  1. how much is Puel on now then? Maybe that is what he is alluding to, if Puel is on far less than yes, then potentially we have been cheap with a manager. I don't think we have been cheap, just chose an underwhelming manager, as I'm gonna presume that VVD is our highest paid earner on £70k, so thus Puel is on £75k himself (again presuming a manager earns more than the players).
  2. I believe Mendes has been Fonte's agent since Summer 2015 now anyways.
  3. my local doner kebab say they sell lamb, but actually sell [cheaper] beef. and they are the busiest on the high street.
  4. id say we need to carve about 10 odd chances. and then we might score 1. our conversion ratio is 6.1% apparently
  5. I don't think anyone will chant his name like they do for Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain. A lot of people have been left with a sour taste by his departure. As for OP, the answer is no. Close thread.
  6. well he has to do something with our fivers
  7. I just don't rate him, if that is who Blackbox thinks is the one then meh. I'd like us to look abroad for this one or someone who is getting regular game time (either for their parent club or loan club), hence why Chelsea isn't a bad team to buy from. I'd rather we take a first team CB from a club smaller than us/similar size. Not a Liverpool reserve. Only issue is the problems associated with January market.
  8. Offer him a pay as you play contract- £5k for every appearance. And for every goal give him £40k. If he scores two goals in a match thats £85k, if nothing he can do with the £5k If football contracts do work like that
  9. Hate that a big club can afford to spend £18m and then even when that player is bang average still ask for more than what they paid and make a profit for him. (That was what liverpool paid for sakho) I guess they can afford to pay his wages anyway. If we buy someone for an amount like that and they were average to crap we would be lucky to get 60% of what we paid for. Like United with Morgan and Depay- will end up making most of their money- or Chelsea when they sell their players- get so much for it. These big clubs have power not only in buying but also in selling.
  10. my west ham mate just sent me a message 'rather than waste that £9m on an ageing defender, why don't we buy whoever Southampton replace Fonte with instead'
  11. when we sold mane liverpool finished 8th that season
  12. What you have confirmed now is that our squad in the second half of the season is weaker than the squad we have now. We had AUSTIN, PELLE, ROMEU AND WANYAMA last season, yet now we only have two of them without replacement Do not bring Redmond into this, because Puel would have likely given Juanmi a game a week anyway, and Jay Rod still isn't 100% anyway. Anyways, as for Krueger's comments: not a surprise. However, when we sell, can we be more stubborn about it and sell a lot later? At least, don't release bu**sh*t articles please?!?! We were told that Mane would not go for less than £40m, yet he gets sold at £33m. Also why do we sell so so early- why not make clubs wait until September or deadline day- another extra months wages only costs about £200k-£300k: selling late means that player doesn't get proper pre season with his new club to learn new methods etc I don't mind selling to big clubs, it means we have done well- but recruitment needs to be 100% on and it is a high risk strategy, one we will have to live with. Finally, with quotes of us receiving £60m for VVD, would not surprise me if we sold for £35m at the start of June.
  13. This guy actually lives local to me- in Kent Name is Herbie
  14. maybe But with the top 6 pulling so far ahead the season has gone back to reality where you should survive with 37 pts. Yes we are on terrible terrible form- 4 defeats in a row have ruined us, but I don't think we will get relegated. If any of you do think we are gonna go down- put some bets on it. Leicester were champions last year, yet below us!
  15. Football is a lot about confidence and form. Win 4 games in a row and we feel like we can beat anyone. Lose 4, and suddenly every game approaching is an automatic defeat.
  16. well we lost someone yesterday, maybe the biggest clapper here!
  17. tadic had a good record too for last season considering the strong rumours that 'he hated koeman.' when you also consider we have played more games this year than it is even worse. but this is what happens when you sell and your replacement is injury prone.
  18. miss boufal and austin- funnily enough both our replacements to mane and pelle. if you took out mane and pelle from last season then there is no chance in hell we would have finished 6th last season. i mean the chances are promising, but we need quality to replace them. everyone knew that boufal would go to africa (even if injured now), and also everyone knew austin is very injury prone.
  19. least one positive came out of today. on this forum.
  20. im a bit more of the opposite! i highly doubt we will go down, so let's go for a cup double, we have the talent just very inconsistent with it. would play this- lewis cedric yoshida stephens mcqueen hojberg clasie davis tadic jayrod sims
  21. Doesn't matter. Its about points and results. You could argue the other way saying Burnley defended really well and Heaton played a blinder, they executed their game plan well and were worthy of the 3 points.
  22. Agreed not even out of our Europa League group.
  23. Can we just bid £15m for Heaton and go from there.
  24. If we drift down to 15th and below then definitely. But then when you think about it that is the case for clubs like Stoke and Bournemouth (nothing to play for apart from finishing as high as possible)
  25. I think i'm at a stage now where i couldnt care less about the league IT is near on HIGHLY unlikely that we will reach top 7. So 15th place and the league cup WIN will only do now really.
