Was bemused by the left back thing, after initially thinking he'd dropped baines for Shaw and Gibbs. Some odd selections with Carrick, Walcott in with barely any football and Townsend/Lambert equally somehow staying in.

More of a retro 'Rank Xerox' feel hopefully.

I'm enjoying their struggles, especially city's. Sure arsenal and Chelsea will qualify anyway.

Really don't see it, unless Jrod breaks down and we need cheap cover. Once fit jrod gives us another option, and if we are forced to cash in on him we'll have money to invest in a replacement. Plus if Lambert leaves liverpool I assume it'll be to play regularly.

Can see the job he does for the team, even if his finishing isn't perfect. The fee rankles rather though, but maybe that's the tight part of me that doesn't want us paying that much over the odds.

My gut instinct thinks Toby is only going to be here for the year. Either he'll go back and play regularly for Madrid or someone bigger will buy him. Still a short term great deal to get someone as good as him who felt he wasn't getting the game time where he was. Would love it if i turn out to be wrong and we buy him in the summer. Can't see Bertrand having a future at Chelsea. If we've got option to buy in the summer then happy to wait till then.

Agree, thought him and Quashie vastly improved our centre midfield. Problem was that Harry never sorted out the defence.

I'll be interested to see where he rocks up next and how he does. Think he's got potential to be a very good manager. I wasn't against the notion of him at Saints if we weren't able to attract someone of the calibre of Koeman.

Swindon fan i know has been very complementary about Stephens. Turnbull seems to have settled ok but not made same impression.

League cup is below fa & league top 4 for me. Still excited about winning it but happy for it to be a proving ground for youngsters like targett too.

Still believe Shaw is amazingly talented and will end up shining. I believed at the time he'd have been better off staying with us one more season at least, rather than moving for financial rather than footballing reasons.

Only change possibly mane for long. Personally prefer balance of midfield with cork in for home games over less fluent but with defensive shield of wanyama.

Time to give Reed a run out surely.

As a N.I and Saints fan i'm happy with this news. Slightly surprised at the length given his age but guess he wanted the security of a last long contract. As others have said, now sort out a contract for Cork.

Was in Athens too. A truly great night. Delighted for Reeves, worked hard when he came on and hope he'll get many more caps and have chance to show abilities in more attacking areas of pitch in other games.

Think the way he acted was totally shoddy. Can't see him mending bridges he burnt anytime soon. Still think he'll be a success at Liverpool if used right but now to me he's just some skillful mercenary that used to play for Saints
