Joe Shields leaving? What the hell is happening???
Baird of the land replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
It does seem to fit with chelsea’s New owner scattergun approach, deciding they want Lavia on transfer deadline etc. Concerning that he is so desperate to get out the door so Soon though. -
Personally hoping we have ability to recall in Jan. Used correctly I think he could help us.
-
See at least Tella scored agiain
-
Feels like a go down swinging team from Ralph. Feel that if he didn't know his number was likely up we'd be seeing the likes of the so called 'great off the ball' elyounessi rather than double armstrong
-
Losing to one of the worst teams in the league at Home is pretty unforvigable. Time for a change.
-
The sort of game where we need to do what others have been doing to us, find a way to win even if it isn’t pretty. Really hoping to see Stu Armstrong start and ideally maitland niles.
-
I went for keep till end of the season. my view is more keep for now and see what happens. Obviously if we get more performances like villa that might change.

Ibrahima Diallo - Official: Signs for Al Duhail
Baird of the land replied to TWar's topic in The Saints
Diallo just doesn't seem suited to the sitting/breaking up play role. When he's looked at his most effective it is when he is driving forward with the ball. -
Why was djenepo playing right mid. He's looked far more threatening coming from deep at lb. Throwing into that sort of petformance seemed a bit stupid. How does trash like elyounessi start every game.
-
One of the most pathetic displays I've seen. Horrible starting xi, horrible subs. Villa were poor and there for the taking which makes it worse. A good team would have smashed us 9-0.
-
How is elyounessi still on
-
Line-up didn't give me much hope. Most disappointing thing was how their goal was coming and we did nothing
-
If they are cancelling Arsenal's Thursday game you'd assume pretty much all London games at the weekend must be goners. Hopefully won't affect us and we can leave Gerrard under even greater pressure with a win.

var is a right mess outside of offsides. Results in massive inconsistincies in officiating with its backing up match officials across different games rather than trying to establish a consistent. At the other end of the spectrum you get the random points where it oddly decides to be more much interfering with bad results as today. Use of monitors is a joke. Just remove them if all they are is a delaying act of theatre.

To me he's completely raw & subs bench is right place for him. Some good stuff(assist vs Leeds), some awful (header today which ended up going back to sender)
-
Generally a pretty even game with a shank by them winning it. I can forgice the 2nd missed chance by Che that hits the bar but the first is pitiful. If we get that i feel we at least draw the game. Postivies were Edozie looked bright. S. Armstrong has surely played himself into the starting 11 ahead of the poor Elyounessi. Djenepo looks muich more liek a FB not a winger now.
-
I said at the time i would have preferred a more experienced keeper. He's not been perfect in his early games but neither has he been terrible. I simply don't see why you'd lynch any keeper for a one on one where the striker has completely shanked the ball in. It's pretty basic after the fact thinking (that he should stand still) & i see little liklihood that posters like you would be raving over his standing & watching the ball go past himm if podence connects properly.
-
Equally if he stays on his feet and podence hits it properly it is a goal & people will criticise him for standing still. He's gambling because he's been put in a horrible position.
-
Not sure Bazanu can do much. Is he supposed to guess that Podence is going to mishit it completely.
-
Really annoying goal to concede from a scruffy finish Generally Saints have played ok Elyounessi has been very poor. Don't have a clue what he was thinking with his chance to put Che through.
-
Assume Aribo will come in for Lavia, with Maitland-Niles potentially in the impact sub role. Pretty happy with notion of a bench of Mccarthy, Lyanco, Maitland-Niles, S Armstrong, Djenepo, Edozie, Mara, Larios, Redmond
-
Might be back for last couple of games before the World Cup break i guess.
-
Disappointing that Bednarek permanent deal to West Ham failed.
-
Would we not have had to agree the termination before the window shut? Thought they seemed to be implying that yesterday during transfer deadline radio commentary.

Rate Saints business in the Summer 2022 Transfer Window
Baird of the land replied to Barsiem's topic in The Saints
I've given it a cautious 8. Think it could go up to a 9 if the kids are good or down to a 7 if neither are first team ready. It's certainly better than previous windows regardless and sport's republic investment is a big positive.
