The one area I'd still like is to get a goalscoring midfielder like Wijnaldum in. Newcastle may be resistant to selling him though.

Pretty happy with this. Got a couple of peak years out of him then made a profit on a 31 year old. Was never going to hang around playing 3rd fiddle to long and Austin. Pretty happy with our striking offers but definitely feel we need to use these funds to bring in another classy attacking midfielder.

Would be disappointed if we sold targett. With extra European games there should be more opportunities for him to get game time at saints. The fee being discussed is utterly disgraceful too for a young English u21 international with years on his contract. Don't see value of loaning him out anywhere either as we'd need need to bring in a quality cover player.

Seems an exciting capture, a good age and the sort of fee that makes sense. Hope he can develop as well as others have in the past.

Got to say I hope that pied piece is rubbish. Signing a journeyman full back back slash utility midfielder who wasn't good enough to make the nice team is hardly inspiring. rather we invest heavily in first teamers and leave room below that for youngsters rather than block their path further with this type of filler signing.

Hope Saints don't pull out of it. It's surely a good opportunity for u21 player's development with some competitive football.

Having 2 internationals(Gardos & Yoshida) as cover seems reasonable to me. Unless we need to ship one of them out i don't really see the need to bring in more competition. Given how set the first choice 2 centre backs are i think we'd struggle to attract anyone of higher quality than these 2 anyway. Equally I'd like to see Stephens given an opportunity at some point personally in one of the cups or group games to try and prove himself.

I'd say there would be a mixed reaction. Those who think like Koeman that first 11 should play every minute of every game would be annoyed, those that think that league cup in particular should be a great opportunity to blood a couple of youngsters alongside first teamers would be disappointed with the result but happy with the decision to give opportunity for academy products.

I'm glad we've got someone who hopefully will give more opportunities for the academy players. Given they were successful with the last appointment i'm willing to have faith in the board and their opinion that Puel is the right choice.

Everton's a massive step backwards to him imo, sort of him admitting he's not very good and just convenient money move. He should either stick it out at Utd or move abroad if a top premier club won't take him.

I'd be gutted if Morgan opts to go to Everton, such a step down. Berahino is certainly an interesting idea. His attitude is obviously a question mark but he is an exciting talent i wouldn't have envsioned us being able to attract a season ago when he seemed destined for a big club.

Still wouldn't have an issue with selling him at his age, ideally to an Italian club though.

That's a frustrating sale. Was hoping personally we'd keep him the extra year and sell for 11/12M next year. I can sort of see the logic with it being african nations year and it being abundantly clear that he wouldn't sign a new contract. Still replacing someone who can be a devastating game changer is going to be extremely hard. Black Box has some major work cut out for it. As someone else said i severely hope Redmond isn't considered the like for like replacement.

Seems a good signing to me and in a position i felt we definitely needed to strengthen. For someone that young, talented and british i think the fee is fairly reasonable too. Find it extremely humorous that someone could describe a 22 year old as a journeyman.

I doubt vote will have any effect on Bosman. Where it might very well have an effect is on recruitment of EU players who will now likely need to meet the same visa requirements as non EU players currently do.

Glad to see its finally over and we can hopefully use the 11m to reinvest in that position. I'd be much more worried about losing Mane. Personally i've never been Vic's biggest fan. He's a good player and as a defensive shield he can at times be immense but i still think he's rather technically limited. We'll see how he adapts to life at Spurs where one would presume first first job will be to try and break into the first xi.

Super annoyed at Nord Iron. Set up to lose and so lost. After playing positively in friendlies and qualifiers it was such a kick in the teeth. Why be scared stiff of an opposition that had drawn with both the republic and Scotland in qualification.

We generally play one up front. Long excelled in that role 2nd half of the season, we've invested in a highly paid striker in Austin who no doubt expects to get opportunities too. That's excluding Jrod who hopefully will have a less injury prone season. I'd be amazed in Pelle(currently in the Italian team) would have any intention of playing third fiddle to them. Cashing in on him at 31 likely makes sense for both parties, we get some money back for him and he gets a last big contract somewhere.

Definitely feel we need a pacey wide man addition so wouldn't complain at all if it turns out to be Redmond.

Didn't think he was particularly impressive tactically at times this season. Keeping a Bournemouth side up but finishing behind a Tony Pulis side isn't the sort of achievement that should put you on a shortlist for a team aiming for the top 6.
