  1. @tancredipalmeri: Aston Villa apparently definitely rejected for Coutinho, accordin to Inter sports dir.Ausilio:"We decided to resist and plan future with him" Doesn't look like inter want to sell.
  2. He's only missed a ? Out at the end. It's a fair point though, he won't improve if he doesn't play regularly.
  3. We like buying from Italy it seems, so lets just buy Stekelenburg from Roma, whose an international keeper at a perfect age, and be done with it. Only €3M. Or we could buy a 19 year old from Birmingham who has been leaking goals and has no experience for 3 times the price roughly. Alternatively, we could stick with our 3 and keep changing them every 3 games which won't solve anything. Not a hard choice for me.
  4. We do have games in January though. It's not like everything stops for the window. The sooner the better for transfers because we need to get points, especially in games like Villa on Saturday which we go into without Fonte by the looks of it.
  5. It seems like another long transfer saga. Because of our obvious defensive frailties earlier in the season, I had hoped the club already had 'irons in the fire' in terms of signing a CB and lined someone up ready for the opening of the window.
  6. I seem to recall Tancredi Palmeri saying the same thing about Spurs contacting Bologna in the summer about Ramirez, after we were rumoured to be in talks over a deal. It's probably true but remember he's an Italian journalist and it gets attention. However, no one would be surprised if a bigger club came in for Astori.
  7. Fair enough, I apologise. It seems to be gathering pace this one, I hope the end result will be a good one like Ramirez in the summer.
  8. How are you working that out? 2,000,000/52 = 38,461 in euros.
  9. Not to sound pedantic but it's slightly less than 40k a week in euros. Not sure of exchange rate but probably closer to 30k. It's a lot, if true, but not in comparison to some.
  10. In regards to hiding the extent of our injuries to the opposition before the game, we actually don't with regards to Lallana. For a game on Saturday we have a Thursday press conference, either late morning or early afternoon, where at least one but generally more journalists ask Nigel if Adam is fit for the weekend to which he replies "Adam won't be fit for the weekend, and that's all I'm saying". Therefore the opposition know that Lala isn't going to be playing and therefore doing it on a game by game basis is no different from just coming out from the beginning and revealing the true extent of the damage. It would be all fine if the strategy actually works to hide info from our opposition, but it doesn't with the added media coverage every week.
  11. Sensible choices, I agree.
  12. I have to say I had been thinking of starting a similar thread. Jim Stannard, our current GK coach, is an ex keeper and no doubt a decent bloke but I have to say from watching him in the pre match warm ups, that he looks pretty unfit and his kicking is itself very poor which could be why the 3 GKs we have don't have the best kicking. Obviously I don't see them in full training but it doesn't look great pre match from what I have observed. Still, professional Goalkeepers should be able to do the basics including kicking but perhaps a change is needed in this area. What's niemi up to these days?
  13. If you're serious, I would go and see a doctor.
  14. Butland is English, that is why there is more hype about him. Doesn't make him the right choice.
  15. It's incredible that despite the fact QPR have been woeful this season and are still 5 behind us, even after this shock win at Chelsea, that most on this forum are saying that we are doomed. The facts say otherwise at the moment.
  16. All 3 keepers are not good enough in comparison to the other clubs around us. Need another one but I'm not sure Butland is the answer.
  17. We have to play him. Best keeper we have and Kelvin doesn't seem up to it I'm afraid to say.
  18. Cork and Schneiderlin worked tirelessly today as did J Rod who had his best game for us I think. Excellent spirit to go to the Britannia and try to deal with their aerial bombardment, no other way to describe it. Cracking atmosphere and a terrific game, really enjoyed it.
  19. Stoke - Draw Arsenal - Win Villa - Draw Everton - Draw Man Utd - Loss
  20. Decent summary there, although I would disagree about Fonte as I think he would be the one I would keep at CB if we brought another one in. I also agree about your opinion of Puncheon leaving, I have that feeling too but not sure why. A winger is also a must in this winger, especially with lala out.
  21. Utter nonsense. Lambert has had a couple of off games recently and not won all the headers but remember these are PL defenders and its meat and drink for them to win a ball in the air. Boruc Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw Schneiderlin Cork Puncheon Guly Ramírez Lambert
  22. Summed it up perfectly. Annoyed we gave away such a bad goal, so early aswell. Boruc should get the nod at Stoke.
  23. Davis Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw Schneiderlin Cork Puncheon Ramírez Guly Lambert
  24. Probably where Swansea are this season
  25. Would probably be a CB. Samba is a great shout. Maybe someone like Chiellini from Juve. Would kind of like an Ivanovic type defender aswell. Although we probably won't spend £15M on one player, we will have to spend big money on players next month IMO.
