Merson's prediction Southampton look like they've gone. With Virgil van Dijk getting sent off against West Ham, I can't see them getting much at Goodison Park. They've been very negative and don't look like scoring goals. Their manager seems to set them up to avoid defeat and they sit back too much, as we saw after they took the lead against Tottenham. You can't be like that in this league. I think Everton will win very, very easily and start 2017 as they should look to carry on for the rest of the year with a decent team. PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

what a stupid response. A lot of us would love to know whether there has been a shift in the Puel in or out camp after 2 horrific home results. On an aside, I've always been in the I don't care what type of football we play unless we get positive results, but this guy isn't getting us either
-
If I was Morgan I'd join Everton, he isn't a Saints fan despite his 7 years here and he will be paid higher there than under us
-
How will you win your 'insurance' bets if you are not watching the football.

Right now 55% in, 45% out. Just find the football on display so dull, least with Poch and Koeman even in defeats we played well- these past two games have been turgid. What a shi*e end to 2016, and apart from our highest ever Premier League finish, politics and celebrity deaths and the more recent football on display leaves much to be desired. Only reason I say in is because we would look stupid sacking him now, but oh how I wish we had someone better... He was my third choice after Pellegrini and Rudi Garcia, wonder how either of those would have done at the helm
-
That 2013/14 squad tbf to him- we had a good solid 13/14 players but Poch was forced to play Kelvin, Hooiveld and Danny Fox in some games ffs- 8th was decent with good attacking football to boot. I will admit though that goalscoring has remained a problem for us no matter whoever the manager, but this season takes the pis*. Puel was my third choice manager for Saints, and right now I'll give him a grade C for the season. League position is good and semifinal is great, but lack of goals and that dismal, dismal Europa league campaign (particularly away games) leaves more to be desired. If he can win us the league cup then as long as he doesn't relegate us it'll be a good season, and one I would take right now (e.g. 15th and the LC win)

So 3 games? Will miss the Norwich FA Cup game too?

They say the phrase 'a tale of two halves' Well this thread is certainly a tale of two pages atm lol

He'd rather win his bullsh*t returns mate.

Either say the interesting stuff or don't comment at all

I like to order random numbers, for example just ask for the number 5, 42 and 76. You have no idea what you've fu**ing ordered

We will see in 3 years. However, the guy is really well spoken- to speak the number of languages he does at the age of 21, really impressive

What is the y axis representing?

Since he hasn't got many minutes in the past season and a half I can't really judge him but based on those lack of minutes I wouldn't say he gets into our starting XI/best 11. For those saying we don't have a best 11 due to the rotation policy, I'd say that most of the team that played, and flopped vs Beer Sheva are the main players for Puel. Our first 11/(12- Tadic is vital too) for me is Forster, Cedric, Fonte, VVD, Bertrand, Romeu, PEH, Steven Davis, Boufal, Austin, Redmond/Tadic Morgan would be an improvement for Clasie to me. I'd happily swap Clasie for Morgan, just don't have that attachment to Jordy. BUT wages would be a stumbling block and unless we get rid of one we'll only end up with a massive squad.

Should have been sacked following that shocking dance move in the FA Cup Final
-
And we are out. What a shame. Should have played a stronger team in hindsight, as players like Sims, Reed could have easily recovered for our next first team Prem game.

Shi*t it is 1-1.

It is called higher wages mate. Lukaku is apparently rumoured to be signing a £110k week contract too (maybe tabloid rumours) Spurs wage structure is between 90k and 120k- Kane is on 120, Lloris on 100, Vertonghen on 120, Toby on 90, Eriksen on 90 etc Leicester now offering similar, with Drinkwater on 80, Musa on 90, Vardy and Mahrez on 100 and others too Everton have crap players atm (no one really wants them atm, but Stones left cos City are retarded to pay that money and as mentioned above with Lukaku) Watford- can't believe you mentioned them is there a link which shows a top club wanted Deeney? WHU- well they are paying Payet a £125k a week contract. Our wage structure lies between 50 to 70k, only maybe VVD is on 80k AND YES, just like you I hate the selling regularly, I will admit, BUT we have been successful so until the year it goes wrong, cut the negative drivel out!!! Also football has too much money- glad we aren't the club driving wages up.

I find that 'little brother' nonsense really patronising if I'm honest. They are simply another team local to us, yes, so a derby, but NOT a rivalry like ours with Portsmouth. and I ain't gonna wish them well purely because their close to us geographically, but yes I like them to other clubs in the league, but obviously not at our expense!!!
-
Redmond isn't Puel's love child, but a player who will fetch a very very high price if he adds goals to his game. I reckon Reed almost forces Puel to play him- and the conversion to a striker in theory should increase his attempts at goal. Hence why we see Jay Rod and Redmond start more- just that English premium to it and homegrown status. That is my conspiracy anyway

Puel vs Koeman - Comparsion after 17 Premier League games

That Hull game tho... Always one of those types of results every season I guess! -
I always say this- if a team is off form then we are the team everyone would want to play. Only Everton extended their crap form against us
