  1. That isn't really true. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45266-SFC-still-run-like-a-crappy-seaside-B-amp-B&highlight=crappy#.UhI2UpK1H-s If the op is entitled to his opinion, why are others not entitled to the opinion that despite two very good signings, and the promotion of 2 academy players to the first team squad (didn't work too badly with Shaw last season, and Chambers had a pretty decent start) that such impatience is equal to petulance? I really do think some people would rather we went down the Sunderland/QPR route of just signings loads of players, regardless of quality.
  2. The silence of certain posters is deafening. No pulling power? Deluded? Wasting time on targets that will never sign? Ruining our chance of getting off to a good start? We can't keep our players - Luke Shaw will be off before he signs his contract. Blah blah blah. #itshappening
  3. May mean we see even less of fox potentially. I don't actually think he is as bad as some do, but he clearly isn't great. Should shaw pick up a niggle, Clyne could go lb and chambers slot in at rb. Nice.
  4. He's won promotion from the championship (sb not cc anymore) twice in 3 years. I'm curious as to why you think he isn't up to that league?
  5. 4 players in first XI from the academy, winning away at WBA. I thought it was ridiculous to have half the first team made up of academy products? Only 1/2 players short. Good start to the season, great week for Rickie! #itshappening
  6. Best man ever.
  7. As I mentioned above, they have already spent £8m on Dwight Gayle & bought in Kevin Phillips permanently. Probably could have signed Sharp 4 times for the fee of Gayle. Instead they go for someone barely even proven at Championship level.
  8. Look at the strikers Hull and Palace have signed, that Gayle for £8m?! Sagbo, Kevin Phillips etc. Not exactly world beaters themselves. Imagine Billy would probably be available at around what we paid for him, or a bit less ,£1-2m I guess. Surely they would take a punt, even if on loan if he were deemed up to it? It's a shame, as he is a really likable character, and with what he's been through of course you want him to succeed. But as has been said, we are looking to push on and move forwards. We have been negotiating on and off with Osvaldo all summer - this is quite a step up in terms of ability compared to Sharp I'm afraid. Thanks for those important goals Billy, but I think it is best for all to part ways here.
  9. One post left, I cannot handle the excitement
  10. Really sad news, saw them do a greatest hits set at the garage in islington last year, was such good fun. Always felt I like them more than their music, thoug they have got some great tunes.
  11. If they want to gimme their tickets, I'll come with you.
  12. Episodes like that make me reconsider my stance of Sopranos being #1. Incredible stuff. Was breathless at the end of WW & Hanks face-off. Just wow.
  13. Wasn't that Banega, not Osvaldo?
  14. Possibly, though it wouldn't massively surprise me in the case of Gaston. He said he came to saints as he was effectively told the team would be built around him. I wouldn't be all that shocked if he did therefore have a clause that means he stays/matches the highest earner at the club.
  15. I love how you call others keyboard warriors. Swf's self-styled hard man, undefeated in "mboard" rucks in however many years. You are just so big and scary.
  16. Doesn't he also have a bit of a thing for Cortese too? Seem to recall a couple of articles (at least one for sure) of his laying into NC?
  17. I have a feeling he'll be happy today.
  18. Why would you even bother trying to take on fry like that? Surely you know he will run rings around you.
  19. What is going on Turks, I find myself agreeing with you once more. I am in awe of Ledley King. How he managed to perform at such a high level for so long considering he basically could not train is staggering. Perhaps this is me overstating things a bit, but I really think he could have been one of the top defenders of his generation (not the best - but up there) if it wasn't for his injury troubles. Had the pleasure of having a very brief chat with him once too, thoroughly nice bloke to boot.
  20. Again, I largely agree with this. Perhaps not that Walcott is average, but you know, opinions. 1 question though, if I may. How would you place Oxo in this? Personally, I think he could be a top player at a top club. I don't think he is there yet, but certainly could be.
  21. I never get why people are so critical of Carrick, he is a top quality player. It's no fluke he has played at the top level for so long, and has featured for England plenty of times (actually pretty shocked it's only 29, when you consider Barry has 53 caps, imo Carrick is a better player). He was also pretty influential for united last season, played a big part in their league success. I'm a huge fan of Morgan, and think he would certainly do a job at Utd, or any club for that matter. I'm not sure who I would say is better, perhaps on form last season Morgan may have just shaved it (stats would perhaps back this up to a certain extent), but Carrick has done it for a prolonged period. Hard to say with Wanyama, as in the Premiership at least, he is a pretty unknown quantity for now. Cork is great, but I'm not too sure how natural a comparison there is with a united player. Fletcher maybe? I think it's fair to say that CM is uniteds weakest position at present, which is why that appears to be their number 1 priority to strengthen (which they are yet to succeed in - Saints aren't the only ones!), and don't think it is as ridiculous as some are trying to make out that other teams may have a stronger CM. I'm not sure ours is necessarily better, but I certainly don't think it is too far off. The reason united finished so far ahead of us is that their defence is massively superior (Yoshi & Fonte vs Rio & Vidic) as is their strike force, I mean they have Chicarito as 3rd choice - not to mention RVP and Rooney.
  22. I'm not saying I have. But I would campaign and protest, and I very much plan to in the near future. I would have no fear of attack for this.
