People wanting rid of him, I say this. Be careful what you wish for. You don't become a bad player between seasons. I think he is suffering from a lack of confidence fuelled by starting the season unfit and playing with niggly injuries. He is a couple of confidence boosting strikes away from being prolific again. Remember Beattie? He had loads of dips in confidence, and always came back scoring in the end.
