Pat's from a bygone era where only the manager can be involved with transfer dealings.
The world of football has moved on since then, even if Pat hasn't.
As well as the ruck with Pearson apparently he had also been accused of threatening behaviour towards a team mate so not exactly the sort of person that we would want to be bringing into the dressing room at this time and just the sort of player that Cortese does not like to sign.
Like it or not football is not recession proof and going to a game is not a cheap activity such as going to the cinema. So the people who usually would go to 5 or 6 home games a season are now only going to 2 or 3. For people in this situation they are more likely to want to see games at the end of the season than Derby in Feb (which is the 2nd home game in 7 days).
Puncheon coming back into the fold has rendered him obselete! I can't imagine Spurs as too happy about the situation as he was loaned out to get more games and he is actually playing less for us than he did for them as he played in their Europa and FA Cup ties.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the loan cancelled in the next couple of weeks and him return to WHL as at least he would get regular games in the Premier League reserve league.
I'd give it a go. Football teams survived for decade upon decade before teams were able to field a sub keeper on the bench. With the ludicrous 5 sub rule it is a waste to have a keeper on there when in all probability he won't be used all season.
I seem to remember that Warnock never used to have a sub keeper on the bench for Championship games.
My fav player as a kid.
It did make me feel old when I saw his Facebook page describes himself as an overweight 51 year old with high blood pressure and diabetes.
