  1. not to forget that we add to the trophy cabinet and get a Wembley day out of it!!!
  2. yep. liverpool game and can't remember who but it was an over the top ball which austin latched onto, except it wasn't a counter attack because by the time austin reached the byline he had no support or nothing!
  3. If I was Puel I would play our first team for this, we beat them in 2014, why not again!! I reckon a mix and match first/second XI team could beat Palace anyway. I'd like to play this Forster Cedric Fonte VVD McQueen Romeu Clasie Davis Boufal Austin Long (unfortunately Tadic is injured, or would have played him instead of Austin tbf) That team still has 5 changes anyway, and surely we don't have to rotate just for this week!!! I gather that over a season we can't sustain no rotation, but surely one week our players can give it their all without affecting their condition too much.
  4. I'd rather sell him for £35m to Barca, RM, Bayern than to Liverpool for £60m- and make sure that foreign club sign a co tract which means they can't sell him onto an English club, if you are allowed such contracts
  5. Bullsh*t. 'Take a defeat' You would have found something else to moan about.
  6. I do think we have got these players on such big contracts on the basis that 'play really well for us, and when the time comes, we will allow you to move onto a bigger club'. Guess we get the cash, and he gets his big move.
  7. think it was last season or season before that against Everton which was still one of the worst refereeing displays I've seen at SMS.
  8. really wish Pied was back!! Martina been poor lately, but he will start on Wednesday I reckon. Actually, on second thoughts, maybe another long shot against them Martina?
  9. eh? you replying to yourself mate?
  10. agree with this, but can't deny football is about fine margins, i wouldn't say they were lucky, we didn't completely shut them down and they still had some half chances, had Gueye/Barkley scored in the first half etc it might have swinged the momentum. However we also had moments to kill it off with Sims and JWP, but glad we were on the right end of a result this time
  11. No way that he said that. Wow, but I guess we all knew he only played youth when he was forced to
  12. Where is alpine now then? A tacit admission of a poor squad LOOOL
  13. Martin Tyler: 'Heres Coleman but they need a goal man' Worst joke of the day
  14. Oh James Ward Prowseee
  15. Could be a different half, yeah we may have had a little bit more of the ball, it could be 3-1 to them tbf Gueye's shot, and both Barry and Barkley had good heading opportunities. After Austin's goal, we've had the one Josh Sims header BUT overall we do look lively and certainly seem like weve been in their half more, so more of the same please Saints, with 100% concentration at the back haha!
  16. Shaving=goal for Shane Long??? Tell Redmond and Bertrand that etc too then!!
  17. Yeah first time i could understand With that one he shouldve passsed it to cedric i think- does he have a history of long shots in germany or something Then again- if one of them goes in- could be his ticket to a big club move ;)
  18. I put a fiver on!
  19. Get in there Still a tacit admission of lack of depth alpine? Come on though, last time we took an early lead against Scouse opposition ended 6-1 *gulp*
  20. It is an active goal of ours to utilise our academy. Maybe Sims is good enough for today, I'm not gonna write him off now, will judge him after today ofc.
  21. No Boufal, must be injured, same as Steven Davis too maybe. Jay Rod's on horrible form, Long is either being saved for Arsenal this Wednesday or not fit to start. Clasie has been crap and he knows it. Sims, from the academy, if he has a great game then it will be a blinder from Puel, and he knows if Sims is capable etc as he sees him in training/U23s/Blackbox videos I can see why Puel has made those changes.

So we should gun for midtable then? Despite our crap Away performances, I'd still rather be in it than not be in it- I've loved the fact we're playing twice a week almost most weeks Milan was still a great 2/3 days for a lot of us despite the result, and others enjoyed Israel and Prague I'm sure despite shocking performances
  23. and we managed a 1-1 draw against a crap Sunderland team. individual results mean nothing, they are 5 points ahead of us, and whilst recent form for them, and to an extent us, is poor, they are still a side capable of beating us, and tbh I think they will get something. Previous managers have done okay on our ground, e.g. Pochettino won here last season and drew 2-2 season before, Redknapp beat us here with his QPR side

if we want europa league football next season it aint gonna happen through virtue of our league position. only way i see it happening is winning the league cup, so beating arsenal. then again, id have probably said the same thing last season, until our second half of the season where we had second most points between Jan and May 2016, which could still happen yet
  25. Thought Inter was a good performance tbf, just that Handanovic played an absolute blinder + good defence in Miranda et al. Prague ranks worst for me, followed by Midjtylland and then Beer Sheva.
