Shame we've already given McColander a new deal and will be letting FF go. -

Yes, those half a dozen games we played for Dundee a few years back mean he's obviously the better option for our backup keeper. -

Are people so dense that they STILL don't accept that the PL is a sport for TV viewers and not those who go to games. The latter are becoming as redundant as crowds at a horse racing meeting. Covid proved this beyond doubt as crowds were replaced by colourful banners and computer game crowd noises and no TV fans really noticed any difference. It's not 'the genius' of Sky moving a trip for club on the South coast to the North of England in the mid-week - they do this as it fits with TV schedules. The effects on a small number of fans who are travelling from Southampton to watch the game are of no consequence to them. If you are happy to support a PL club that pays the transfer fees/wages we do then this money has to come from somewhere and that somewhere is TV so you have to accept they can move and will move games for TV purposes. If this offends you so much there are plenty of non-league teams locally who play all of their matches at 'traditional' times. -
PL clubs need to live within their means? 🤣

Have you got a link to these standard rules? Given we have KWP I would assume the club would bite Chelsea's hands off if they offered a nice fee in the Summer. The terms of the buy back clause are irrelevant if we actually WANT to sell him back to Chelsea. Livermento was bought with the idea that he would initially be the backup for KWP but proved to be better than that. If the club could get £40m for him the Summer, given we already have a VERY good RB in the squad I think it would be great business to sell him.
-
How do you know that for sure? Has the club publicly posted the terms of the transfer?
-
Maybe they're paying him already....
-
In the Summer it's pretty certain we'll need to replace Salisu too. He seems to have Newcastle written all over him. Not quite at a CL club level but exactly the sort of player they can pay over the odds for in terms of transfer fees and wages. They already had an early try in January.
-
Well for a start KWP was just about our best player in the entire squad in the pre-season so that can't be true. Sadly football is as much about what goes on in the bank balance as the league table now. I can think it very feasible, if we have two RBs of similar ability, that we could well be playing the one we think we could make a huge profit on to re-invest in new transfers. If Chelsea get a new owner sorted by the Summer but no longer have the financial might of Roman then I think they could well be looking at using the buy back deal they have with us as this will be cheaper than buying a similar talent player from another club.
-
I think the club's strategy all along was to put Livermento in the shop window and sell him fr a nice profit as quickly as possible. There's little downside as we already have another, very good RB, at the club anyway.
-
How long have you been writing for them?
-
Given he's said he's not signing a new deal and there's no way the club will just let him see out his contract, it's difficult to think next season won't be his last. (if Spurs don't get to him before that).
-
The sad thing is that Ralph will leave before he has taken the club as far as he can due to the fact his first seasons here were utterly wasted sorting out the mess that Reed and Kreuger had created where most of our wages were being paid to players on loan at other clubs. Without that we would be at the same level Koeman got us to.
-
He needs to kick on to be as good as Lukaku and Werner, yes? Maybe he can one day aspire to be a clinical finisher like Marcus Rashford? Or a player like Lacazette?
-
Or maybe it's from the Liebherr era?
-
But he pops into people's houses who are in the UK to watch MoTD. yes?
-
Are you saying you make a conscious decision not to watch anything on the BBC?

We still haven't won a PL game where Stuart Armstrong hasn't played since 2019.....
-
We seem to be developing a strong relationship with Ross County and they thanked us for our help after they signed Josh Sims. It seems possible this could be a club on the SR radar.
-
"“I’d like to once again thank Southampton for our continued relationship.”" Next acquisition for Sport Republic?
-
Is there a choice? We have to give the Cup match larger allocation so this and having to have a gap between home and away fans means that they get the whole of the Northam and there is no option?

SAF was in his 70s when he retired......

Please provide evidential proof/stats of anyone involved in top level football who quits the game, when at their peak, as "they have enough money". Thank you.
