I'd want to start Austin this time, but I really don't think you can drop Long at the moment. Mane scared the crap out of them last time, but he's out of form. Could be the kick starter he needs? At the same time, I really rate Davis' contribution to the team, and JWP's assist stats only continue to increase. It's great that we're struggling to pick a side because so many players are in form! I'd give Mane the benefit of the doubt as he and Long can work well together, and they both have pace against a generally slow Chelsea defence: Forster Targett, Bertrand, Fonte, VVD, Cedric Romeu, Clasie, Davis Mane, Long Subs: Stek, Yoshida, JWP, Pelle, Juanmi, Tadic, Austin Assess later how game's going, and look to bring JWP/Tadic and Austin on later in the 2nd half if/where needed. Just keen to get Austin up and running ASAP as I'm worried we're going to drop off in the next few games, so I'd be keen to get him some game-time.

The Ox is a dead cert in the summer. Allow me to prove it so.... FIFA 14 comes out. I buy Shane Long to partner SRL. 2014 season ends....we buy Shane Long. FIFA 15 comes out. I buy Charlie Austin to a create a Jay Rod/Austin partnership (couldn't get Pelle to fire on FIFA 15 - probably doing something wrong). Some months later, we buy Charlie Austin. FIFA 16, I'm in the middle of my third season with us, sitting in 4th place in the league. Charlie Austin's back again (top BPL scorer), schlong obviously still here, and my no.1 man for assists.....Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. It will happen, have faith. Question is, who should I buy on FIFA 17?!

How the **** Rondon gets in before him, I'll never know! Guess WBA aren't setup to attack, they're set up to defend and then counter if it comes to it. SRL's not quick enough for that. A real shame too. He's still got something to offer a Championship team IMO.

Best thing was nobody played badly, everyone put in a shift. Long gave them a nightmare at the back! Clasie also looked quality in the first half, kept Ozil anonymous. Was Giroud even on the pitch?? Absolutely buzzing here! Watched it with my three little boys and a night to remember! Probably a flash in the pan, but at least we know the quality is still there.

That's what I'm saying though - the 7-8 year version I've just got is barely any bigger than the small youth size from last year, and that was a good fit on my little 5yr old (he was 5 at the time) boys. If anything, I was amazed at how small the new one seems, as I assumed size for size it'd be much bigger than last seasons as last seasons were so small, but it looks like the 7-8 shirt will be a snug fit on a small 6 year old. Not that it matters much now as they're nearly all sold out and the new one will be out before long.

Quick update to the thread: My missus went out yesterday, just on the off-chance, to JD Sports in Whiteley. She found an away 7-8 sized shirt, and rang me because it looked very small. Bearing in mind that size has sold out in the Saints store, and every JD Sports in the area (we've tried) she grabbed it and brought it home last night. We compared it with his SY sized home shirt from last season, and to be honest the 7-8 version is barely any bigger! So if I'd have gone 5-6 I would have indeed found it too small for him, no doubt. Nice shirt though, it's really grown on me from the beginning of the season where I thought it was awful! Thanks for advice again Rich

Cheers. He wears 4-5 gear at the moment (school stuff) so he is quite small, but obviously we can't easily check it. I'll probably just get him one, as the next size up is 7-8 and it'd probably be like a dress, even if it was available.

Sorry for starting a new thread, I did do a quick search but I couldn't find a thread to tack this onto the end of, and I need to move fairly swiftly on this. One of my boys (6yrs old, but quite small) has declared he wants the away green shirt for Xmas. Happy to get him one (obviously) but the only size left is 5-6yrs. I remember the fun and games we all had with last season's ones, but the Adidas ones before that were ok I seem to remember? Wondered if anyone's been there and done it, and found that the 5-6 shirt is massively over or under-sized, or something? Cheers chaps Rich

Is he really that bad, that RK would rather play a back-up CB in the full-back role? I know his previous club said we were welcome to him, but on the odd occasions I've been to SMS and seen him, he's looked ok. He's no Clyne, but quick enough, ok on the ball, tracked back etc. Am I missing something? And Cedric's not always picked - is he injury prone or something? Surely RK isn't, playing Yoshi in preference to Cedric? Apologies if it's already going on in another thread, ain't been in here in awhile.

I run a garage over in Fareham, and the stresses and strains of having your own small business etc. I've seen ads for sales advisors in the shop and thought "You know what? Clean hands, don't have to take your job home with you" etc, I could see myself doing that. But then they say (as I've learned also) don't mix business and pleasure, so I think it'd be quite a risky thing to do.
