    Surman

I was sorry to see him leave as he was a good player for us. However, he did lack pace for the Premiership, especially in the last 15 mins of each game when he often looked kn...ckrd.
  2. Was he on the bench for the Bournemouth pre-season friendly at Dean Court? If so, I have seen him in the warm up.
  3. A good listen to a very good Manager. He always comes over well in his Sky TV Interviews too.
  4. Beware of wise men from the East bearing Gifts.
  5. Most of the people he interviewed in the Sandbanks programme have all gone bust or fled!
  6. I have never critised his skills, but simply his "powder puff" shooting ability in the past. He is having an immense season so far and I must eat my words after his seconed goal on Saturday. He has obviously worked on this, so well done to him.

    Wotton

Paul Wotton's best game for us this season by far and agree with other posts that he helped to bring balance to the side yesterday.
  8. MorningtonCrescent's post is the most sensible I have read on this site for ages. I think this is exactly how the club is being run now and about time too. We have a professional set up at last...the rest will follow.
  9. I really enjoyed listening to that and Pardew' responses showed what a really good manager we have. There were one or two irrelevent questions, I felt, but they must have been important to the questioner, so that is fair enough. It is a pity time ran out without any questions on our corner kicks and width.
  10. All we need to do is play proper wingers.Lloyd James & Lallana are not proper wingers so it must be 2 from Holmes, Papa and Mills even though the latter is a lb. Lambert will thrive on crosses from the bi-line with the big centre backs joining him on corners, providing we send in whizzers and not scoops.
  11. Come on fans for goodness sake. Pardew had to get his team together which he now has, but he had to do this whilst the season started. Nobody can argue that the 8 players and coaches he has brought in, are not better than we had before. His after match comments indicate that he sees things most of us do on this board. I shall be very surprised if we do not begin to climb the table now. Have faith and patience, that is what the new owners asked us to do at the begining of the season.
  12. That is it exactly.Paine & Sydenham used to do this for big Ron.England did it twice the other night. The defence is forced to to come out to get the ball. If we just lob the ball into the goalmouth from outside the penalty area, the CF has his back to the goal and the CH is invariably all over him. Another thing too, cannot the coaches teach our corner takers to put in "whizzers" ala MLT, those lightweight scoops do nothing for our attackers in the box.
  13. Ed is great.
  14. Devondale Investments, I believe, is an offshore Company who own, Milan Deveopments (2004) Ltd who in turn own Portsmouth City FC Ltd. The latter 2 have negative net worth because of the mountain of liabilities, according to last registered accounting info. We cannot get details of offshore Company's accounts. It looks therefore that Gaydamak may have walked away in exchange for the Sheik taking over the business (and the liabilities). Things just the same as before then.
  15. Notts County: a disaster waiting to happen IMHO
  16. Ah yes, all those narrow seats, not being able to get anything to eat and those long queues at half time to get to the toilet. Those were the days.
  17. We were crying out for 2 wide wingers on the flanks yesterday. Had there been, Rickie Lambert would have got a hatfull I am sure. Why o why does lallana keep cuting inside when he only has to get down to the by line to cross, just like Brentford did when they scored. This is elementary stuff surely? Is there a Paine & Sydenham out there somewhere?
  18. How many times has it been said on this Board that we need wingers to get down to the bi-line to cross the ball? How many times does it happen? I saw Murty do it at the Hearts game once but cannot recall mention of it since.
  19. Can recommend "The Raven" at Much Wenlock for Accomodation and food.

    Adam Lallana

Loads of ability and willl develop with time. He must learn to practice more power in his shots though.
  21. Now, whether that means that from then on we're 'completely debt free' is a moot point. I think it will bring it down to the last 20m that Gaydamak is owed personally. Either way, very good progress on what was a crippling debt..... Your accounts have been highlighted here before and you do not seem to realise that Portsmouth City FC Ltd is the wholly owned subsidiary and Miland Developments (2004) lTD is the Holding Company. These companies, in their accounts to 31.05.08, made a gross loss of £10M and £7.6m respectively and a pre tax loss of £17m and £17.2M. Current Liabilities including Bank and I presume Gaydamaks Loans amount to £391M for the two companies and their net worth is negative £96M and negative £85M. You have sold over £100m worth of players, but that is not enough to repay all the liabilities. Furthermore all the high wages would continue to be paid since then so goodness knows what the liabilities are now. You can check these figures from the Company's Registry, but suffice to say I am glad I am not Portsmouth's Bank Manager or indeed a creditor. Ooops, I forgot to mention those County Court Judgements registered against them.

    Jack Cork

a good player but not the strength and power that we are looking for at present.
  23. You can park in their customer car park around the corner, but not on the pavement outside.
  24. Palace do not pay bonus's so he probab ly would have earned more on a 2 year contract with us than 1 year with them.

    Skates

Daily Telegraph claims that the Arab has not provided the Premier League with the Proof of Ownership yet, so nothing can proceed until that is submitted, investigated and approved.
