I was at an MLS game last week, I saw for myself the level of officiating.

If he is as good as the propaganda machine than we will have a real gem. Personally, I think it will take him a little while to get used to the speed and physicality of the Premier League but things will click and we'll have a real star on our hands.

Also, I remember the match against Brighton in the Championship where we won 3-0 but Peter Walton was the ref, that was just hilarious how bad he was. All the funnier given the opposition and manager at the time. He's now in charge of the referees in the MLS

Also, since when did qualifying for Europe equate to having the best fans? I think the fact that we had a higher attendance when we were in League 1 than when they were in the PL was the marker for that.
