  1. 1. He did nothing to suggest that. Handled Calvert-Lewis easily, and combined well with Hoedt and Cedric in particular. I understand we're all peeved about his behaviour in May-August but he was fine here. 2. Rubbish. We attacked again and again, the problem was we couldn't convert the half chances we did put together. 3. Heaven forbid we accept 3-1 wins every day of the week. Oh and look we scored a fourth! 4. If we ARE ever going to play three at the back - as many here have BEGGED for - probably a good time to give it a look is when you are 3-1 up against the ****test defence in the league. Oh and look we scored a fourth!
  2. This claim is simply not true, and I do not understand how you can even possibly suggest it might be. I've just watched the first half again, and it is clear that all the moaning on the match thread about us sitting back after scoring the opener was garbage. It didn't happen. We controlled the ball even more in fact. And while their equaliser came from a defensive lapse, it was in no way a result of us ceding the initative to them. Not once in the first 45 did they establish any sort of run of possession. When we coughed it up we got it back generally pretty quickly.
  3. All that sitting back is killing us.
  4. I must be watching a different game to you lot. You all keep crapping on about how we sit back and sit back and invite pressure. Pretty sure I've been watching us go forward again and again but without being able to find any end product. And then they get a ridiculous worldy because we faff about one time to many. Clearly not creating and converting more clear chances = sitting back sitting back.
  5. The only thing I know for sure is we won't score.
  6. So obvious. Why do we even have a keeper?
  7. Redmond isn't out there... yet.
  8. He ****ed it up. Ghastly.
  9. Awful mistake, although I though he was otherwise good. But bugger me what a time to go to ground.
  10. Simply can't have Gabbiadini on the bench anymore. It's bizarre. Might as well put VVD up front at this rate. Play Long on the right cause Redmond is useless, and figure out what the hell Bertrand is doing cause I'm not seeing him do much of anything.
  11. Next game can we just play VVD and Gabbi up top?
  12. Not sure I share the optimism of some here. Be happy if we score really.

Well he's Danish, and I assume his missus is too. Life is pretty good for Danish parents and families I've heard. Social system craps all over the UK and Australia. I'm sure they'll be fine.
  14. Everton basically handed them the game with their **** midfield and central defence. We won't do that (hopefully!) But United have started with a rampage, so I wouldn't be surprised - or angry - if we get turned over. Take a point as long as we can score a goal or two.
  15. Today's effort was somewhere between this... And this...
  16. I reckon the extra security of Lemina in the middle means we shoule be able to get forward more. Problem is I wouldn't have much faith in any of our front four to hit the net.
  17. Not to the same degree I reckon, and I haven't forgotten some of his past howlers. But I do think Yoshida is by far the more switched on of the two.
  18. If Stephens could find himself anywhere close to the man he's supposed to be marking in the box he'd be a reasonable defender. But he can't, so he's not.
  19. Nordic will find a way I'm sure.
  20. I would have thought bringing him right back in wouldn't do much for team harmony. Especially if Hoedt plays as well. A bloke in his first game next to a bloke who hasn't played in seven months and spent most of that time pushing for a move out. Not the sort of defensive structure I want.
  21. They'll be doing same for Forster. Or just lobbing balls around the six yard line knowing he won't take a step to get them.
  22. Apparently going to Celta Vigo. And does he really offer anything we don't have anyway?
  23. Agreed. More than once already this season we've seen Stephens completely lose track of his man in the box, who then had a basically free attempt at goal. Abraham at home, and at least once at Huddersfield. I prefer Maya for now. Yes he's not flash, and yes he also has major issues with physical attackers, but he won't just let them run around unmarked. Stephens may be slightly better on the ball, but Maya keeps things simple, and provides more threat going forward. He may miss his headers more often than not, but at least he's attacking them. Until such time as we have the two Dutchies playing together, Yoshida-Hoedt would be my preferred pairing.
  24. Not so sure about that. They'll be relying so heavily on Hernandez, who was an astute signing. But you can bet your balls Arnoutovic will pick up a couple more red cards as the season goes along. Plus he's not THAT great anyway. Not worth the cash they paid at least. Carroll will occasionally get off the massage table to nab a few. But they are **** poor in the middle of the park, and even worse defensively. They're in for a long season I reckon. It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
