  1. Dan Roan ✔ @danroan BREAKING: Premier League and EFL look set to announce both will be suspended until at least Apr 4th, when situation will be reviewed. Hearing EFL board agreed on this unanimously. Premier League meeting happening in 10 mins when clubs will be urged to follow suit

    Coronavirus

This is not true, merely speculation. There's not enough data to state that this will improve as the weather gets warmer. This virus is a coronavirus, not a flu virus. Lots of cases in Iran, Australia, some in sub-saharan Africa. While infection rates may show correlation to being higher in cold places, that could be because people tend to stay indoors and closer together more when the weather is cold - like the myth that you can catch a cold from being physically cold. Correlation does not equal causation.
  3. Premier League teams meeting this morning to discuss postponing all games until the international break. Seems optimistic to me. Leicester, Chelsea, Arsenal and Watford all have players in isolation because of this. Brighton v Arsenal has already been postponed. At least we might have Redmond back available when this game finally gets played!
  4. Portsmouth team in isolation after playing Arsenal, now Arteta has tested positive. No way the league finishes, if there's any games this weekend it will be a farce. Not such a big deal for Premier League teams but you have to feel sorry for L1 and L2 clubs (except the blue few, of course) who rely on ticket sales every week to keep going.

    Coronavirus

Serie A has been suspended in Italy, expect the same will happen in France soon too, European games being played behind closed doors. America is utterly screwed, barely anybody can afford sick leave from work, let alone a doctor or hospital stay.
  6. Has Virgil forgotten he's a CB? Middle of nowhere for Chelsea's second and nowhere to be seen just now when Giroud hit the bar.
  7. Have they scored a goal against a Premier League side?
  8. Still injured isn't he? 2-0.
  9. I agree with this, though expecting Haller up top and Antonio ineffectively on the wing. Moyes is not Pellegrini, he'll not want to risk losing with an attacking formation.
  10. Just seen Djenepo's mother has sadly passed away, he won't be available for the next few games.

    Coronavirus

And flu has a mortality rate of around 0.1%. So far Covid-19 is showing around 1.5-2% mortality rate.

    Coronavirus

Won't kill us all but it's spread too far to stop it and takes too long for symptoms to appear for people to know they have it before they've spread it to multiple people. I think this will affect the Euros and the Olympics. Either moved or postponed.

    Relegation battle

So who's going down then? Norwich look dead and buried but as we know better than most this season, a string of decent results can do wonders (conversely if you're Watford, a string of good results can get you... 19th). I think Newcastle and up are safe, leaving Norwich, Watford, West Ham, Villa, Bournemouth and Brighton. Norwich, Villa and Brighton heading down for me. Much prefer West Ham to go down than Brighton though.
  14. Possibly the best West Ham have played all season and still lost... what a shame Hope that dents their confidence, two of their best players tonight going off injured too. Watch Fabianski play a blinder now against us.
  15. 1-1 half time. Salah has been awful, Mane not much better. Alisson should have saved the goal, and VvD has been caught out of position a couple of times. Liverpool getting complacent?
  16. It feels strange wanting Liverpool to win a game but I hope they batter West Ham tonight. 1-0 already.
  17. Played well today, big improvement on Romeu going forward. We'll see more of him against weaker teams this season.
  18. Old, injury-prone bit-part player at a big team on high wages? West Ham will be all over him.
  19. Excellent again today. Will Gareth come calling..?
  20. I'm fully on board with the conspiracy theory that PL refs are doing their best to make VAR look bad so they can get rid of it. Stop blaming the technology, blame the same old terrible referees that operate it.
  21. 0 on target in reality, the one they had was offside but ref played advantage. Would have been ruled out if it had been a goal.
  22. Brilliant win, I had zero faith of us holding onto a lead but we did it! Stephens was immense, JWP solid and Ralph got his tactics spot on - shut down Grealish and you shut down Villa, they are a Championship side without him. Level on points with Arsenal - I think we would have all taken that if you'd asked in November!
  23. Is it 1-1 yet? Certain we will concede a last minute equaliser!
  24. Wow Grealish can just ask the ref for a free kick whenever he likes apparently.
  25. Cracking start, let's get a second. Villa awful at the back, relying on Mings to clean everything up.
