we go on a decent cup run, I hope Gunn is still the goalkeeper in those latter, important matches.
Gunn does look like a very good purchase, it's good that we do have two excellent options in that area.
Hopefully we go for more young English players in the future, even if they do cost a little bit more.
Did Stephens even travel up for the game? He hadn't been in the team so surely it wouldn't have come as a surprise that he wasn't included.
Yoshida and Bednarek, out of the two I'd guess Yoshida.
Subs were...
Yoshida
Davis
Austin
Ward-Prowse
Armstrong
Gunn
Bednarek
Out of them, the only one who had been starting regularly was Austin, can't see any of the others being frustrated to not being in the team.
It's the common sense decision. If the bakers don't want to take people's money then they shouldn't be forced too. I'm sure there will be plenty of others nearby who would gladly take the person's owner, but you can't force people to do something if they choose not to.
If the bakery in question chose to ban gay people from buying anything at all then that would of course be a very different story.
