Are Always, Benji, and Fry the same person? Thought I saw that posted on another thread somewhere?
-
You say that, but did you go to the Stoke game. He literally couldn't give a flying Phuck in that match!
-
Shame, was looking forward to some home games. What is the basis for a european tour this year when we're not in europe? Also interesting that we are not going to the USA?
-
Yup. Another academy lad playing in the Prem next year!
-
Welcome Martin cranie!
-
Les always ropes over to have his belly tickled though! As soon as the money comes out he gets sweaty palms and we all know it! Although quite why long is our top earner I'll never know.
-
Thanks 9, looks good! Is there any mock ups or info kn the away?

46 points is terrible lord. Surely even you have to admit that? Saying we came 8th does not mitigate for a season that has been a step backwards? The team we had last year would have stayed at least top 6 this year. Certainly above everyone and I would argue that united have been very poor again. But regardless of that, if we continue to accept rubbish like this, we will do a Fulham, villa etc... the ambition will evidently have gone, players will leave, new players won't be as attracted to us, and we will get closer and closer to the relegation zone. In this league you either go forwards or backwards. This year we have gone backwards. Puel may come good (if Les let's him), but this has been a poor season, and the sooner fans act like adults, and call it what it is, the better!
-
Its interesting, that one the one hand people say that once you accept medicrity you are finished... then on the other hand people want us to accept it? Puel was a step backwards this year. Simple as that. You have to move forwards in this league... its that or you do a Fulham, Villa, Sunderland etc... You go down. Sorry to break it to people that live in a fairy world where you comfortably underachieve and stay mid table.

And yet... it's going to be west ham.

SWEEPSTAKE ALERT - Puel departure announcement timing - all welcome

That ties in with 67% of St Mary's leaving before the lap of appreciation. If he doesn't improve rapidly next year and Les doesn't sack him then frankly both need to go. And if Les keeps him on this summer, and doesn't back him in the transfer market again, then Les needs to go anyway. Imagine a summer like the last transfer window... but where VVD, Cedric, Bertrand, Forster and Tadic all go with worse replacements coming in, the same crap football and a relegation scrap to look forward to. That is certainly one potential future.... -
No he didn't. Stop being a muppet Glasgow.
-
He needs to go in the next 30min!! That or Les Reed out!

A lot of negatives from the players recently. Selected a god awful song for prematch the the fanbase widely hates. Chose a kit for the cup final that the fans couldn't buy or wear. Purported player unrest and players actively destabilising the club by trying to get the manager or themselves out. Not managing to score in 5 games at home Think its time for a complete squad overhaul tbh. Time we got some players with a brain into the club.

Choice: Saints finish 2017 season 8th but Boring, or 13th and Exciting
Saint86 replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
Pants analogy IMO. If saints had been more attacking we'd have been a lot closer to Everton. The number of games we've drawn or lost this game becuase puel didn't know how to win them is a joke. The last 3 at home (Stoke, Hull, United) are prime examples. If we'd attacked more and been more "exciting" we'd have had a shed load more points. At the end of the day, if we'd done much worse than 46 we'd be calling it a relegation scrap. As fans, I think we need to stop trying to justify what a cack season we've had. The only saving grace is that we got to (and lost) a cup final that we should really have won anyway. We couldn't even beat HBS and Prague when it mattered. Seriously, there is no justification for how crap we've been this year. Go through the fixture list and just add up all the games that were there for the taking and we lost/drew. -
What better 22 year old (or younger) players in the premier league would you put above JWP. I am struggling to get past players like Rashford (debateable), Pickford (debateable), Alli, Sterling? They usually play for top top clubs... What exactly do you expect from JWP given his age? To be one of the top players in the prem and therefore not playing for Saints? Or is the stick with which we beat him that he isn't a top class player and therefore isn't good enough for us?

Still sitting pretty for tommorrow in the sweepstake. 11:00-12:00 may have been a bit early though. Suspect the chap with 2pm is going to get it :/

Please don't feed the trolls. They've never had it so good.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Makes you think right. The security at SMS is laxidasical compared to somewhere like Manchester Arena. And that goes for 95% of football grounds in the country. Its going to happen one day unless that changes. -

Will happen Thursday after the EL final. I'll take 11-12am. -
People should ignore squad value IMO, especially since we have net received money to make this squad, not net spend. Our wages put us mid table, and frankly that is where we are. The wheels have properly come off of Les' "Southampton Way" this season. Boring football, no plan B, poor transfer dealings and a serious dent in brand recognition and supporter happiness. People can scream "8th place and a final" all they want... The truth is we've got 46points, and game after game we have been unable put matches to bed when the other team have practically rolled over on their back asking us to tickle them senseless. (And I include the cup final in that list of games, just like Hull at home, Stoke at home, United at home etc etc etc etc - I actually lose count). Puel has to go, he's lost the dressing room, and doesn't know how to score a goal with this team, let alone win a match atm.

We owe Cortese and Markus more than anyone else in recent history, and yet fans will still attack NC on here with no remorse, and no matter how much crap they spout doing it. He had no hand in any good decisions and was responsible for every bad one according to some on here. You couldn't make it up. I suspect in 10years time led Reed will have been responsible for ML buying the club in the first place, and NC will have been written into the history books as being responsible for not signing back up for VVD. HTH.
-
No. Cortese sacked Pardew, Cortese hire Adkins, Cortese hired Poch. Les got rid of the two best managers we've had in two decades. In fact by that Metric I would say Puel's job is safe. The rewriting of history on this board, and complete removal of credit with regards to NC is embarrassing. Just except that he was pivotal in where we are now. And in the 3 years since he left the club, we're in exactly the same spot in the league (although slightly worse, or slightly better depending on what metrics you use). The fact remains, why on earth people want to air brush him from history is beyond me.
-
Every season ticket holder I know, bar 1, did not attend that game.
-
And still, no home league wins this year, no goal at home for nearly 7 hours, and our worst league performance for 4 years. Puel is a dead man walking. But says a lot about the club that even after a bad season, we are still in a position to achieve 4 consecutive top ten finishes. Imagine if we had a manager who knew how to attack, break down teams, and score goals!!
