Good luck to the lad. As talented as he undoubtedly is, I think Rothwell will be a more consistent and ultimately useful player if we’re trying to get promoted.

Eddie Jack playing against Aus U19 on Sky this morning. Been a bit hit and miss so far, 0-36 from 5 and quite a few wides.
-
What on Earth are you talking about?

I think he is sincere, just incredibly naive and easily lead, as he proved with Pinnacle. As for being clearly our best player, we'll have to agree to disagree. Obviously he is more popular here than Van Dijk but a year after leaving us, the latter was second in the Ball D'or, sandwiched between the two greatest players who've ever lived. Tiss will be remembered along with Zola, Cantona and Gazza as someone we loved watching in the nineties but no serious fan outside Southampton is going to be talking about him alongside Zidane, Figo and Nedved as one of the all time greats.

I’m pretty sure Rothwell was the Alcaraz replacement and that this deal has been on the cards a lot longer than it’s been in the media. On the one hand I wouldn’t get your hopes up for another incoming, on the other I wouldn’t worry too much about anyone else leaving. The squad looks reasonably well balanced with only a late departure for Che or Mara really on the cards.

Surely Juventus will be paying a higher loan fee than we're paying for Brooks, so it's probably a sensible decision all round. After starting off with a goal of decent goals a year ago, I really don't think he's been that good for us. In a couple of years he'll just be another, "Oh god, yeah he did play for us a bit didn't he," like Minamino or Elia.

I’ve not been watching as long as you but Virgil is quite comfortably the best player I’ve seen play for Saints, even including Tiss. He was the one player we’ve had since the mid eighties who was genuinely, unquestionably world class and could play for any club in the world. When he eventually did leave it was for a world record fee and he instantly turned Liverpool into basically the worlds best team for a couple of years. Tiss was phenomenal for us but he wasn’t quite THAT good.

Any other year when we’re not in a precarious position with regards to next season’s league. Like all the other years before last, when we had three cup semis and a final. Leicester were a top six club when they won it and Wigan was a one off fluke.
-
Remember him however you like. I’m not sure how many children in hospital a 20 yard half volley against Crystal Palace equates to but you’re free to decide however you like.
-
If it all goes our way, we could make the top two on genuine merit for the first time this season, rather than by a simple quirk of having played our fixture first. Here’s hoping we can turn in a few away goals and make it comfortable.
-
Well, that’s what happens when you try to rebrand yourself as some great, free-thinking liberator of the sheeple, standing up to big pharma and big government with conspiracy theorist drivel you find on X. He hasn’t scored a goal for us in a quarter of a century and thanks entirely to his own efforts, he is now more famous as a man who puts children’s health at risk by telling their thick, ignorant parents not to vaccinate them. As such, most threads about MLT will tend to drift this way.
-
Sounds a bit like Robertson, I don’t remember him being in any way Australian though.
-
Considering we were 163-5 in our second innings and still 27 runs short of even making them bat again, that’s a phenomenal performance. Brilliant from Pope and Hartley.
-
No amount of trying to rationalise Stewart’s injuries and the amount of money paid for anyone will change the fact that Mara has been a very poor signing, who rather than showing promise in the Premier League is doing almost nothing in the Championship. "Good back up," just means he isn’t really good enough to play for us but the damage will be limited if he’s used in small doses.
-
I prefer a straight jacket, electric shocks and a large, butch matron when I go a bit loopy.
-
He hasn’t though. His only two league goals this season have come in injury time of games when we were already 3-0 up at home. I never thought I’d be accusing a striker of scoring ‘pointless’ goals but that’s pretty much what they are, the opponents had already checked out and were mentally on the coach home.
-
I can’t say that this bothers me particularly. It would if we were in a situation where we were badly lacking talent in certain areas and couldn’t afford to recruit, but that’s not the case. You said yourself elsewhere that you wouldn’t be bothered if we signed nobody this window, so I don’t think that’s an issue. The one problem with our squad has been a forward in the #9 mould but we did spend the money there, just on the wrong player.

Still missing the point I think. I’m not saying Ukraine surrender everything up to that line and stops fighting. Essentially there would be no change in the current war other than a hard line Russia cannot cross, with either men or missiles, well behind the front line.
-
WTF, he needs to learn to pray to something sensible. Like a semi-naked dead Jew, nailed to a piece of wood.
-
Just to be clear, I wasn’t talking about actually cutting Ukraine in half, this would be a theoretical NATO border. What it would mean in real world terms is that Russia, even if they did have some massive, crushing victory in the east, couldn’t advance any further beyond that line, without triggering a war with NATO. It would ensure Ukraine’s security, including the ability to better protect their civilian areas from aerial assault. It may also cause Russian high command to lose enthusiasm as they would effectively have nothing to fight for.
-
I heard he was going to Norwich on a free. Apparently Levy phoned up Delia and said, “I want to give you doggy,” and she misunderstood.
-
Just thinking out loud, I wonder if Ukraine could join NATO with some sort of artificial border across the country. For example a line running to the East of Kharkhiv, Dnipro and Odesa, to the west of which is considered NATO territory and all the connotations which come with it, whilst the war is in progress. NATO troops and equipment could be stationed in western Ukraine with the ultimatum that any Russian aggression in this zone will be treated as an attack on NATO territory.

There is no quantity or pungency of shite that could ever be written that I would struggle to believe was on Twitter. It’s the unfiltered cranial diarrhoea of literally every human being on Earth, and many of them are absolute whack jobs.
