  1. Which he did, even though it was obviously the wrong thing to do.
  2. Who had 35 minutes in the Lallana sweepstake?
  3. Panicked and poorly thought out distribution has always been his weakness. Unfortunately this is a consequence of having to play our third choice keeper.
  4. Abysmal from Downes.
  5. Behave, there was nothing decent in front of him, although quite who he thought he was actually passing to I’ve no idea. Were looking alright here so far.
  6. Not a penalty IMO. Having a couple of brighter moments now.
  7. Agreed, it’s fantastic. We’ve hardly had any possession, which we all know is worse than asbestos.
  8. Yep. It’s back to good, honest ‘Pennant crosses it for Zigic to knock down to Phillips’ football. None of this namby pamby passing boll*cks, we’re getting it in the mixer for the big man (who’s got good feet).
  9. I’d quite like some much improved results, personally. I think it’s a tall order with the limited talent we have in this squad and I don’t think that a couple of absolute batterings in the hope that Moyes comes in (no guarantee in that) and saves us is particularly wise. I mentioned Ralph because it’s literally what some people were wishing for two years ago.
  10. I think you’ve both missed the point there. Hoping for us to get smashed so that we’re forced to sack the manager is a foolish endeavour and rarely works out well. I’m well aware that the managers in question were different two years ago, but however you want to dress it up the majority of people wanted Ralph sacked.
  11. No, the worst case is 4/5-0 or worse thumping where our GD takes an absolute hammering. Some people need to get over this fantasy that we need a seven or eight goal thumping, so that we’d be forced to sack Russ and someone like Moyes can come in and 1-0 us to safety with 31% possession. People said all this stuff about Ralph two years ago, almost rejoicing in that 1-4 against Newcastle because it looked like we’d finally be forced to sack him. Look how that panned out.
  12. Why would you get annoyed about a made up story from a random Twitter account?
  13. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde, you never really know which spurs are going to turn up.

    What on Earth...
  15. Shan Masood, it would seem.
  16. I have, you just don’t like the fact that I’ve dismissed most of them. If you keep putting forward examples which clearly don’t fulfil the criteria of being terminally ill, I’ll continue to disregard them.
  17. No I do, it’s just that the vast majority of the cases put forward, including the documentary with a bunch of irrelevant people trying to be the victim of the bill, don’t fulfil the criteria of being independently diagnosed as terminally ill. Im not saying there’ll never be a case of somebody who could have lived longer using this proposal to end their own life but those numbers will be massively outweighed and outnumbered by the people dying in pain this bill will help.
  18. A small number of people who are terminally ill and suicidal may use this scheme to kill themselves a few months earlier than they would have passed away organically, rather than throwing themselves off a bridge. That doesn't even come close to outweighing the thousands of people who will be spared an agonising, debilitating death if it passes. You can't simply dismiss anyone who supports this as having, "not thought through the consequences."
  19. What are the consequences of not approving this bill?

It’s not semantics, a stalemate is fundamentally not an agreed settlement. The battlefront can grind to an indefinite halt without a word being spoken or agreed between either side.
  21. I have to say, I did find it very reassuring to learn that Diane Abbott was opposed to my viewpoint. I can never be certain my opinions are correct but that's about the best litmus test there is.
  22. Amazing how people are twisting literally every scenario against Russ. If there are strong winds forecast then keeping it tidy, on the deck and short is likely to be a big advantage to going big and aerial. I'm not saying we have an advantage over Liverpool but I'd have thought our style would be less affected than some teams.

There’s absolutely no appetite for that from either side.

A stalemate is a military impasse, by definition it is not negotiated. If it were to occur, what would be the benefit of ceding any land?
