  1. With cuts being made everywhere, how exactly do you expect all these things to stay open? It makes great political capital to harp on about keeping these things open, but it doesn't necessarily mean better services, which really is the important thing. My local police station closed a while back, and crime rates are down and police efficiency has improved. I know the left cant understand that it's not simply a case of hire lots of people (manufacture jobs, whilst placing all the burden of this debt on the next generation, creating an 'economic miracle') and throw lots of (borrowed) money at the problem, or that protesting every single cut as the biggest disaster ever whilst simultaneously telling us they will tackle the countries debts, without cutting anything or telling us how they will do it. But in reality this just isn't true. It's about running things well, not running things at maximum capacity. Regardless, the mayors hands on these sort of things are actually pretty tied up, leaving little room for anyone in this post an awful lot to do. Hence why they try and gain such great capital over things like congestion charging, types of busses and bike schemes. Boric isn't ever going to be pm. Have you not noticed that the only people talking about it are those on the left? They know he won't ever get there, but are trying to attempt to talk him into a leadership race. It's akin to UKIP or BNP winning seats at EU or local elections, they will never get any real power. So yeah, he is a useless buffoon, but he is entertaining, and whilst he yields little real power, I'm happy to be entertained by the mayor of the City I live in. That is another point I cannot comprehend, why is it all these non London based lefties take such issue with him? His policies don't effect them? I've met so many more people outside London that seem to get so angry about him being mayor, than I ever do Londoners. Can't honestly say I have ever felt the need to ***** about the mayor of another city.
  2. For that to work it has to be two way. He can't build a consensus if no one is willing to agree to anything. They know they have no-one that can compete with him in terms of popularity. So they will resort to anything to undermine him, like trying to stifle him from doing anything. Hardly a new political trick, happens basically all the time in the States, which is why they never get anything done.
  3. Considering you clearly don't know the meaning of 'reason', I'd imagine this is doubtful.
  4. The thing is, he will never be respected by a Labour majority, who would vote against him on absolutely anything. This out of 'principal' (partisan blocking tactics) rather than actually trying to get things done. I hate the Labour party, how they have the cheek to label others the nasty party beggars belief.
  5. That he may well be, but I certainly don't want him back as Mayor. That you throwing your hat in the ring for London Mayor 2016 Papster?
  6. What's alternative? Ken Livingstone? Christ, no thanks! I live in London, gimme Bozza anyday.
  7. Does that mean Utd are going down too?
  8. Just like when they were borrowing shed loads, selling all the gold at cheap prices, spending silly amounts manufacturing pointless unsustainable and unnecassary jobs in the NHS, it was an economic miralce - all of Gordon's doing. Sh!t hits the fan, it was all America's fault.
  9. Mate sent me this on FB earlier. Amazing, probably one of the most amazing cuss' ever. How on earth would you ever begin to comeback to that.
  10. Be a (gentle)man and punch her in the face, she likes it. How many chances are you going to get to punch a bird in the face, at her request? Just pretend she is one of them dumb b!tches you have boned and then wanted to punch in the face but would have pulled the old "that's abuse" card.
  11. I'm going to lose some, maybe all, of you with this one. In the past week I've gotten into these guys in a big way. I don't know how best to describe it, other than they are just bats hit mental, out there and odd. There's no one else even close to them. They are really dark, which I like, and at times quite eerie.
  12. Ouch. Sorry to hear it didn't match expectations. As I've said previously I saw them last summer and thought it was amazing. Maybe it was sheer excitement at seeing a band I never thought I'd see, maybe it was all the booze and smoking I had done (it was V, I went for the day, and had to occupy myself whilst Keane, Example, Emeli Sande etc were playing), or perhaps last night was an off night. No idea. Out of interest, would you mind me asking if you saw them 'first time round', as it were?
  13. As deluded as paying £50m on a striker at his peak, clearly on the decline, and having only once scored more than 20 League goals. Gaston is not a striker. And JRod has barely played as an out-and-out striker, although his goals return when he has played up top (more often in the cup) hasn't been too bad. Neither have had really extended runs in the team, Gaston particularly has had bad luck with injuries settling in a new country. If you can't see that the pair both have excellent potential, from what is limited time in their first season in the premier league, you are seriously ignorant. Potential comes at a premium if you hadn't noticed.
  14. This year (2013) JRod has been brilliant. So I don't really get where you think he will have devalued at all, I'm not even going to ask where you got this £12m figure. For £7m, he looks fine. Considering players like Downing & Henderson go for the £20m mark, I don't think it's that unrealistic to think JRod is worth around £7-10m. Gaston at 1/2 value is £6m. Errrm yeah, he is EASILY worth that.
  15. Do you actually know anything at all about football?
  16. When at uni I had to quickly escape via a ground floor window, whilst naked for a similar reason. In the rush I grabbed her, size 6 jeans. I wasn't fat then, but I am 6"3, so they were never going to fit. And only one of my trainers. Walking around the outside of a halls site in a tshirt & boxers, with only one shoe at 9am really doesn't make you many friends quickly.
  17. Frankly, I'm surprised someone hasn't done it sooner. I live not too far from Watford, and have seen them a couple of times this season. They look to have a few decent players, clearly having Zola helps as well. Such a class act. I think possibly one or two players have now moved permanently.

  19. It still seems like you are belittling that achievement. Going an entire season unbeaten in any division is impressive, in the Premiership (like it or not, it's amongst the best there is - quality wise) that's truly incredible. He's still managed to spot players with exceptional talent since then, and often brought them on and turned them into World Class players RVP & Fabregas being just two examples. Furthermore, he has also managed get the most out of some players, sell them on at a huge profit, and they then never match what they did at Arsenal, for example Nasri & Adebayor. Yeah he's had some duds, although Cygan was part of the invincibles squad, pretty sure he gave away the free-kick Beattie scored in the 3-2 in 02/03 the season before. But even Fergie has, Taibi, Djemba, etc. Maybe because he formed an actual argument instead of, "you think he's good, you suck his cock".
  20. Clearly before my time, so perhaps I'm not best placed to comment. But football is football, I don't wish ill health on anyone as a result of football related things.
  21. All due respect, but if you disagree with me and think a successful manager is anything other than crap you must be sucking his cock? Yet again, you are shifting the goal posts, you started by saying that the Bayern result proved it, now it's the Blackburn result? As Sour Mash said above, Bayern are one of the better teams in Europe, and for me one of the top contenders to win the CL. When Utd lost to Barca, also 3-1 in the final was Fergie a poor manager? Nah, course not.
  22. Palma Violets are streaming their album ahead of its release on Monday. Decent new British band, for fans of The Clash, The Libertines http://www.palmaviolets.co.uk/
  23. Errrm how does it not? Yes, he did sign them as kids - and look how good they became under his tutelage? In most cases they sold these players as they wanted to continue running the club as a profitable entity, so refused to break their strict structures, meaning they found it hard to compete for top signings in a league with City/Chelsea distorting the market and therefore selling players such as RVP or Nasri before losing them for nothing. The amount of young players he has signed relatively cheap. and then sold for £15+m is staggering. Also, how does being beaten by one of the best teams in europe prove he is crap. A manager in charge of the same club, at the top level for the entirety of that period, can't really be judged on one game. By that logic, was Fergie suddenly a crap manager after getting beaten 6-1 by City? Does last nights one game erase going an entire league season without defeat?
  24. Before the usual planks start piping up, how about for once taking your heads out of your backsides, and realising this is entirely standard. There are dozens of examples in recent times of managers still being on gardening leave after leaving once post, before moving into another.
