  1. Very good, haha (Assuming it's satire...) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Agreed. Both Hodgson and Pochettino have done wonders for his confidence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This is our biggest problem. We've done it against far worse teams than Spurs as well. Eh? He is the embodiment of 'head down'. He gets selected for press conferences because he speaks well. None of this has anything to do with his football - the problem there is that he is not tough enough to play deep in midfield. That's it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Don't be silly. We're a point off 8th with Newcastle to play. Could even climb to 7th if things go...better than today. We were excellent in the first half, but as soon as Spurs got their tails up we were swamped in the middle of the park. Their quality started to show and we lost our heads. Missed Schneiderlin big time but I thought a draw would have been fair. If Sigurdsson's shot had gone wide there'd be far less whining on here tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Do we still think Naughton would be a good signing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. A what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Do you have any examples of that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That is literally it. Just be glad that all reputable stories - bar one or two regarding Shaw - are about clubs being interested in our players and not the other way round. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. No. But you don't say you're going to win, and the reporter hasn't said that Lovren's going to sign for Manchester United. It is not speculation, it is reporting. So many people fail to get that through their heads. Anyway, I'm not at all surprised they're looking at Lovren. He'd probably be a very good signing for them, he's just the sort of leader they've missed since Vidic faded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. How will you measure it? There's no way to verify a claim unless it's 'this player will sign' or 'this player won't sign' For example, in January the vman said we have several targets. I believed him, but we'll never know whether or not we did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. People never learn. What's worse is when people try to be scientific and calculate what proportion of transfer stories actually end in done deals, as if anyone reports that players are 100% going to sign.
  12. Just noticed that the official Twitter feed has swapped the black and silver badge for the traditional colours. Big, obvious stripes on the graphics for the Home and Heart campaign as well. Seems the new board are getting some early crowd pleasing in. Fully expect a traditional kit next year!
  13. I love his accent.
  14. Please send it on Bearsy. Perhaps they'll read it over the tannoy or write it out on white seats in the Northam?
  15. Glad that we're doing things right, but shame on the clubs at the bottom of that table. Some of those figures simply aren't good enough. Terrific reporting to build the story though. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Am I right in saying that this often happens before a club switches kit supplier? I seem to remember we had a sale last year but not the few years before that. Some clubs do it every year, of course.
  17. Thanks for the summary. All sounds very good - English football fans are bound to be sceptical of Director of Football types but I have faith in our guys to do things properly.
  18. Absolutely incredible
  19. You can improve the ground and 'monetise the area', as Simon Peach put it, without doing a thing to capacity. I expect that's what Krueger will be looking at first and foremost. Maybe a few thousand seats so we can get more in for the big games without making the place look empty on other matchdays. I'd love to see a nicer exterior built around St Mary's to improve on the bland grey and brick.
  20. It's hard to say, because it's not always replacing your weak links that counts for the most. But looking at it that way I'd replace Lambert, Osvaldo, Boruc and Fonte/Hooiveld, depending on how Jose does against the new guy.
  21. Irresponsible and unsustainable use of money - FA cup, Europe, top 10 followed by consecutive relegations
  22. You need both. Great chairmen and managers can achieve some things without money, money can't do squat without the right people to use it. Not sure why I'm feeding you, anyway. But it is interesting to look at other clubs' spending and success!
  23. Indeed. We've both done incredibly well. It's not a competition. But if it was, perhaps we could decide it with a football match? Interesting, thanks for this!
  24. No quotes to back up that assertion. Tabloid stretching methinks. EDIT: Mirror one you've added has more. It's clear he still wants to play for France but it looks like he'll consider us if they don't give him a chance in the next few squads.
  25. Enough money would get most clubs there eventually. Doing it quickly, at the first time of asking and sustaining it is more difficult. Leicester spent bucketloads and got nothing from it for years - they didn't spend much at all this summer and here they are. Money really doesn't guarantee you anything in any given season, but it certainly helps and anyone who keeps having money poured into them will get there eventually. What's happened at Southampton is pretty remarkable just for the speed of it. Why are we going for £150m, by the way? Is that how much the Liebherrs have put in? We really have no idea how much money they have or how much they've put in.
