  1. Looks like City's youth (purchased) will be given a go... Anyone know who Kelechi Iheanacho is and whether he is any good? Was he part of the rape of our U21's the other night?
  2. Sadio Mane for me. Cracking goal that sums him up. He gives defenders hell and then comes up with beautiful or scrappy finishes. That move has everything about him and was a vital goal allowing us to beat Arsenal at home and keeping our season alive when coupled with the momentum of the man utd and Chelsea games. If we're going for anything else then the Long and Pelle goals are both great strikes, although I actually prefer Pelle's smash vs Stoke, great technique and power.
  3. Bournemouth won't go down.... Still going to be two of Sunderland, Hull and Newcastle in the prem next year... not to mention Villa... They are easily the best attacking team in the championship and have a very intimidating ground. If they sign players like Lambert to build upon their young core they will do very well.
  4. I agree with you, but you never know.... I fancy us to at least draw with city. Maybe even get the win!
  5. What the he'll is wrong with you? ..... ..... No, words fail me....

    Toby

I am feeling very optimistic about Toby. If he really wants to be here then he will sign for us as Athletico have essentially no choice other than to pay ~£1.8m to spite themselves. As for the standard of player he falls under. For me he has the potential to be the best saints signing I can remember. If we can sort out his injuries I think he is better than Morgan.

    Toby

If he refuses to sign for anyone else then athletic will sell him... its that or he costs them £1.8m plus the remainder of his wages without being interested. If we want him, and he truly does love it here.... then he is as good as ours.
  8. On course for the best ever finish in the premier league after having the first team ripped asunder and having to do a complete rebuild.... And dopey feckers like you are actually implying he will soon be considered for the sack.... Get a serious grip of your teats. Never heard so much BS.
  9. Hmm, my parents spent their entire working life in the NHS, one of them very senior at Soton General... They spit about what labour did to it. Funny that isn't it. The left wing can't except when they lose. Madness. You only have to look at the vandalism of the war memorial, and what they did to charlotte Leslie's parents house in bristol to be grateful that the left got drop kicked out of power. If Scotland goes independent I can live my life free of the far left wing until the end of time. Thatcherism is back, suck it up and move on. Already today they are capping benefits for a single person at £26k (how much.....) and introducing further free child care benefits for 3 & 4 year old children. Really looking forward to a government that puts money back into the hands of working people and lets them live their own life, rather than taking their money and spending it for them/wasting it. A government that supports families rather than one that gave us a record rise in single parents and broken families.
  10. Even IF we finish 8th we have managed to improve on last season despite having our entire first team squad ripped apart, whilst also massively improving the clubs finances... I really hoped that our fanbase wouldn't turn into every other stale and arrogant set of plastics that expect success as a premier league birth right rather than having progress and sustainability. Considering where this club has been in recent years you'd think we would ALL savour sustainable top half premier league football... It is staggering that we can't as fans enjoy this.... aside from LM there has been no better time to be a saints fan with 5 straight years of success, being the media darlings and a period this season where expected to beat arsenal at home, united home and away and gave chelsea very good run's for their money. People moan about forster.... jesus christ why. We've have signed a very capable first team goalie that will see us through for 10 years... To do this we upset an irratic pole who cost us points single handedly last season. Tadic set a joint record for assists in a game this season. Pelle has had one bad lapse but has still hit double figures... Bertrand better than shaw... Mane is a player with great potential and will either do it with us or make us a tidy proft... Toby could well be joining for £7m.... Lovren cost us more and cost Liverpool £20m... Duricic, Elia are loans... no commitment... Beyond me why people slam the clubs transfers this season... I repeat again, we have improved on last season even if we finish 8th... the first team was ripped asunder, and we have drastically improved the clubs finances... Plus the u21's are showing great potential, winning the u21 cup and having 7 of them in the squad when we smashed everton... The posts on here sound like they are from children who throw their toys out of their pram when they don't get exactly what they want, when they get it..... Seriously, if you can't handle that not being the case then go and support chelsea. I for one am really please about the season, considering I had serious doubts over renewing my season ticket last summer and was gutted when we sold Lambert, Lallana, Shaw, chambers etc.... Part of me really did fear for the club for a few days... so to have improved is some achievement.... Just look what liverpool and tottenham did with their millions.... Support the team ladies... lets try not to slam every player who plays for us shall we
  11. So, who are we all voting for then? My area of Bristol are going to vote green me think... I kid you not, its an openly stoner area.
  12. I assume if we get into it we will go for it and ditch the uk cups... champions league spot after all.
  13. Adkins net spend pre pre was circa £3m.... (this has probabbly reduced a lot thanks to the £10k we get everytime Ox plays ) You can add Fonte and Lambert to that if you wish but we hardly broke the bank to reach the prem under Adkins... Not compared to a lot of championship teams. God bless the academy.
  14. Would someone mind explaining Amortisation to me? Not quite following that and how we use it? Cheers guys
  15. I thought that was odegard.....
  16. So basically, you agree with MLG
  17. If Spurs have a sell on, then we get a proportion of it as that is profit on their original purchase from saints?
  18. All depends how you raise them. Money isn't everything.. Although if your lucky and can combine a great lifestyle with money then hats off to you.... and I hate you
  19. He creates a seige mentality very well and takes a no nonsense "stand up and be counted" approach for the club which rubs off on the players. It is all just a media circus to him, which he uses to his advantage. I doubt he gives a feck and very clearly has the support of the board. If he keeps Leicester up then he'll be laughing all day long, and rightly so.
  20. Look at it practicaly mate. You can't integrate them all in one go... we tried that in the championship on the way down. Instead we developed Shaw, Chambers, JWP, Gallagher etc in one batch with first team football for 12 to months... that means the lower age group have to wait for their opportunity. One does not simply breed fully world class footballers that are ready to go at their first kick!! As for your view that we haven't been developing the youngsters.... we smashed everton with 7 players under 21 in the matchday squad... If that isn't progress and development I have no idea what is.
  21. The daily mail have ripped into liverpool's 25 years of transfers today... its an excellent read http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3058868/Liverpool-190-signings-spent-800m-25-year-wait-19th-league-title-John-Aldridge-blames-transfer-market-failings-barren-spell.html But it makes you realise what good value we actually managed this summer. For some perspective Liverpool singed the following: 2000 - Heskey from Leicester for, wait for it, £11m 2000 - Zeige from Boro for £5.5m 2001 - Kirkland from Coventry for £6m 2001 - Diouf from Lens for £10m (he went on to score 6goals in 80 appearances) gets better until around 2007, and torres (20m) aside, they signed players like Babel for £11.5m, Benayoun for £5m and a load of other players for a couple of million each that had no impact. They also spet £7m on Dossena in 2008 (remember him ), (this one is amazing) £19m on Robbie Keane and £8m on Riera (who?) Wait holy ****, they spent £17m on Johnson? wtf.... and omg, £17m on Aquilani in the same season. What a great year 2009 was, and we think we had money troubles. So the above is pretty bad imho, but what Follows (Brenda) is worth a sacking just for the embarrassment. .... The big balls up as folllows .... Carroll for £35m, back of the net!!! Coupled with Steward Downing for £18.5m with Meireles for £11.5m, joe allen for £15m, Luis Alberto £7m, aspas £7m, Lallana for £25m, Markovic for £20m, Lovren for £20m, Balotelli for £16m, some guy called llori for £7m and manquillo for £10m... Truly an astounding waste of money. You could buy better complete teams for that much. Tip of that hat where it is due for Coutinho at £8.5m, a steal when considered against the above. But. In relation to saints, when you consider what we paid for Long (allready better return than the 2000 prices paid for heskey and Diouf), wanyama, Clyne!! Morgan, Tadic, Pelle, bertrand, forster etc etc, we look to have done very well indeed. I suspect that if you give united another few seasons there transfer list will look similar (though not as bad) as brenda's... Just makes you realise even further how good a job koeman has done when you consider what a supposedly good manager can do with money
  22. There was an amazing amount of people in Northam walking up the isles which was a total disrespect. Yes the traffic was bad but ffs stand and observe the silence. Apart from those few fans who did that around the ground I thought it was well observed. But sadly not perfect
  23. Lol - the sprinklers are on quite often mate.
