Agree about Figueroa, I've heard he gets good assists for goals - especially with his hands. I also like Di Santo even though he doesn't score much and is a tad inconsistent. Boruc is the main one that we need to get done soon.

Saints charged by FA for failing to control players vs Norwich
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
Usual FA nonsense. Fine a club with emotional players, who perhaps overreacted in the heat of the moment, and probably give Mark Clattenburg a raise. -
'The Three' - who should play there in our 4-2-3-1?
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
J for me. Steven Davis is not recognised for his contribution to the side because he isn't really a 'classy' footballer like Gaston supposedly is. What he is though is consistent and we know what we get from him - commitment, 100% effort and energy in midfield. Don't understand why he has been left out, other than yesterday (illness), in the last few games after City. -
Norwich City 0-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction

Should have won but could have easily lost at the end with that penalty. Well done Boruc, brilliant save. Has to be a point gained now. -

At 36, I'm surprised he doesn't want to play regular first team football but it's no doubt positive news for us. Been very loyal to us and was pivotal in our successive promotion seasons. That Leeds game at Elland Road last year in the Championship is reason enough to give him an extension.

We have lost a game at home in the Premier League, end of. We had an off day, but every does at some point, where just nothing works for you and works perfectly for the opposition. The fact that it is QPR, a side below us in the table, and Harry is the manager, makes it feel that much worse. 3 weeks ago we were saying how good everything was, but this is football and it changes so quickly and there is really no point in being negative about things. As Nigel would say, draw a blue line under it and move onto the next one.

Jason Puncheon signs new contract until 2016
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
When's Rickies contract up? Great news about punch. -
I think we'll make just the one change today with Shaw in for Fox. I really don't see how MP can put Ramirez in for any of te midfield players who were outstanding against City. Feeling confident and I'm going for 2-0 saints.

Is Saints vs NUFC on TV (or streamed) today
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to JerryH's topic in The Saints
VIPBox always works for me. Just scroll down to our game on the main football page and just pick one of the top links for a good reliable stream after you get rid of the ads. -
Great goal from kone. Can't stand reading so I'm happy with Wigan winning that. They will still be 3 behind us having played a game more.

Is NOT an Andy Carroll type player I should say!
-
Rickie is an Andy Carroll type player because Rickie is an excellent footballer and not just a target man who they can lump the ball up to. He won't go, he's still our most vital attacking player and will continue to be IMO.

Absolutely shocking Referee and a terrible performance from him today. Dreadful.

Cortese and Le Tissier arrange meeting
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
The Echo came out with an article this morning. It probably has something to do with that. -
Haven't been watching it really, but did anyone else see him take a free kick on the right side which clearly hit the wall but the ref gave a goal kick? Laughable decision. I'm sure Reeves will be a standout player for them.

Yaya Toure could be back as Ivory Coast have just been knocked out of the ACON.

Shut up you complete idiot. -
I think you'll be extremely close with those lineups. I think Rodriguez may play over Ramirez and Hooiveld could perhaps keep his place? Other than that, i'll say you're bang on.

Is the January transfer window a waste of time?
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I used to be a big fan of it but I don't really think it benefits many people other than those with money to spend at the bottom. Prices are way too high with agents throwing their players' names around all the time. In the end, as seen with Odemwingie, it unsettles players and clubs with unsavoury outcomes. There are a few exceptions though of course. Sky, I think, try to make it into an election night sort of event, with reporters all over the place but actually not a lot is happening other than at QPR. -
Nice to at least have a rumour today considering its deadline day.

Weirdly think we could do with another striker. With Billy out on loan, I think we need a real poacher to finish off all our really good attacking play. We need to be more clinical with our chances. Hooper is the type of player we could do with, but we won't sign him.

Jesus Christ. That has to be the worst made up story I have ever heard on this forum. It was bad enough before it got to the end but that bit about the phone calls just takes it to a different level. Someone should get Hitchcock to do a film about it....
