I have two formations I flit between depending on injuries/fitness/form/opponent. Both working quite well for me at the moment. 4231: Sweeper keeper Cwb bpd bpd cwb Rga/dlp anchor Treq AM/SS Treq AF/TM Usually go Control, fluid. High Tempo, pressing, hassle, retain possession, short passing, overlap, roam. It's risky, can come unstuck sometimes bit have doled out some impressive spankings. Also use 41212: Sweeper Keeper Cwb bpd bpd cwb Anchor B2b dlp Treq TM AF Can't remember instructions on this one, though it is a bit more reserved. Usually counter attacking.

Just been to vote. Struck by the amount of parties that seemingly stand for independence from EU. I thought UKIP were the only choice. Also, pretty surprised by my choice. There really isn't a great deal of choice, I can understand why there are such levels of disillusionment at the moment.

Doesn't he post on here? -
Thought the music from Drive was brilliant. Can happily just sit and listen to that as a playlist on spotify. The Zidane film thing too, though mostly just because it is Mogwai.

Didn't realise it was you that started it. In the interest of fairness, was that serious or a pee-take?
-
I'd agree with you, but that's not allowed, apparently.

Sorry, completely off topic, but wasn't there a "should we just pull out of the league now?" thread (or something along those lines) at the start of last season?

Yup, this.

IT'S BEEN 9 DAYS SINCE THE SEASON FINISHED AND WE HAVE NOT SIGNED ANYONE!!! ANYONE!!! The fact there is a World Cup about to start and no players are moving clubs yet is irrelevant, I want 936 signings now. And no Carlos Kickaballs. Oh and don't you dare drop any of our current players for any of the new signings :x But, if the new signings do not play every minute and score 37 goals in their first 45 minutes on the pitch then they are an utter waste of money/oxygen etc... Is that it all covered? -
To be taken with a pinch of salt, as this appears to all come from his advisor, not the man himself. That said, this article says the two are close, and that Yaya named his child after him. TL;DR, City didn't shake his hand and congratulate him on his birthday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27484318 Is he a bit wet? Is he agitating for a move? Or is his advisor just a bit of a knobber?

My christ some of the pampers posse are out in force at the moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27484480 The final line: "Southampton have declined to comment, because of ongoing contractual issues with the pair.". It's plain and simple why the club have not made a comment yet, FFFS. Just effing grow a pair.

Can't believe you get coaches saying you can't coach penalties. To me that just smacks of a bad coach. If you can't coach someone to replicate hitting a dead ball on target from 12 yards you are a pretty poor coach. Yes, it's nigh on impossible to replicate the pressure, but doesn't that apply to every part of the game? Is coaching a training exercise impossible as it is not the same on the training pitch as it is in front of 30k people on a Saturday or the millions watching a final/World Cup game etc. You aren't attempting to replicate the conditions, you are trying to teach/coach the player to do things (right) without thinking, making the right decisions instinctively through practice. That's what training is, and that's where coaches earn their crust. If a player knows what to do instinctively, it means they think less about what they are doing. Watch any pro or pundit, they'll say you want to be acting on instinct. If you are thinking too much in high pressure situations you are more likely to make mistakes. As the article says, a penalty shoot out at a World Cup is not the time to be taking a pen for the first time. You want players stepping up who have done it so many times they could practically hit the side netting in their sleep.

Yeah, everyone has known it's been done for a while really. It's the least surprising news for a while, hardly any point in announcing it really. I agree, it's almost swung from being one of the hardest jobs (following Sir Alex) to one of the easiest (following Moyes). It will actually be hard to do much worse than this season. They've clearly got the financial clout to do a serious rebuild, which is generally accepted to be what they need. I don't think the one season will out of Europe will hurt them too much in terms of recruitment (I certainly do not believe Europa vs no Europa will make any difference at all), but a second could see a tail off. That said, a worrying sign is how many players were willing to snub them last season. Maybe it was Moyes, they need to hope LVG's reputation can help change that tide, as that could be of concern in the future.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I couldn't care less about the money, it's not like I'll see it. You do not become a better team by selling your best players. The more we lose, the more we have to sign. Which never works, you'll end up a squad of individuals.

This interview is utterly hilarious. "I'm uncomfortable with people speaking other languages on the train" "Don't your wife and children speak German?". "too many kids in schools speak English as a second language" "english is your kids second language" "All parties have idiots" "Aren't you meant to be different from other parties?" "I'm not racist, look at the time I had all the black people on stage with me" It's so funny watching him squirm *Obviously, this is paraphrasing, not direct quotes.
