  1. Entice Brendan Rogers with £80m to spend...we must have some left over from the Summer. Would love Benitez, but with his kids being in the North West I doubt he'd want the job.
  2. I think they call it a 'Blacklash'.
  3. Nowt wrong with it, I dressed up as Mr T for New Years 2009 - was a pretty good costume actually - and no-one even mentioned any racial connotations, because there quite obviously wasn't any.
  4. The word 'drastic' has connotations - perhaps the wrong word to use considering that I felt I needed to qualify it.
  5. Funnily enough, I've been having similar thoughts. I'm 33, 2 kids (5 and 0), decent enough job, nice missus etc, but I've found it very hard to block out the negatives that we're seeing in the world today. With the frequent terrorist attacks, Trump/North Korea, and Brexit hanging over our heads - as well as the utter incompetence of the incumbent Government/the delusion of the opposition, it's making me want to do something drastic (not Las Vegas shooter drastic, more emigration, build own house in middle of country and become self-sufficient type thing). Both my parents have had cancer in the last year and both survived which I am thankful for, but it's an indication of their age and that they may not be around that much longer. Personally, I think one of the biggest issues for me is 'the news', and the way that news outlets have prioritised bad news as clickbait as technology has taken over our lives. However, it is genuinely difficult to cut it out of your life. I have cut down my time on this forum, as well as removing myself from Sotonians completely. Next to go will be Facebook, as 90% of the people on there I couldn't give a f$%^ about anyway. However, it is useful to use to arrange get-togethers. Twitter will be a hard one to remove myself from though, as it's where I get a lot of my sports news from. Does anyone else have any tips as to how to live the blissfully ignorant life? Anyway, just rambling a little. The World is pretty depressing at the moment. Here's to hoping the National and International outlook improves!
  6. The Cardinals won't do anything with Johnson out for the season and Palmer throwing the ball 50 times every game - and an appalling pass defence at the moment. If you think Saints are bad the Cards will make you question sport full stop. But NFL in its current guise is a superior game/product to Premier League football. That's why I'm hoping the 'London Jaguars' is more than just a pipe dream. Edit: just seen the date on this. Above still true mind.
  7. Blimey, SOG v Batman. This really is a Plymouth v Leyton Orient style affair isn't it?
  8. But Kruger effectively said 'never say never'. If the Scouters offer us £70m plus, let him go. Had enough of this ********.
  9. He was being detained at her majesty's pleasure I heard.
  10. His Twitter still says Lazio. Perhaps Koeman's going to swoop...
  11. They say no 'Extra' funds. I presume we have the funds to bring in both Hoedt and the attacking player we want, just that after that there isn't any more - but then I doubt there is any need for any more. Don't forget the new big Prem deal is paid pro-rata, so at this point in the season I assume we may have a slight cash flow problem.
  12. I think people just tend to need a break from the extreme socialist nature of the site, and Barry Sanchez's rampant racism...
  13. I've given him a text (or Whatsapp is what the kids call it nowadays), so hopefully he'll be looking into it soon.
  14. Ah, so it's something that ugly/socially inept people can hide behind when they don't get any.
  15. Never heard of a pan sexual, but whatever it is it sounds painful.
  16. We don't have the squad space to do that though...
  17. Not like you to be down about something...you alright?
  18. Interesting. It's a lot of money for him to personally invest - but I bet the job to redevelop the riverfront and around the stadium will go to Lander, and will ultimately give him some of his money back. Not sure how I feel about this, but as ever I'm prepared to give him a chance (like I have a ****ing choice, eh?).
  19. TBF, Rose is massively replaceable. He's probably the worst player in their starting lineup now.
  20. It's odd reading something that is full of so many strawman arguments being treated as fact.
  21. Some good humour in that thread. Won't be impressed if we've been gazumped mind.
