  1. If we lose this one then no excuses. Same underperforming players as every other week. Other than Ings, Boufal has made the most impactful press this season by winning the ball back against Sheffield United, so it’s not like he doesn’t do his defensive duties, as he’s also our most talented fit attacker. Just don’t get it.
  2. Yeah, if he isn't pulling up trees in the Turkish League then he isn't going to in the Premier League. Shame, as on his day he's very good. Just hasn't got the mentality which then brings the consistency.
  3. The problem is the constant shoe-horning of JWP into every starting eleven. Yes, he had a good end to last season, but he's been a waste of a shirt this season. Bringing back the old saying "form is temporary, class is permanent". I just don't get it. If he was an incredible threat from his mythical set-pieces then I could understand why he's on the pitch, but he just isn't. He's not better than what Lambert was at direct free-kicks and he didn't have half the reputation JWP has regarding them. He's made out to be the next Beckham by commentators (Not Saints fans), when he quite simply isn't.
  4. Remember when we won 21 consecutive home games between League One and the Championship.

Hopefully his last bit of business has left us with: Che Adams - Not an instant improvement upfront, which is what we needed. Now struggling to get into the team. Should've signed Maupay for the extra £5m in hindsight, who's the same age. Moussa Djenepo - Looks a gem... When fit. Kevin Danso - What was the point?
  6. I look at Sunderland, Stoke and Huddersfield, who are clubs full of players that don't give a ****, are only there to pick up their wages and poorly mismanaged from the top to bottom and we're basically the Premier League version of that, which is where those three also started. So, if we were to also get relegated we would once more be fighting at the bottom end of the second tier and losing in the Championship is a lot worse than losing in the Premier League. I would just be amazed if there are three teams worse than us, that keeps us up for the third season in a row, rather than us actually being any good.
  7. Exactly like watching the same team that turned up under Puel, Pellegrino and Hughes today... Disgusting. We're meant to be this high pressing, high energy team, but we were standing off Chelsea every time and letting them dance around us. I remember when Pochettino first game in and where we lacked in quality we more than made up for it with our energy and that's the bare minimum as a fan we should expect, but we were jogging half arsedly around the pitch throughout. I wouldn't blame Boufal if he refused to come on again. He drops out of the team for doing little wrong, while you can guarantee Ward-Prowse and Redmond will be in the starting eleven ahead of him, putting out the same sub-standard, non-contributory displays each week. Boufal should be signed up to a new contract already! Odds on that we get caught sleeping again and lose him on a free and he comes back to haunt us? As for Hojbjerg, please let him go for free. Him, Redmond and Ward-Prowse are far too comfortable in their positions. What was the point in signing Danso? And, last, but by no means least. Ralph was scared to make a sub until the final moments for the second week in a row! These players aren't going to make an impact and change the game with 10 minutes left! It's rookie errors and considering Ralph came up against who is very much a new manager in Frank Lampard, he got absolutely schooled.
  8. I said it last week, but we gave Tottenham far too much respect. They've been fragile for the entirety of 2019, terrible form.

Good. Had this summer to prove himself as the main man after a few poor windows as the "second in charge". Failed to deliver again, based on what's happened so far, so it feels like he's definitely an area we could improve on. Although, he does seem to get linked to Rangers on a yearly basis.
  10. Chelsea were linked with Ashley Barnes and Peter Crouch when Conte was their manager to be fair.
  11. Bellerin will take Chambers' place at RB when he returns. He's not that good. He got relegated with Fulham and Middlesbrough and he'd be relegated with us if he was the quality of player we were targeting.
  12. Given our options in the centre of the park, or rather lack of then Reeds should definitely be a part of this team for when Romeu and Hojbjerg inevitably pick up their suspensions.
  13. Forster Clyne - Alderweireld - Van Dijk - Bertrand Wanyama - Schneiderlin Tadic - Lallana - Mane Lambert (I think Lambert's 15 league goals in 12-13 is still our highest by a single player since our PL return and his only other season 13-14 saw him score 13 league goals, which is again higher than Pelle and Mane got in a single season. We'd kill for a Lambert these days, the man was a king.)
  14. "The Saints boss is particularly disappointed with his subs who he said made his team "weaker" in the final 20 minutes of the game." Should've brought at least one on 20 minutes earlier, not when they have little time to make any impact.
  15. At least Brighton, Norwich, Villa, Newcastle and Watford are all worse than us. Hopefully three of those teams keep us up, rather than us being actually any good for the third season running.
  16. Why’s the ref given them possession back from the drop ball? Ffs
  17. Where are the subs?
  18. Tottenham are fragile, they have been all year. They're also down to 10 men, this is still winnable. Make some early changes and take the game to them, like the Sims sub earlier in the year. Does Valery's close ties to Lemina link to the playing situation?
  19. Get in there! 4-0, easy as you like. Wasn't worried at all after the first 20 minutes. Better still, we didn't have some of our better attackers on the field with Boufal not needed, Djenepo injured and Redmond getting a 20 minute cameo (and goal). Yoshida our best defender, Ings our best forward. Odds on both getting dropped at the weekend? But, who cares? Lets celebrate this result at that dump until we meet again. It's funny how much their fans still believed they were better a better team than us because we get beat on the regular in the Premier League. There are still levels, and they are a lot closer to League Two than the Championship.
  20. Can we play you every week? I'm guilty of forgetting how good Ings is. (He does spend a lot of time on the treatment table to be fair) But, he's our best striker in all departments.
  21. Come on you Saints! Feeling it now.
  22. As much as your post is a bit ****... This is currently what separates Southampton and Bournemouth. Although, of course your owner won't be around forever and after that you'll go tumbling down like Huddersfield have.
  23. Les Reed picks the team.
  24. 20th in League One after another loss today. Our League One side was so much better than theirs and we lost 4-1 to their Premier League side. Anything but a convincing win would be unforgivable. (Although, I'd take a 1-0.)

    Che Adams

It took Jay Rodriguez eight league games to score his first for the club and another eight for his second after making the step up to the Premier League from the Championship. He wasn't so bad before the injury ruined him. Although, I guess he had more pace and was better at carrying the ball than Adams, but he was also playing in a better Southampton team. Unfortunately, there aren't many Lambert's or Pukki's who just make the step up with ease, many others need time.
