  1. I'm not sure I get this 'not winning our games in hand argument.' Games are games. Tonight and Walsall were no different to any other game, just because our rivals weren't playing. If you're going to argue that, then you have to say we've won 6 games in a row which weren't "in hand".
  2. Anyone know what time he was on the train? The train I was on at 1815 was full of Saints fans who managed a healthy chorus of "Swing Lowe", amongst a lot of other things. Didn't realise Rupert was (possibly) on the train though.
  3. Temple Meads. I'm aware that I can't really f**k around after the final whistle but there shouldn't be a problem. Changes at Paddy for either London Bridge or Waterloo East, I'm going with the latter.
  4. I'm getting the train from Bristol at half 3. Only £29 return. Much better option if you can get to the station by then.
  5. Plane get diverted then? So far this year I've done: Latvia Estonia New York Val D'Isere Les Deux Alpes Planning to go to: Belgium Italy Missed out on: Milan Ukraine Caribbean Dubai
  6. Ahh Bernie. He's like the old grandpa who sits in the corner telling people he invented rollerskates. Just smile, nod and don't ask him how he's feeling.
  7. So, the Formula 1 circus is back on the road and the curtain raiser is back to it's traditional home at the Albert Park circuit. Personally I hope we never go back to Bahrain, not only because the government murdered it's own civilians, but also because that place is boring as feck. I'm struggling to remember one interesting incident in about 5 years of racing at that place. In Melbourne, Jenson Button faces the very unlikely task of making it a hat trick in Australia, following a rain effected race last year and Brawn GP's fairy tale debut in 2009. Ferrari and Red Bull were the unsurprising pace setters in pre-season, whilst Mclaren had issues with reliability and set-up. Team principle Martin Whitmarsh was on the BBC earlier this week claiming they hoped the MP4-26 would be up to a second quicker come kick off in Oz. One more point of note, we have a new Brit to cheer on. Scotish driver Paul Di Resta comes with a promising CV having beaten reigning F1 champion Vettel in the 2006 formula 3 series. He also beat drivers such as Kobayashi, Nakajima, Buemi and Grosjean and is the current DTM champ. As much as I'd love Button to lead home a British 1-2-3, I can't really see beyond a red victory, be it Bull or just paint. It would be nice to see Webber win his home race as I doubt the 34 year old will have that many more chances.
  8. Ah, now that would distract me too you see. I could spend all day sat in Starbucks and every time a nice bit of crumpet walked past the window, I'd completely lose my chain of thought. What with that and Saints Web, I'd never get anything done.
  9. I had my lucky dump this morning, does that still count? I can't really do it during the game as I'm going to be there and the poor unfortunate souls sat next to me would have been upset/dead.
  10. I could never work from home, it would drive me around the bend. Being stuck in the same building would start feeling like a prison in the end, no matter how nice my house was. Each to their own I guess, I know that's some people's idea of heaven, especially if they have kids.
  11. We've got some very mongy Saints fans who are allowed to post on here, don't see how a few well reasoned rival fans could be any worse. Let them in I say.
  12. Ferkin' brilliant result. A win tomorrow puts us second, with games in hand on everyone below us. COYS etc.
  13. Did the fan get a minutes applause at Molyneux and signed Saints shirt auctioned in his honour? My thoughts too. Bit of an insult to the other Posh fans who die and don't even get a mention.
  14. I can't see how anyone would want a draw over a Dons win. Posh are a waaaaaay bigger threat to second place than Dons are. Posh are 4 points ahead with a game in hand, much better GD and are playing superbly. I hope Dons trash them and it has a similar effect to Bompey's defeat at Exeter.
  15. I thought the guy on the left was playing the banjo in that screne shot. Wasn't until I looked the third time I realised it was a flagpole and a circle on his T-shirt.
  16. Think we should play Martin instead of Jaidi for this one. Unless BWP has changed massively, he will be fairly quick and as good as a chicken in the air.
  17. Well if he helps keep Pompey out, that suits me fine.
  18. I'd say your best bet is to ring the ticket office now and order one. If you can't pick it up today or tomorrow morning, they will send it up on the bus with the Travel club and you can pick it up at The Valley, which is what I'm doing. I said a win was long over due didn't I? So what you're saying is if we win tomorrow night, we're pretty much guaranteed promotion? Good stuff.
  19. Well. I've had a good laugh checking out where you all live.
  20. Current form would suggest a Charlton win completely out of the blue is the most likely outcome. We don't have a great record at the valley, can't remember the last time we won there. 1-1 draw last season 0-0 the year before 1-1 the year before 0-0 our last season in the Prem 2-1 defeats in the 2 consecutive seasons before that. 1-1 the 2 consecutive years before that 5-0 defeat 2 years before that (The 'Great Escape' season when they went down) ... basically we haven't won at the valley in over 20 years, I got bored of looking. Long overdue methinks.
  21. Just seen the highlights and Lamberts goal shows exactly why we need Barny on the pitch. Running, bullying, good awareness and he set up Ricky brilliantly.
  22. Everyone talks about Fonte, Lallana, Rickie and Morgan being our key players and talk about how we would struggle without them, but I think Barnard is being overlooked a bit here. His work rate up front and excellent finishing have been the difference in a lot of tough games. Looking back at some of our worst performances and results this season, it would seem Barnard has only started 3 of them, highlighted in bold. Walsall 1-0 defeat Hartlepool 0-0 draw Carlisle 1-0 win Tranmere 2-0 defeat Notts Co 0-0 draw Brentford 2-0 defeat Carlisle 3-2 defeat Huddersfield 2-0 defeat MK Dons 2-0 defeat Swindon 1-0 defeat Rochdale 2-0 defeat Swindon 3-0 defeat Plymouth 1-0 defeat Infact Walsall is the only game we've lost under Adkins when Barnard started.
  23. Just booked my tickets. Last time I went to the valley we drew 1-1 under Pearson, looking forward to going again. Managed to get train tickets for £29 return from Bristol.
  24. In all seriousness though, I'd hope Gadaffi realises the game is up here. If it comes to a military conflict, I won't be putting any money on Libya.
  25. Last season's Colchester and Swindon were better than Dons and Orient are now. Impossible to prove that either way mind so... meh.
