Completely professional by every measure of the word. Deserves the respect of the board and to be rewarded appropriately.

As unbecoming as it is, I really hope he's an utter flop at liverpool.

It is a bit of a shame but £100k is still an outstanding achievement. Incredible.

Because you weren't a fan of Blair it should be an every man for himself, dog eat dog society? Excellent logic.

Love it. -
Well put. The missing element is intent. You can't convict on "of course he meant to kill her, it's obvious". The prosecution couldn't prove he intended to kill her, therefore, not murder. His recklessness as to the impact of his actions will no doubt be enough to prove guilt for culpable homicide and this alone carries significant sentencing powers. Together with the firearms charges, I imagine he will be given a lengthy sentence. Not that it'll ever be enough for those who have decided on his guilt by picking up bits and pieces here and there.

Now listen, darling

He must have really p*ssed Koeman off. Obviously the full story will remain unknown.

Unfair competition? I'm not following. Devo-max may, in your opinion, be 'having your cake and eating it' but that doesn't really explain why it's bad for the rest of the UK.

This is the point I'm making. The main thrust of the Yes campaign is that the people of Scotland are best placed to make decisions that affect Scotland. Sounds good, but it's open to infinite regression without losing any qualitative value. The people of my house are best placed to make decisions that affect the people of my house.

Bloody hell, talk about wall of text. Apologies.

Is the difference in sense of identity enough to warrant a separation? I would suggest no, but obviously that is a subjective question to which there is no 'correct' answer. The sense of identity is something each of us feel individually but has little bearing on how we wish the country to be run. That's why I would suggest that the values are a more important consideration. What team you support, your idols and your taste in music don't really impact on your values. Undoubtedly there is a sense (right or wrong) that Scots have an unfairly small voice in Westminster and are lumbered with the will of the English. That is why I feel that devolution is the more palatable option. Any decisions that impact on Scotland alone are taken in Holyrood, any decision that impacts on England alone are taken in Westminster (by English MP's alone, so this would mean taking Scottish MPs out of the voting). The difficulty lies in decisions that impact the UK as a whole, I think that those decisions must be taken in Westminster as it is the only parliament with representation of the whole of the UK. You must consider that only fairly recently has power devolved to Holyrood. So although the figures may be startling, they are taken a bit out of context. The decisions by Westminster now have a much reduced direct impact on Scotland now. So the figures are perhaps best viewed as a reminder of how things used to be. I couldn't really give a general consensus but my wife, a paid up union workplace rep is vehemently pro-union (of the UK). I think you have a very good point. An independent Scotland are much more likely to vote for a left leaning party than the UK as a whole. I would imagine this is why Labour have been losing so many voters to the Yes campaign. I also fear that the UK would jerk to the right without the weight of Scotland bringing towards centre. I'm not saying right wing is bad, but we don't want to end up like the US and have a right wing and a very right wing. ain't that the truth In the result as it is on my ballot. (I've used this username since joining some random little site about 12-13 years ago, for some reason I liked Dire Straits at the time...a less religious person you'd struggle to meet )

I'd have to say Florence. Simply the most beautiful city I've been to. Although many of the buildings were looking a bit pollution weary. Think London would be up there too.

The divisions between east and west or between central belt and highlands are as real as the division between Scots and English. Similar to the north south divide in England, it's as real as the Scotland England divide. There may not be the same level of animosity, but it exists. Interesting choice of words that highlight the more apparent than real nature of the difference in values between England and Scotland. Are the values of someone living in Carlisle really that different to someone living in Gretna? As has been said, a majority of Scots didn't vote SNP. Additionally the reasons for voting SNP were more complex than wanting independence. Aside from the independence issue, SNP are reasonably competent. Of course a "Yes" vote would be reason enough to carve up the union. The nature of a union is that the members want to be in it. But I didn't say it wasn't. I said the fact that people vote for different political parties isn't reason enough.

Maybe if you use lubricant and jiggle it about a bit.

Not as sorry as I'll be if it's a Yes

Glasgow always votes Labour. Should Glasgow be independent because we're stuck with an SNP government? I can see what you are saying, but that's the effect of representative democracy. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but certainly no reason to start dissecting the country into bits that happen to vote the same way.

I've lived in Scotland for the past 15 years and can say with reasonable assurance that a large number of Scots find the term "jock" offensive.

Sepp Blatter considers "review of decsions"
KingdomCome replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Why not give the ref a watch that will vibrate when a review is called by the manager. The ref will then decide on an appropriate point to pause the game. If a team are bearing down on goal 1 on 1 with the keeper, the ref would probably decide to wait and see what happens with that first. Edit: didn't see Gemmel's earlier points, mic'd up 4th official would work in the same way. -
Refreshingly honest and fair play, it's a reasonable attitude for him to have. No doubt he will be looking to leave as soon as possible, but to get the move he wants he'll have to impress again this season. So we should hopefully get a good season / half season out of him.
