I was just thinking the same thing this morning. That match had some dodgy referee decisions in it too...
-
I would still expect them to rest players for this match. It's Newcastle who will perhaps be wanting things to remain competitive, as they play them in the league next weekend.
-
It'll be interesting to see what side Arsenal put out. They're at full strength tonight, so will Wenger change things around and name a few of the youngsters?
-
Why mention the 5-0 then, that was against our reserve side! Considering they are playing tonight, they may very well prioritise the Europa League match over Sunday's fixture.
-
Those games in Italy yesterday kicked off early to ensure they wouldn’t clash with the Champions League. Midweek games in this county never kick off at 6pm, the police would never allow it as it’s rush hour.
-
That really would be great news. The only problem is that Wilson would probably take over and that concerns me.
-
I'm sure, given that we are, in terms of fanbase, the biggest club in the region, the Premier League and Sky would want us to stay in the league, I'm sure our games attract more viewers than Brighton or Bournemouth.
-
Eddie Howe is very comfortable, but take him out of his comfort zone and he's bang average. He knows he'll never get the sack at Bournemouth.
-
Yoshida's decent enough at this level. But, for a club that finished 6th only two seasons ago (!!!), 'decent' just doesn't cut it. Presumably we bought Hoedt in the hope that he would develop into the VVD type, and he's still young enough to do so.
-
I honestly think he'd do very well in a defensive midfield role.
-
I'd be quite content with Hughes in all honesty. Of course, we could always go for the guy who got us promoted last time
-
It really would be the low point of the season if they beat us. Still, for them it'll be like winning the Champions League.

2 things that together will usually get you relegated

Puel wasn't crap, Pellegrino obviously was, let's not write off Hughes after one league game. -
I'd be up for some sort of organised protest vote. Would have to make sure the twitter mob were on board too, and all the other fansites.
-
Our first game back in the PL was against Man City, so it's kind of fitting that they should relegate us. And talking of comparisons of 2005, I'm really not looking forward to the 4-1 defeat against Bournemouth...
-
Exactly, this isn't just something that has happened naturally, the fall has been spectacular, and heads should roll.
-
Recruitment, in my opinion, is the number one issue why we're in this mess. For that reason, he simply has to go. I don't really trust Les to replace him with anyone better though.
-
We just beat the de facto leaders in Wigan 2-0 on their own patch, they wouldn't stand a chance against us.
-
They're not going up this season. Next season, maybe.
-
I haven't been there myself, but I am reliably informed that Santa Barbara is beautiful.
-
"You dirty scummers, we're coming for you" You have to admire their optimism/delusion
-
That Carrillo transfer alone is why the scouting and recruitment department need a massive overhaul. Les Reed and Wilson have lost the plot completely. I'd be content with Hughes in charge next season even if we do go down.
-
Pardew yes, he is a poor manager, Hughes no, Stoke had consistently been in the top half before this season. Another club who have suffered due to poor recruitment.
-
I'll accept their apology if they go out and perform against Arsenal. We're all expecting a defeat but at least put in a decent performance, show the fans something where we can at least believe we might have a chance of staying up. Otherwise, it's just empty sentiments that mean nothing.
-
There is a certain arrogance about the club these days that I find rather repulsive, and I can’t help but feel that this starts from Les Reed. He really has to go at the end of the season, this mess is his legacy.
