That's not a weakness, that's just what happened because we spent the whole game camped in their half. They didn't have much to defend, but they were caught out a couple of times on the break I suppose. Medel and Kim were quite good at turning on their 18 yard line and setting runners off. Guly almost set up a goal yesterday, let's not forget. Cut the defence apart with a single pass and set Gallagher (I think?) through on the keeper.

Not good enough today. No guts and static up front. Onto Villa! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Don't forget that Chelsea employed AVB before Spurs did. There is risk with established, 'proven' managers as well. Mourinho was as proven as they came when he went to Real Madrid but he ultimately failed

That answers the question of where all the watches had gone from the contract photos. They were putting them all together to make one giant watch.

What a terrific article. And very proud to say that Barney Ronay's right about us. Let's hope others catch on.
-
The difference this time is that it's not just Saints fans putting him in the frame. Second favourite at the bookies, etc. But I think various posters are right in saying that Spurs would prefer a big name.

EA Sports did the stats!

This exemption would be welcome...but how many cases would it affect in a year? Some but not many I suspect. Police have done the right thing.

Can't say I blame him. Sad if he leaves for that reason, because he really deserves a place in the squad for his Saints performances. Thing is, all players listen to offers. Unless you're at the very, very top you're going to see what's out there.

If they do it'll be competition. They're always signing players but not many leave. And if Hart left he'd walk straight into a trophy winning team elsewhere. What makes you say that?
-
I like it. Our striped shirts look far tackier once the sponsor's on though, sadly
-
And their agenda against Morgan Schneiderlin?
-
Am I right in saying that a banana skin is just a game against a bad team? I expect they will play Jones against Gazzaniga. Someone with a big presence to put him off.
-
Morgan said most of this last spring when Cortese 'considered his position'. He didn't go then and won't go now if the club keep moving forward. Seems to me he's telling the board 'I'm in if you're in'.
-
He'll be looking at his options. He doesn't know if he's leaving. Is that not really obvious? He'll look at what offers he has on the table and make a decision. Maybe he's leaning one way or the other but that information is literally kept inside his brain and maybe mentioned to one or two others. None of us have a clue. I think the fact that he wants to stay in England is encouraging though. As the OP pointed out, he's unlikely to get a better offer than Spurs and we can compete with them. They're a bigger club and have more money to spend but we're at their level on the pitch and he knows the squad here wants to play for him. No guarantee of that at Spurs, and I also expect that we'd be more patient than Daniel Levy if the team goes on a bad run. But as I say, nobody knows. Stop being 'increasingly sure' either way without any evidence!

I doubt that would be our rationale if we signed him. The scouts know more than we do. If we sign him, we've seen something in him as we did with Jay. Anyway, he'd cost a lot because Burnley are getting promoted and have no need to sell.
-
Backing them all the way. Eddie Howe deserves a crack at the top level.
-
Nobody is suggesting we move on from Jay immediately. You're taking a big risk if you gamble on him coming back on time and at full strength.
-
Is it really 12? I can think of eight and some of them are kids/unused squad players: Eto'o Willian Salah Van Ginkel Schurrle Matic Atsu Schwarzer Who else? I think the point was that huge revamps of the first team tend not to work unless you've got ridiculous money. Even then it doesn't always play out right.
-
Scott Sinclair can get in the bin, but I'd take Milner if we could get his wages down. Holtby would be a good signing. I do wonder what Spurs are gonna do with all these players. They can't all stay can they?
-
I can see United improving now the pressure's off. They've actually got the best away record in the league as well, which surprised me. As always we're capable of results in every game but here's how I think it'll go: Cardiff W Villa W Everton D Swansea D Utd L

The most important thing about our team is unity. I really don't think you can rank individuals like that, because everyone's game is boosted by collective endeavour. Especially for the academy boys!

CONFIRMED: Rodriguez ruptures ACL - out for SIX months
DuncanRG replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Heartbreaking for him. As important as pace is to his game at the moment I honestly think he has the talent to adapt if he comes back a little slower.
