Best post on here in years, perhaps ever. We have some truly idiotic fans who showed just how little they know about football and how inane and pointless their opinions are. Comments on this thread are far more embarrassing than what was said over the summer.
  2. Ha, well said, and as usual someone has caught SS spouting BS to any and everyone who will listen. Also can't get over the number of people who would drop JWP, his assists were key at upton park! Plus our set pieces are literally horrendous without him.
  3. Morgan is defo gone then imho
  4. Just ****ing throw Seager on, at least he knows how to score. Pelle has done absolutely nothing this game.
  5. Went to The University in Southampton and lived in Bedford place for a few years, later in Highfield. It was fairly common to hear of drunk student girls getting attacked in the central parks and the common (although the latter was less common). There were also the odd terrible takes such as the poor lady who was raped and walked to the motorway before jumping to her death from one of the overbridges. The simple truth is, Southampton has a lot of students for the size of the city, a big arse drinking culture, and also a few dodgy areas around the centre. Not hard to work out what that leads to. Assaults, muggings etc etc, i heard of plenty of students who fell foul of this around the city. You also have large & poor immigrant populations in certain areas of the city, god knows if that has an effect but its generally not hard to link some areas like that with higher crime rates in this country lets be honest. All in all, there are far worse cities to live and I do like Southampton. But genuinely I feel more unsafe walking around Southampton than I would do in Bristol. Portsmouth and Bournemouth are far worse again in my opinion. And that has nothing to do with footballing bias, it seems to be a genuine problem in the central southern areas. Reading has a pretty bad gang and assault reputation. Probably simpler just to describe the country as overcrowded with a failing social structure and generally rather dodge everywhere urban that isn't mostly young professionals
  6. Which is why the previous lot got the boot. I mean, JWP, Chambers, Shaw, Gallagher etc etc etc just wern't good enough for the first team.
  7. Exactly, that is about their level lets be honest. Keep going as they are and they'll be in the conference soon enough. Plymouth are about their size, similar stadium, similar sized fanbase, far better city and location. All that said and done, saggy will want to go back to his spiritual home ofc
  8. http://www1.skysports.com/football/transfer-paper-talk Saggy Chops has been invited to join a consortium aimed at buying a south coast club.....
  9. Let's all laugh at Pompey, Lets all laugh at Pompey, La La La La, La La La La, They're still stuck in League 2, They're still stuck in League 2, La La La La, La La La La, But soon its Vanarama, Soon its Vanarama, Ha Ha Ha Ha, HA HA HA HA Did you enjoy your tin cup, Did you enjoy your tin cup, NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA ETC ETC ETC
  10. Its clearly Toby, how you can say Morgan is beyond me. He is good ofc, but Toby is an utter god. Should be playing for a champions league winning team.
  11. Didn't we do just this with Bertrand?!?!
  12. Hit the target with every chance he had... It certainly isn't his fault that we lost... get a grip.
  13. Support was poor today, fans got edgy and on the team's back in the second half, corus of boos at the end wasn't just aimed at the ref either which simply is unacceptable. The team needs our support to push them on at home. Today it was sadly lacking, everyone just assumed we'd win defacto based on swansea's team sheet. Very worrying
  14. so based on that, its clearly not a red rofl
  15. Congrats on killing another thread
  16. We will get 3rd and chase city all the way for second before dropping out of the top 4. People underestimate just how strong Koeman's team is, to beat us you need to basically score 2 goals or stop us scoring, neither of which is easy. The only team which has smashed us is city, and we were clearly not ready for that game mentally as we threw it away. We lost to liverpool (and should have won) in the teams first competitive fixture... already a good sign. And there was a lot on that match after the summer. Tottenham away was a close game, and again, there was a lot on that match for which we were clearly not mentally ready to handle. As with man united, as with city as with burnley and villa, the team did not yet have the belief and confidence. This has changed after Christmas... this lot know now that if they want to shut down chelsea,or arsenal or man city, that they can... imagine the belief and confidence that must give them... Top 4 is ours. I predicted 3rd a while back and can't see us dropping a significant points... GREAT days to be a saints fan and it is time to believe. South coast rising!!!
  17. The following is fresh from scumonline, I logged on just to check on their progress following the Newport debacle "Brilliant Article. It just shows that deep down they have such insecurity about their status next to ours both as a club and as fans. The mere fact the article when discussing our success had no mention of 2008 FA Cup win is evidence alone they all try and dismiss that year as never happening. The article was also a good indication that they hate the fact our fans are known for being amongst the best in terms of noise and support on a match day compared to their in bred plastic fans who cannot string a sentence together to be able to even sing a song at a football game. Every Scummer I've ever known has always had that bitter and dismissive view of Pompey. It's in their DNA. At home to Bristol Rovers last season some sad idiot hired a plane to fly over Fratton Park with a banner reading "SFC, always looking up at us" That shows how much just being above us in the football pyramid is a success to the pony fiddlers. Why a Premiership team (doing very well this season) would give a monkeys that their rivals in L2 has signed a striker is beyond me. Maybe because no player has ever signed for the scum and said "I'm here because of the fans and the potential of the club" The facts remains PFC have achieved something that many clubs will never do. We have been Champions of England. Not just once but twice. And we are one of few clubs to win it back to back. Scum will never ever be Champions of England and they know it. Even a random competition like the FA Cup we have won more times. Their only arguement was the fact our success was so long ago and their trophy success was the most recent (even though it was in the 70's) and now that little triumph is over since 2008. Also we have smashed them 4-1 both home and away in recent years and unless I'm mistaken 4-1 was the last result between the two sides. Bitter, twisted and will never be as successful as Pompey or ever have fans as passionate. I look forward to the day when the tables are reveresed yet again and we are in the top flight and they are in financial trouble. Wonder if they would have fans that would do a community buy out? I doubt it.":lol: If anyone is interested, the original article is as follows, great trolling to someone however, definitely got some bites over there so big thumbs up I see that scummers are still bitter and twisted and it is eating them alive Look what this sad individual has written Within hours of signing for Portsmouth Matt Tubbs looks like having to issue a grovelling apology to Pompey supporters. Matt Tubbs probably thought he was saying all the right things when interviewed by the local paper the Portsmouth News following his move from AFC Bournemouth along the South Coast. However although he did mention essentials in any new Pompey signings repetoire to excite the fans such as "Taking a pay cut to join" "massive potential" "promotion push" "Turning down a host of sides, including AFC Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers and Southend" he failed to mention the most sacred of things to members of the Blue Few. Tubbs in his excitement at being pictured in font of some metal fencing and netting at the clubs Copnor Training base forgot to confirm that the only reason that he had joined was because of the "club's magnificent and wonderful fans who are the best in the world" Of course this example would have been at the lower end of the scale of praise that Pompey supporters expect from any new signing, even throwing in that being part of Pompey' s rebirth was the major attraction to him signing will not endear him to Pompey supporters now. His abject failure to mention their status up amongst the elite of World Football Fans will be seen as a major snub from a player who clearly will be seen in Pompey speak "To have no passion nipper innit" If only Tubbs like many before him had mentioned the Fratton Faithful as being alongside Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona Real madrid or even Boca Juniors then he would be revered, but instead now he will be seen as a player who clearly knows nothing about football or its supporters, that he is a man who puts things like 30,000 plus average attendances season in season out ahead of a man in fancy dress blowing a bugle in a sparse stadium in the greatest ever supporters stakes. But given that Tubbs experienced that "Unique atmosphere" only a week or so ago when he played for AFC Wimbledon at Fratton he will be seen as having no excuses. In fairness to Tubbs at a few months short of his 31st birthday he is too young to remember the great days of Portsmouth Football Club as is probably his Father, back in the days before Bill haley & The Comets invented rock & roll, Pompey won championships with the Royal Navy packing the ground whilst they sat around waiting for the next war. He is not even old enough to remember the glory years of the 60's & 70's when 8,000 would often cram into Fratton testing its then 49,000 capacity to the limits. If as expected Tubbs does issue a full apology, one that makes it absolutely clear that no other football club has fans as passionate as Pompey, then hopefully he can take his place as a Pompey great, a position reserved only for those that sign more than a 3 month loan agreement, a rareity in these modern times and who have not within 4 games of joining prompted Pompey fans to write countless comments on the Portsmouth News site to suggest that the manager must have been clueless to sign such a useless player and therefore "Both must be drummed out of this great club"
  18. I don't really think that meets the above criteria... only with hindsight and a lot of relief can the wider fanbase be happy with what transpired. At the time all there was was faith in the club's management. The whole of the media and the country thought we were being asset stripped...
  19. https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/ajax-to-fight-saints-for-dutch-deal-1754898.html The Dutch Under-21 international is unhappy at the Rotterdam club and looks set to leave in the January transfer window following talks between the club and his father at a training camp in Dubai. Ajax general manager Marc Overmars is keen to land the 20-year-old but faces stiff competition from Saints boss Ronald Koeman - who gave Vilhena his senior debut at Feyenoord aged 16. Reports claim Celta Vigo are also interested while AC Milan, Juventus, Torino, Udinese and Napoli have been following his progress closely with a view to taking him to Serie A. Vilhena's father admitted that his son had become frustrated with his lack of opportunities this season and Feyenoord's signing of two midfielders for his position last summer.
  20. How many threads of this can we start before tomorrow night...
  21. 3rd!!
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamstring To all our hamstring injury experts... Christ... Where exactly do you think the hamstring is!
  23. Lets be honest, with our squad we won't qualify 2 years in a row, so I'd rather play against the best we can how often do you think we could expect to get Bayern or Real Madrid at saints in a competitive fixture. Would be amazing!
  24. Saint on red cafe before todays game: To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Koeman is sacked before the end of the season. With their great start expectations rose and people started believing they could get europa league if not champions league. Now that results have gone against them and could easily get zero points causing a serious lack of confidence thus entering them into a downward spiral. WTFILN Come on you beautiful beautiful reds... show these money back teams!!!
  25. The celtic chant for Wanyama, which we use, is the dogs ********... We just suck at singing it basically... Not the first song for which we can say that about ourselves
