  1. Just tell the old dear that your new one is at the repairers already ("wasn't like that when they made them in the UK "etc etc) and you need yours back for a while.
  2. Pleased thing turned out OK
  3. I loved the thread. There was a fella mentioned called Dougall who wore a sheepskin coat and never moved - he had been seen walking his dog in Fairoak I think. Then there was another guy whose name escapes me (Martin was it); waiting at the top of the stairs by some swinging doors with a chair while a mob of Chelsea fans were poised to charge upstairs. He had a motorbike accident I think. Thats not to glorify the trouble but they were just classic seventies folklore tales.
  4. Did FF keep a copy? There was certainly talk of preserving it at the time. It was a fantastic assortment of memories from far and wide; each one triggering other people to remember.
  5. Will it be plastic?
  6. It went on for pages and pages but you must have read it. I found it a fascinating insight into my early years of supporting the club. Others may prefer the 'songs for Brentford' thread or 'what colour should the away shirts be next season' but not me thank you.
  7. Don't sit on the fence vftt
  8. Sometimes Sherlock Verbal you have to think out of the box
  9. It is common knowledge in military circles. Why do you think that the Americans keep jumpiong up and down about Iran - because they know damn well what Iran is funding.
  10. I do not have a clue about Egypt and Tunisia but I know that the war in Afghanistan stepped up a gear after the Irans upped their input. I would say it is likely that they are helping their shia brothers in Bahrain. You are being very naive and seem to forget that the Iranian Gov despises the West.b They blamed us for stirring up their own discontent and no I have no evidence buit I bet we did!
  11. Iran was behind much of the roadside bombs that forced us out of Basra and now they are supplying the Taliban. You are very naive to ignore their influence as mere pr.
  12. Yup that's £511 if yo want to have the radio on at work. Thank you for helping small business Gordon and dave
  13. Simply awful. It will take a decade to put right.
  14. I was p[robably too busy watching old war films.
  15. He was convicted in a court of law. You cannot release somebody early ojn the grounds that 'he probably did not do it'. I agree with acting in the interests of your nation and dealing with unsavouries - We do iot everyday ourselves in life.
  16. A long time ago!
  17. Tories have been embarassing over Libya Comrade Verbal but lets assess how the alternative got on. Against the wishes of all right minded people and our biggest ally America, they worked behind the scenes to release a convicted mass muderer on the basis that he had three months to live. To humiliating triumphant scenes they then lied to the world and blamed the Jocks (sorry is that racist?) for arranging the release of this terrorist. They also consistantly sucked up to Gaddafi and his brutal and vicious regime. At least teh Tories are trying to oust him. Loved to hear your thoughts on Labour and Libya.
  18. Don't know but Verbal was very emotional about it earlier in the thread.
  19. Few positives, bit like a lisp.
  20. Why don't you speak to the club and get them to organise something for all of those that come over.
  21. Clearly not as I have responded to your India example with a link. It did Seem a little ironic that you can use 'bald' in a negative context. Guardian of PC values and all that.
  22. So there is a problem with bald people is there Verbal? Now that is not very PC.
  23. I am not sure that they have a monopoly on gaffes. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/politics/milibands-trip-to-india-a-disaster-after-kashmir-gaffe-1418914.html
  24. We pay a good rate of tax on our smokes!
