  1. You'll note that he gave Lambert, Rodriguez, Lallana and Shaw their first call-ups. I don't think he'll take SaintsWeb opinion into account either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Simple answer: nobody has anything to go on but gut feeling. We'll see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks very much! God, Newcastle really couldn't be arsed could they?
  4. The little Gaston comment makes me think you're joking...
  5. It's the least significant game in terms of the table along with Stoke vs Hull, which I assume is last. Two huge games in the title race, five goals plus plane controversy at Old Trafford, a six-goal six-pointer at the bottom and Swansea vs Norwich, which still has a relegation element to it. Not surprised, personally.
  6. He is central to everything we do on his day. When things go well he is outstanding, when they don't he is peripheral but it's hard to determine a cause and effect. Considering he's been a bystander in a lot of games this season, 10 goals and 10 assists is a very good return.
  7. I certainly chuckled at the user with Cortese as his avatar!
  8. The simple reason to believe we can improve on this season is that our team is young and most of our players have their best days ahead of them. The interest from top clubs suggests that many of them are capable of playing at European level. If we can keep them together then there's no reason we can't play at that level ourselves. Can we keep them together? Nobody has much to go on but the optimist believes we can. The pessimist doesn't. The realist has very few resources at his disposal and would be silly to claim objectivity.
  9. Just seen the goals. Newcastle defence was absolutely shambolic but Lallana's goal was a cracker.

  11. Wish I could be watching. Merrington's losing his mind!
  12. Can't watch so listening to Solent. How much of this dominance is down to Newcastle's inadequacy? Southampton of all teams should know that it's not over at 2-0...
  13. I expect there will be a couple of votes for Lovren, Schneiderlin and Rodriguez but only Lallana and maybe Shaw will get into the team.
  14. As I say, only particularly touchy sorts will mind. Besides, nothing's gone wrong yet. It remains a long-term ambition.
  15. Talking about the top four and failing to get it doesn't hurt anyone but the dangerously self-conscious.
  16. Lallana. Captain, huge inspiration to the younger lads and much harder to replace on the pitch. Of course, we could see Shaw go the way of Bale...
  17. Can't look past Brendan Rodgers for manager of the year unless Everton get into the top four, but they are a great team to watch and a likeable club.
  18. When it gets to this stage it can be beneficial to lose if it galvanises the team and leads to a win. A sequence of draws (as we had at the end of last season) can lead to complacency. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. We wouldn't recognise the talent in our squad without the coaching staff who have helped the players make the most of themselves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What's happened at Southampton in the last few years is as close to instant success as you can get. Well done to all involved for achieving it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. It's a real shame clubs can't buy or sell players. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. We have great players and nobody knows that better than Pochettino. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. We're full of that belief...until we concede. We need to get over the loss of clean sheets much quicker, because it seems to affect everybody. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
